Wow. I got myself into a pickle trying to DIY a fix on my shower faucet and got to ugly-town in no time. Don personally showed up, saved the day, and did it with professionalism, transparency and didn't make me feel like a screwball. Very clear to me that he's FOR his clients and for that, has my highest respect as a service provider.

My toilet accidentally overflowed causing water damage to my unit and the neighboring unit. I didn't know a plumber and contacted one recommended to me by another worker on the property. The plumber was from a different company, came out and rebuilt my toilet with new parts, but even after I had the work confirmed by a leak detection company as having ""NO Leaks"", the Restoration company observed the toilet leaking under the tank. This was within 3 weeks of the repairs from a plumber I couldn't find a license number for or on BBB. I did a google search and found Core Plumbing with a BBB rating of A+ and good reviews. The owner, Don, spoke to me over the phone and listened to my situation and status of construction and repairs. He recommended work could be done upon completion of reconstruction. My situation was somewhat unusual and challenging as my neighbor had threatened to sue me over an ""accident"" and my being subjected to her emotional and reactive behavior with her writing the HOA and telling them lies. Needless to say, with this stress and the added stress of covid and people coming in and out my unit, it took every ounce of my energy to remain positive and take care of the issues at hand. Core Plumbing/Don and his crew were understanding as I told them not to discuss anything with neighbors. They were professional and knew their craft. Eric took pride in his work and is very ethical and professional. Don made recommendations to assure I would receive the best product and service. Tim and his helper made sure all residents in the building were notified of a possible water shut off and preparing for the return work. Upon removal of the toilet, Don recommended a new flange to assure the new toilet was seated properly as the old one was worn and sunk in. This involved another procedure which included another day to wait and I was without my only toilet overnight. Don and Eric returned the next day and not only did they do a beautiful job installing and testing the product, they took the time to explain the process and answer any questions I had. Because of the ""sensitivity"" of my situation to make sure there would be no further leaks, all steps during the process was inspected by owner Don and I learned the difference between real professional plumbers and the first gentleman I used. Don went out of his way going beyond what he was required to do to make sure I was taken care of and felt safe with a new toilet and professional installation. Thank you! I recommended them highly! Plumbing isn't a cheap service and if you need to get plumbing done, it would be best to call the best company and avoid unnecessary costs later! I learned my lesson with the first guy and could have used that money elsewhere. Now I feel comfortable in my home and know if I have any issues whatsoever, I can call Don and have it handled. Core Plumbing - you have won my confidence! Thank you! I have already recommended you to others.

The employees at Core plumbing are hard workers and Josh came over and fixed my kitchen sink that was backed up. He did everything that needed to be done perfectly. Thank you for your friendly smiles.

Core plumbing recently determined that we had a slab leak, and rather than going thru a very expensive and time consuming process of trying to find the leak that due to the age of our home (built in 1967) it would be in our best interest to repipe the house and run all the lines thru the attic. This was not an inexpensive option either but in the long run we also believe it to be the best option.
Their work was as professional as I've ever seen, and it was obvious they knew exactly what they were doing. They were always on time and very well organized, and the people they used were very respectful and courteous. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future. Thanks!

Very long story short, I booked online for a 3-6 PM window on Friday. At 5:45 (fifteen minutes before the window was to end), I called to find out where they were. The owner (?) told me that I had called earlier to cancel (I had NOT). I called BS and he then started apologizing and said he would arrange to come the following week at a very specific time. I told him that I work from home and had a call at that time but could do any other one but that. He said no, that was the ONLY time he could come. When he refused to even try to see if his earlier appt. might switch to the one he had offer me, I said never mind. I ended up finding someone else (via Yelp, thank you!) who showed up exactly on time, after calling ahead to make sure we knew when he would arrive. In short, this guy decided to bail on a Friday afternoon appt. and did the bare minimum to try to salvage his reputation. Well, mission accomplished! You get the vaunted 1 STAR!!! Congrats!

Follow up after first defensive reply.

After reading the sarcastic reply from the owner's son, am even more convinced I dodged a bullet. To anyone reading, I wrote things down EXACTLY as they happened, aside from not going into more detail about how the owner sounded annoyed with me for trying to get a price for the work, since he promised ""to discount"" whatever he was going to charge. Without knowing how much it would have cost originally, he could have just charged that much more and then ""said"" he was going to take off that same amount. Advice when replying on Yelp as a vendor: if you are going to apologize, do so without any caveats or ""Yeah, but"" clarifications. You might have a chance at gaining sympathy. As for having followers, I don't need to have ANY for people to read how this situation occurred. But you can be sure everyone I know in Del Mar/RSF/Carmel Valley will hear about your bailing on the job, followed up by the dismissive reply. Peace, out!

Follow up after SECOND defensive reply.

Here is my last response after another defensive reply from Mr. Thin Skin where he tries to defend his poor behavior and continues to make a bad situation worse:

I am NOT a troll and check out the review I sent to one of your competitors after they did a GREAT job, exactly when they said they would and with no if, ands or buts (spoiler alert: FIVE STARS!!!). I wasn't ""defaming"" your business. Your dad was not willing to even TRY to move another appointment for the following Monday, even after admitting his mistake. How is that helpful? I literally told him I was open ANY other time of the day except for the single hour he said he could come. If the situation on Friday was a ""legitimate"" mistake, I think he might have at least seen if he could reschedule the earlier call to accommodate before telling me no.

Then instead of trying to follow up to see if I got things resolved, I never heard from you again, UNTIL you go on Yelp and see that there's a negative review. At that point, you write out a pseudo-apology, combined with an insult. Now, I will give you some advice that I doubt you will take: ""when you find yourself in a ditch, stop digging"". If you'd rather keep flinging defensive replies, then please... kindly stop digging.

What started as noticing some moisture around the toilet quickly turned into a nightmare due to some poorly installed toilet flanges that had been leaking into the floor for a long time. Luckily I called Core Plumbing.

Tim, Zac, and Grant all came out on separate occasions to get everything back to normal, and I can honestly say I've never met a nicer and more capable group of plumbers. They explained everything clearly along the way and made sure it was all done right, unlike whoever previously installed everything. They were also able to set me up with a really great leak detection company and a restoration company that restored my bathroom to better than it was before.

I highly recommend Core Plumbing and would not hesitate calling them again for all my plumbing needs.

My tankless water heater decided to die on me the other morning and I found myself in a tight spot. I looked around online for a local/family operated business with solid reviews and was lucky enough to come across Core Plumbing. Don answered the phone and after a few questions was able to upfront and honestly tell me the bad news - the unit was likely not repairable and would need to be replaced. In any case he said he'd have someone out to evaluate the situation in person and give me a quote only a few hours later. I received a text saying that Core Plumbing would be at my house earlier than expected (nice!) and if that worked with me they'd be right over. It turns out the existing unit was not sufficient for the home, not installed to code, and was a health concern as well! Fumes were entering the house as the existing unit had been installed right under a window I keep open pretty much 24/7... I'll be calling the OLD plumber for an immediate explanation.

Core was able to find the perfect new location (in a safe spot and to code) all while taking advantage of some existing lines in order to keep the cost down - something I immensely appreciated. Shout out to Erik who showed up exactly when he said he would, worked diligently the whole time, stopped to answer my questions with patience during the install, and was all around exactly the type of person you would want on your property and working on your home. The new unit works perfectly and he left the job site spotless.

Core Plumbing helped me out of a jam in a hurry, fixed existing issues, and ultimately did exactly what they said they'd do. They have earned this glowing review by exceeding expectations. Nice job, fellas.

If you want professional, skilled craftsman who know what they are doing call Core Plumbing. Had a leak in the middle of the floor (of course under the concrete slab, on the weekend), called Core and Don got back us in in 30 minutes, gave us the name of leak detection service (Jeff at Pulse Leak Detection, also great). Jeff came Tuesday identified the leak and Don had a quote in 3 hours. Decided to go with redirecting a pipe and a new water heater (which we needed anyhow), they scheduled service 1 day out. Arrived 10 minutes early Thursday with a crew of 5. Tim and crew, professional all around and made sure my wife and I understood what they were doing. Two solid days of work and water was back on. Can't recommend them highly enough. Doug B.
