Called for a simple cleaning/maintenance check of A/C mini split unit that was functioning fine before they touched it. They sent a guy who did not seem to know what he was doing that proceeded to remove the dirty filters from the unit and wash them out in my kitchen sink (very UN-professional). He then tore the unit apart he claims to ""clean the coils"" $400.00 later he says ""I'm all done"" and promptly asks to be paid which he was. On the way out the door he briefly mentions ""oh by the way we developed a slight vibration after I put everything back together and you need a new bearing to fix it"" After he left and the unit was turned on it vibrated so bad we thought it was coming off the wall! When we contacted the company to find out what happened they said ""you do not need a new bearing you need a whole new motor and fan""! I said this unit is less then five years old since you people installed it and was working fine before you touched it? Tim from customer service tried to explain that it was the dust on the coils that kept it from vibrating and now that they cleaned it it is out of balance causing the vibration. This made no sense and when I offered to pay for the part they claimed it needed if they would install it since they caused the problem I was promptly hung up on by Tim.
I would never use this company again and would caution others as well.
DO NOT HIRE.
Paul came to my home to look at a leaking sink faucet. Paul was at my home for under 30 minutes and charged me $187 to tell me that the faucet could not be repaired and I would need to replace it. He took pictures and told me he'd share them with the parts guy and follow up. A week later I called back having not heard and spoke to the part guy. The parts guy said Paul never spoke with him but that he would follow up with me, which he also did not do. In the meantime, I repaired the faucet myself at zero cost -- I needed new parts but I contacted the manufacturer and they were happy to send them. I continued playing phone tag with Stanley Cooper to try to talk to someone who would refund me for the useless visit. The operations manager was defensive, unaccountable and the call ended up with me hanging up to write this review.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! A couple of years ago they installed a brand new HVAC system that they recommended. Spent near $7000. Every year since then we had problems -there would replace a bad coil or leaks that are turning up. It took them a week to come out to look then charged me $236 for a piping leak. Last September they supposedly fixed another leak. I never had this with my old unit. This was all supplied by them.
If anyone is looking to replace your heating air conditioning unit. don't hesitate Call Stanley W Cooper Heating and Air Conditioning Inc I have a unit at the Reserve At Qwynedd. This system is. Is unique at least it was to me nothing was a problem with Cooper's team They are great and efficient. I could not have been happier with my choice. Here is their 215-678-8100. From the person answering the phone to the techs that come out. Each were fabulous. It's a team that you can't loose with at all and that could not be better
P S.Stanley came to our help when the original contractor had shut down due to COVID. He brought his team of experts to change our heater, install a heat pump and mini splits, fix all the problems that the original contractors had caused with the ducts and vents and grills, bring everything up to code and replace our hot water heater with a tankless one. Mark was his project manager and came to review everything every day, Chuck drove from Bethlehem to center city 5 days ina row and with the help of his assistant they did an amazing job to do everything on our long list of jobs. They were patient, accommodating, shared information, clean and knowledgeable. After two years of frustration it was so worth the wait to work with this fantastic team.
This is a real shame. We had used this company for years and moved and then used them again. Over the past 2 years, they have gotten more and more difficult to deal with - not returning messages, not following through.... We had still stuck with them because we had a relationship with them.
I called to make our annual maintenance and scheduled an appointment. I asked several questions including a question about why we are seeing mold growing out of a vent from the AC which was newly installed less than 2 years ago. (Our heating system is not ducted) The following day, they called to cancel the appointment and stated they would not come out.
As I have mentioned, we had used this company for years. This makes it seem like they won't take responsibility for their work.
When I came on to write this review, I was met with other reviews, all 1 star. I had no idea this was other people's experience with this company and am so disappointed to now join the ranks of customers rating this company at a 1.
Chef L.This company is terrible. The owner doesn't return calls. The VP Operations doesn't return calls. Their techs are out of shape and can't climb stairs, and give you an attitude when you ask them to move their vehicle. I would never recommend this company.
I'd used Stanley Cooper Plumbing one time in 2014, to replace an in-sink garbage disposal unit, and it went well. Their tech showed up on time, had the tools and fitting to replace the part, and the price was fair.
So, I called them again August 2016 when I needed two small plumbing problems fixed. The tech that showed up very negative. The copper faucet manifold needed to be replaced, which I expected.
But I also wanted the tech to remove and check / replace my hot water heater anode (I have unusually hard water, and I've already had one anode replace after 4 years.) But tech tried to argue with me, telling me that he ""didn't have a new on the truck"" and the hot water sounds that occurred the first time the anode corroded away (gassing at the faucets, banging in the water pipes when I turned that hot water faucets on and off) weren't the problem. According to him, anode deterioration is linked to water tastes.
I explained that my previous plumber (that had installed the hot water heater) knew exactly what the problem was with the plumbing noises.
Instead, at 8:15 this morning, I got a contentious plumber who told ME that what *I* wanted wasn't what I wanted!
His suggestion was to call a different plumber. So, I did that, AND SO SHOULD YOU! I'll never call Stanley Cooper Plumbing again.
First Lennox heat pump failed after 2 years, bad install, ""green slime."" Parts covered but $2,000 in labor not. 5 years later unit died, same issue from bad install. Shopping for a brand new unit, almost $8,000 down the drain in about 7 years.
