JT came out for an emergency call concerning a faulty light switch, and was not only great at his job, but he was nice. He also took the time to answer all my questions.
I also appreciated the manager's quick response, and how nice he was.
I definitely recommend this company!

I've used these guys for various repairs and maintenance of the years, so I can only speak to that. Every engagement I've had with them has been fantastic and they get people out to me quick. I don't know what's going on with these other people but from a maintenance\repair perspective (mostly HVAC and drain cleaning) I've been extremely pleased.

I am completely outraged with this service.
I called them to have my furnace tune up done before winter. Two technicians came out and started working on my furnace.
After they completed the service they addressed some issues they found with the system that were not critical.
Their ""thorough"" inspection of the system also included checking the pressure relief valve, which they stated to be ""in good shape"".
After reinspecting their work I found that the pressure relief valve was completely stuck frozen shut!?
THEY HADN'T CHECKED IT AT ALL
I can't believe both technicians completely disregarded checking a VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE!
And then they lied in their work report stating that the ""relief valve is in good condition"".
Their negligence came at the cost of my safety because a stuck closed relief valve could have led to a DEADLY EXPLOSION!

I called an actual diligent plumber who replaced the relief valve for me. He was in shock that the Cotti Johnson technicians were so careless!

If you had work done by these guys make sure you get a real plumber to check their work! I warned you.?

They were very fast at responding and having a experienced tech come out. Tech and sales guys were respectful and knowledgeable BUT they quoted me 14,000$ for a new oil furnace. Got other quotes and they were way more than all the other companies. I got a better furnace replacement for half of what I would have paid going through cotti. Again their tech was great and knowledgeable and everyone was very helpful but 14k for an oil furnace install is absolutely over priced.

The positive: the HVAC system itself that they installed seems to be working fine. They also make financing fairly simple. They were also very responsive initially. But after they started the work the responsiveness ceased. They initially told me I didn't need my ducts replaced, even though the existing ducts in the house hadn't been used for years if not decades. I initially agreed to save an extra $2k, but once they started doing the work I decided to just get the ducts replaced too. I called the guy I was working with twice and left voicemails but he never called back. There was also an issue where the sales guy I worked with didn't share information with the installation guys about which electric heaters I wanted to keep installed. This resulted in them having to stay a little longer to re-do some work, and they were clearly frustrated. The guys on site finished the job and left. A couple weeks later I reached out to the company and left an e-inquiry to again request the duct work but got no response. I then called a different company who came out and did the work. They were shocked Cotti even said they could be re-used because they were in bad condition and filled with mice droppings and nests. No wonder I started getting foul smells in the house once the HVAC started blowing! I hoped Cotti would be my go-to company for HVAC work as well as future generator installation but, unfortunately, I don't think I can count on them at all.

I had this company come out to do annual service on boiler, while there i showed him a shower that I wanted installed and asked for a quote. They got back to me two weeks later with quote, it was expensive but I figured they have seen the job so shouldn't be any surprises. Tech came out to do Install (I re arranged work and kids coverage to meet him that day) and after 30 minutes there the tech said he was unable to do the job. The company never followed up or returned my calls/emails.

Had a couple minor electrical issues...flickering light, non-working outlet. Electrician came out within a couple days, fixed the issues quickly and the cost was very reasonable.

The service was great. The telephone communication was accurate. The professional service and friendly electrician was great. He explained everything to me. Did a complimentary examination of my electrical panel and exterior wiring. Gave me 2 detailed work estimates. Was thorough and explained his finished job.

Matt and his crew showed up on time today and completed all aspects of the Generac whole house generator installation in a timely and friendly manner even in the rain early in the day. This included the propane connections, transfer box installation, ground preparation (on a slope), solid base pad and placement of the generator. The team seemed to enjoy their work and working together under Matt. That makes all the difference! I look forward to breezing through the required inspections (gas and electric) that will also be arranged by Cotti Johnson.

I recently had my gas boiler stop igniting and required service. I noticed this on a Sat afternoon. I am not a registered customer with this company, but I was given their name as a recommended service for my boiler. When I called and left a voice mail, I was promptly called back to sign up for a service dispatch. I was initially told ""if we come tomorrow, Sunday, there is a $400 service fee, just for showing up"". I thought that was a bit much, seeing I was probably going to be spending at least that much for my repairs. I asked for the week day and would stick out the cold Sunday, as to not incur a weeks salary for the ""emergency fee"". While I was waiting, I went up online, youtube, etc.. and diagnosed my boiler issue as a bad pilot assembly, thermo couple. I had everything I needed to back up this diagnosis. When the tech arrived, he agreed with my assessment, and started to look there. He did not have the part in his vehicle and had to drive to F.W. Webb to get the parts. He arrived back after an hour or so, and had the replacement part. He went on to get the boiler going, so my diagnosis and hypothesis were correct. When I got the invoice, I saw that I was billed $273 for a $45 part. When I called the company to speak to the dispatcher about the invoice I asked if this was a mistake, and she said ""I'll check with the service manager"" put me on hold for 10 seconds tops, came back and said ""yes that is the correct price"". I said ""even if FW webb says its a $45 part?"", and she said ""yes that is what we charge"". I was taken back a bit, being in the service trade. I know there is a markup fee, but this was like 500% markup. The technician was helpful and friendly, and they did fix my boiler when I was in dire straights. But then to be gouged on the parts, that is something I could not understand. I was going to get a quote on replacement, and sign up for service, but the gouging of the part, and the ""yup, that's what we charge"" did not sit well, so I will take my business elsewhere... Cautionary tale, get some pricing up front from this company... its a shame too.
