Called up and set up appointments twice and they kept cancelling and wanting to reschedule.
Had Cornel's come out yesterday. Nathan was great. Even liked dogs. Had the problem(drain) fixed within an hour and left the area cleaner than when he came. Really great. This is my second service call and both have been fantastic.
J D.The guy came in and resolved our kitchen sink clogging problem in one hour. I had tried myself with Home Depot tool and couldn't unclog it though the price is not cheap.
Jake at Cornel's Plumbing was fantastic! We have been using Cornel's Plumbing for many years. This recent visit was due to a ghost flushing sound from our downstairs powder bath. Jake came out the next day and diagnosed the issue right away. Given the age, condition, and brand of the three toilets in our home, Jake provided two options for needed maintenance repairs on them versus replacement. He provided us with the estimates for both options and the pros and cons to each. We decided to replace all three toilets and are very happy with the decision and the quality of his work. We highly recommend Cornel's Plumbing and Jake!
As soon as I said I lived in an apartment/condo complex, I was told they don't service apartments. If I lived in an actual house, they would have accepted my business. That should be CLEARLY stated on the website!
Bill S.They do fine work, I guess? The people who bought my old place in Beaverton haven't sued me, so I assume they're fine in terms of what they do, but I will not hire them again, and I will not even have them bid jobs in my home again.
For my most recent job I had them bid two hose bib replacements and assistance with a wonky shower handle. They bid the highest by around 30% on the hose bibs which wasn't criminal even though it was steep. For the shower handle, I was quoted that the cartridge was busted and that it required a full replacement. $1100. In their bid they claimed this diagnosis based on ... nothing! I had full view of the estimating plumber: He never turned the shower fixture on, he just jiggled the handle a little, and made assumptions.
The plumber who beat them came lower on the hose bibs, even though he was second highest of all the other bids that I got. There was, however, no charge for the shower handle issue though, as it was a matter of a loose screw. The cartridge was absolutely fine. I've been using the shower off and on for two weeks now and it's all good.
I don't object to paying more sometimes, but I STRENUOUSLY resent being lied to or shined. I paid for the privilege of them coming to my house and lying to me, so I'm done.
M C.09-25-24 received good service from tech Avery and dispatcher Hannah. $98 diagnostic visit was reasonably priced and Tech Avery was very thorough, not a hit and run callout. Needed in-depth analysis of whether to fix or replace working older Trane air condenser. Got reliable-sounding report of cost to repair lots of parts on last leg. Used other Pdx heating cooling company who made me feel like on a used car lot wading thru BS words and convoluted info designed to confuse this HVAC non-expert and just turn over my wallet to be emptied. Pleased that I got the service requested. Thanks.
Several neighbors had issues with excessive water pressure affecting fixtures so I thought it good to have this checked. I contacted Cornel's plumbing to see if my home had a water pressure regulator and they said the could provide a complimentary check. Tech came and found my incoming water pressure was 60psi which is within spec but no pressure regulator was present in my home. He said it was a good practice to have one of these valves in case pressure coming from the City increased. He showed me in my basement the section of pipe he would install the valve and quoted me $2000 for the job. I initially said ok and scheduled the job which required a 50% down payment of $1000. After asking a few neighbors about the price for this job, I came to the conclusion that the quote for this job was grossly overpriced as the part was only $100-200 with the job to connect the valve taking no more than 1 hour. So I cancelled the appointment 4 business days in advance and asked for a refund of my deposit. I was immediately contacted by a person at Cornel's plumbing asking why I cancelled my appointment to which I stated that they were excessively pricing their services. She tried to negotiate the price of the job asking me what price I would accept the job and I cut her off there stating I was uncomfortable working with a group whose pricing starts with grossly overcharging someone until they are called out. My refund just posted, and Cornel's shorted me $50, so much for the complimentary first visit. Based on this experience, they've lost my business for life.
Yelp AI got me sorted out with this company. I just wanted a simple repair on my shower knob. I paid the 49$ service fee and then was quoted a whopping $1,246.53!! I ended up looking up what the problem could be and got the parts at Home Depot and repaired it myself for under 30$. Scammers!!!
Jake was genuinely one of the best people I've ever worked with for my house. He as punctual, communicative and honest about what could and couldn't be done and went out of his way to help solve our water heater problem. Highly recommended.
