I will not give them any stars! They are expecting us to order parts under their warranty! Have you ever heard of such crap! Our receipt says ""one year warranty on labor, 6 years on parts."" No where does it say I have to order parts! The water heater is 5 months old! Have you ever heard such crap! Do not do business with these people!! We paid $1175 for this thing...not a cheap one by any means. Does that sound like customer service to you? Do you want to do business with them? We will continue to fight with them, no way are we going to do their work. BBB here I come!

I was referred to this plumber by a friend. I called this morning for an appointment and the receptionist said they'd meet me at my house within the next two hours. Fifteen minutes later a tech called me and asked me to describe the work that needed to be done. Once I briefly described the work, he said the estimate would be $1250. Huh? That's so odd and unprofessional. He didn't even come to my house or look at what needed to be done. Thanks but no thanks!

Willy & Jonathan did a great job replacing my water line from the street to the house. They replaced the sod grass so it hardly shows a long cut. I also had a water filtering system put in. Water is delicious & so clear; showers so refreshing; & faucet/pipe chemical stains are gone. Friendly guys. Great job! Sharon, Walnut

My water heater started leaking Tuesday evening. I called the phone number on the water heater Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM, which turned out to be Craig Mechanical. I was told they had a slot for me between 10:00 AM and noon. I called back at 12:45 and was told they were en route. At 2:15 I called again and spoke to the office manager who promised somebody out here within an hour to an hour and a half. At 4:00 PM a tech showed up.

I had bought my previous water heater from San Dimas Plumbing nine years ago next week. The owner had written 10 Year Warranty on my receipt and on the unit. Craig bought the phone number (at least) from San Dimas Plumbing when the owner KC retired.

The tech showed me a text that said my unit only had a three year warranty from the factory despite my written receipt. He then called his general manager and chatted for a few minutes. He then asked me if i had been performing maintenance on the water heater. Maintenance? I answered honestly that I hadn't ever heard of maintenance on a water heater. He told me then that the warranty was voided because I hadn't drained it a couple times a year.

Rather than argue with the tech, I told him to tell those people to fly a kite. If his GM was on fire, I wouldn't spit on him to put it out.

This whole process was completely disappointing and I wouldn't recommend them to sweep my gutter. I'm reporting them to the BBB too.

1 star is definitely too much. I wish I had never contacted them.

I had a problem with my water heater and they said it would cost $1500 for the new part or $3000 for a new unit. Since my unit was 8 years old, I figured it would be better to just go new and save myself trouble in a few years.

They gave me two options for new units. I chose one with better reviews, and they said that they couldn't get it and needed to give me the other option. I said OK, because I needed hot water.

The first tech that diagnosed the problem ended up leaving the company shortly before the installation was scheduled. A few weeks in, the front office manager/receptionist was gone as well. Red flags anyone?

I would've been frustrated if it were just the few no-show or late appointments, but somewhat satisfied if I at least had hot water, but that wasn't the end of it. Initially they installed one unit (and I actually had hot water for a few days), and then they said they needed to replace that unit with a ""better one"". I asked why and didn't get much information, because the front office has no idea what's going on.

It was nothing but error messages and inconsistent (15 seconds on, 1 minute off) hot water for a few months, during the wintertime no less. I had the manufacturer's certified tech come out, and he said the installation was incorrect, missing some lines that help to regulate pressure. Since it was so soon after the installation, I went back to Craig to get the work done right. The first tech had no clue what to do and said we might need to de-scale the unit (after less than 3 months?? typical is 1-2 years....). His supervisor came, talked to the manufacturer and ordered some replacement parts, which he then installed a few days later and still did not fix the issue.

After much hassle and back and forth, a few months later, they finally replaced the entire unit with a new model and I have hot water, which points to the fact that the original installation was bad, despite the fact that they said they had other installations that went bad and it might be a problem with the complex.

Awful customer service, no communication whatsoever, total lack of respect for my home or my schedule, and a seemingly huge lack of knowledge of what they were ""repairing"". I would strongly recommend finding someone else to call...save your time and money for elsewhere.

Very poor service. Three times in three years, they needed to replace capacitors that had blown in my AC system. In the nine years prior to that, never needed to replace the capacitor. They also wired the motor in reverse in my system. Did not honor their claim ""If you are not completely satisfied with our installation or service repair, we will do the job again to your satisfaction for FREE! ""

For years, they've parked their very wide clunky service truck in Arcadia, CA on Temple City and Huntington on evenings, weekends and every other time. It sticks into the street and us neighbors on the side street have difficulty seeing around it when driving. It's going to cause an accident if it hasn't already. Why not park safely in Monrovia, CA where the business is located?!! Or on the side street? Or in a resident garage?

One star it too much for this operation. I had used them for over 7 years and had been satisfied until a technician installed a fan motor in a reverse fashion and caused my ac fan to run in reverse for an entire summer! At the end of the summer I needed a new fan motor along with other parts and expensive labor. The mis-hap caused my ac to run non stop and cool my house moderately and raise my electrical bill through the roof. A costly endeavor causing me an estimated expense of around $800.00 that summer. I was duped into thinking it was a ""surge in the electrical grid or a black out"" that caused the problem. After discussing the mistake with an electrical expert I now know that I was misled. Rick (the owner) was 100% dishonest with me and now I've been forced to go and tell my friends that I had referred to him that I can no longer endorse this company. If you need a referral for AC check out ANGIES list. You can also read a more detailed description of my grievance with Rick at Craig's Mechanical and Air Conditioning on the Angie's list website.

I have used Craig Mechanical of Monrovia (described here as Craig Plumbing Heating and HVAC as they do both HVAC and plumbing) a few times but the visit this week was particularly satisfactory so I felt they deserved a favorable review. Jorge, one of their HVAC technicians, showed up slightly early for the 9-11 a.m. window set by the receptionist for the day after I called. My five ton 1989 Carrier Freon 22 upstairs-only system was not working. First, I told the polite receptionist as well as Jorge when he arrived that I was not comparing competitive bids from the many competitors but I expected transparent competitive pricing. Jorge explained the hourly labor charge and was in a position to state any parts prices off the top of his head (I am not suggesting that Craig is not marking up parts and materials; I have no objection to their making such a profit but with a breakdown the reasonably intelligent consumer can evaluate the costs simply based on what it takes to bring these advanced parts and materials all the way to the homeowner). Jorge diagnosed the several problems quickly, and furthermore was able to explain the mechanics better than I have previously understood them. For example I was able to understand for the first time the higher pressure utilized with current EPA required refrigerants in brand new systems and how the relocation of my present large condenser would entail a complete refill of the very expensive older refrigerant, as opposed to only topping it up in the existing configuration (which I ultimately needed to do at a material cost per pound, as that was one of the problems) or replacing the old system entirely with a new system using currently EPA approved refrigerants (which come loaded with the expensive refrigerant as part of the unit price). I also learned that condensation drip I witnessed last year was the backup system because the pump that conveys condensation to the regular waste lines had been out for a while. Finally I learned something that I had forgotten or never knew, which is that the newer downstairs HVAC which I have used only for heating actually already has cooling coils and all I need is the condenser. Basically in two hours Jorge got the old upstairs system working like new and by explaining to me the principles as he went along, and answering numerous questions of balance, flow, filtration and air quality, I feel much better informed as the consumer. I thought all the prices were reasonable, taking into account that actual expertise, refrigerant, and high tech parts have a material cost although I can argue these industries bring us amazing value for the money. I'd far rather pay a bit more for a job I can understand anyway. Good professional job, Jorge and Craig.
