We originally had issues with our HVAC (AC) not cooling properly for the first and second levels of our home.

In the past we had another HVAC service firm whom we parted ways with due to unsound business practices (they suggested replacement of $5,000 AC units even though they only had a small leak. The other firm also replaced parts that could have been fixed and there was a pattern of constant upsell and overcharging (we verified this with independent professionals). This led us to Cork's here in Huntley, and it was a great decision.

Cork's sent someone very quickly, even though there were many other customers with similar issues this time of year. Gil did the original inspection and then Frank (owner) came a day later as we had to wait for the coils to defrost completely, which made sense. Both were very knowledgeable and trustworthy. They did not give me a bunch of BS about replacing the entire unit, but rather refilled the Puron and injected a dye/sealant. We will monitor it over the next year and call them if we notice issues. They suggested that these 2008 units should have a decent lifespan (possibly up to 20 years if built well) and that most repairs can be done part-wise as things are properly diagnosed over time and replaced. This built a lot of trust with me out of the gate. All of Frank's employees work directly for him, not on commissions, and you don't get the sense there's a constant 'upsell' or 'vague rationale' for larger more costly replacements.

The other very great experience was this. We had two toilets that for over year now have been refilling their water tanks on their own constantly (and increasing water $). I replaced the intakes and flappers myself twice to no avail. Frank took the time to fix both toilets in a matter of minutes and knew exactly what the problem was, right during the service for the HVAC. It was nice of him to make the time as I know he was already in hurry to his next appointment but wanted to make sure I was a satisfied customer.

We appreciate Cork's business ethics, professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond for customers.

The worst company !They over charged us 3 times the price....do not hire these crooks who took advantages over senior people !! we hire the for change the furnace ( the air condition works excellent) only for furnace they charged us 2900$ -furnace cost under 1400$...and ,because the new furnace what just replaced did not have space they told us to replaced our air ,they will charged us 3700 for both...so we agree in finally ,they change the furnace ,and air coil ,and because was in December they told us that will finished the job in spring ,so today we call frank ,the owner of company ,and he told us that we have to pay extra 3900 $...what ??? you told us 3700$ both in December ,and now 3900$ only the air ,if not pay he not finished the job...this is cork's company ...the worse experience of our life ...both seniors ,ant the wife is disabled senior...he do not care about people!

Frank, came to my rescue again! This morning my kitchen sink was totally clogged, tried Drano and nothing helped, called Cork's and Frank was out this afternoon and fixed my sink! During this Pandemic every thing is more stressful, so glad they were there for me! Thank you so much!

I own a construction company and know most local companies. When the plumber I knew moved and retired, I tried Corks for my own home. They were extremely nice over the phone, did more than what I had asked for and came in at a very reasonable price. After meeting them at my home I realized their family owned company is very similar to my own in which they truly care about the customer. I have used many plumbers and theses guys are not only honest but very good at what they do. I will not only refer my future customers to them but I will call them when I need to for my own home.

The fire sprinkler in my basement sprung a leak. I called Cork's because they're local and was not disappointed. Even though it was after hours, Frank was over that evening and got everything fixed. I'm a big fan of local businesses and I will be calling Frank again to handle the maintenance on my HVAC system.

Hot water tank crapped out and leaked all over my utility room floor. Made several calls and Frank (President) was quick to return my call with a very competitive price and immediate availability. Had him out and he had that new water heater fired up ready to go in no time! Seriously impressed with his level of professionalism and meticulous skillset. Not only do I highly recommend Frank, but he is going to be ""my guy"" going forward for all my plumbing needs!

Not happy at all with the customer service of this company. They didn't show up twice, no phone call informing me they wouldn't be able to make it. I had to reach out to them both times to find out when they were coming considering it was past the appointed time frame. I believe they chose not to make me a priority because I wasn't interested in installing a new humidifier, it just needed to be fixed and they were estimating the cost of repair almost compared to the cost of replacing, sounded a little unjustified to me. However, they lost my business due to two cancelations within a week span and no communication informing me they wouldn't make it, only an option of rescheduling for a third time. I would not recommend seeking this company out for work, as they are not reliable. Within a months span it took to schedule with them, I could have had my humidifier fixed by now, very disappointed.
