Amber H.The AC unit went out in the townhouse and Cooper Heating and Air was my third quote to replace the AC and furnace. I found William to be very knowledgeable and able to explain what needed to happen and what unit was the best option to invest it. The installers came and were clean and appropriate and able to install the units over the course of the day and by 5 pm we had cool air with the correct sized units to cool and heat the home! The new digital controller is nice too! Being that they partner with Costco who has backed every purchase I have ever made it gave me that extra sense of security. Very happy with this purchase and this company!
Lori W.Charged $129 to look at the system to not fix a single thing to tell us it would cost another $350 to clean the fan to get the air conditioner to cool effectively!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!!
Seth L.The appointment started off with a text message and email with a link to the technician's (Greg) GPS location on a map and an estimate of his arrival. This was super helpful because I was working from home and I could prepare and react to his exact arrival time. I have an older system that isn't cooling well and Greg patiently and clearly walked me through what he was doing to inspect and evaluate it. He taught me a lot about how airflow and temperature transfer works, and made me feel comfortable with making informed decisions about the remediation options. He was also great with my dogs. Thanks Greg!
We bought our new AC from Cooper a few years ago and have been pleased with it. Last week, it wouldn't come on, so we scheduled a service visit. They sent out a technician who quickly diagnosed the issue and only charged us a nominal service fee. So glad that it was a simple fix that didn't cost anything but our time.
The people at Cooper have been great to work with and are very responsive. I highly recommend them.
Rep tried to upsell me everywhere, I was lied to about a few things including the condition of my furnace and the thermostat offered. They charged on average 800 to 1k more than other hvac companies, and botched the install. My furnace stopped working randomly and after calling home warranty for 3 visits we found out the problem was caused by a horrible ac install, and found out they hid problems such as freezing lines (due to improperly installed connections to coil) without telling me. I ended up paying 100 bucks for home warranty to take a look due completely to their horrible install since they held the possibility of a 129 dollar charge in front of me if it turned out it wasn't an ac problem. They did the wiring improperly, lied about checking the coil, mixed up the coil vapor/liquid line inputs, hid a freezing problem (that happened because of the improper install in the first place), gave me the cheapest crappiest thermostat compared to literally ever other hvav company and forgot to install the backplate, forgot about 1lb of refrigerant because of the freezing problem they tried to cover up, all while charging a premium.
Note this could be just one bad install experience, and I am calling to see if they will hold to their customer service guarentee and fix this as well as refund me the cost of my home warranty visit that was completely due to their failed install, if they do this I will happily increase the rating due to good customer service, but as of now I feel scammed, ripped off, and now stuck with a half working ac.
Ash H.We went with these guys in May 2019 to install our hot water heater that we got through Costco. They were quick, got the proper permits (which doesn't always happen with other companies), and did a great job. We love the new heater. We had an issue this week with a rotten egg smell coming from the heater. A tech came out -- usually a $129 service fee but they waived that since we had some corrosion (which they fixed) on the top copper pipes connecting to the unit. Apparently there are some chemicals in the water causing the rotten egg smell. Haven't had the issue since and we don't smell it in any of our pipes. Going to do a flush of the tank soon though - they also walked us through how to do that, which was very nice.
Purchased HVAC (Furnace, air conditioner, humidifier) through Costco. Units were installed by Cooper HVAC. No issues with installation, and prices very reasonable and fair.
My sole gripe is with their prepaid annual maintenance plans. They seem like a good deal offering reasonable savings. But buyer beware, they are not refundable, and are not transferrable.
Perhaps this is industry standard, I don't know. However, I purchased a1 yr maintenance plan in Aug, 2018 when the units were installed. In Aug 2019, they cam out and serviced the units and did a good job. I was pleased. So I purchased another annual service plan for 2020 expecting to have them service my HVAC units again n Aug 2020. The trouble is, things change, and we moved away in March 2020 well ahead of the prepaid planned service in Aug 2020.
I contacted Cooper and requested a refund to which they informed me that all prepaid yearly service agreements are neither refundable nor transferable. Sure enough, right there in the Disclosure section of the Annual Maintenance Agreement, it states that Maintenance Agreements are not refundable or transferable. Shame on me for not fully reading the agreement. So I am simply out of luck, and out $228.
I just want the buyer to beware while the savings associated with a Cooper Annual Maintenance Agreement may be an incentive to purchase, PLEASE READ THE DISCLOSURE as it states that these agreements are not refundable, not transferrable.
Expensive lesson learned!!!
John J.Will not use them again. They just laid off the entire call center today and are outsourcing it. Also check your actual work done as we were given an estimate for $1100 but they only did 400 worth of work. Had to call them to investigate and they did refund us $600 but if we didnt call we wouldn't have got the money back.
Our hot water heater started leaking this past weekend. We have previous experience with Cooper Heating & Cooling in servicing our heating and air conditioning system. One call to their 24/7 service on Sunday morning enabled us to arrange for a replacement water heater on Monday morning. The installers were prompt and very courteous. They made sure everything was completed as specified. We had hot water again before lunchtime. I will be recommending Cooper Heating & Cooling to our friends and family.
Karen C.We just had Cooper install a new Lennox AC and Furnace with a whole house Aprilair 800 Steam Humidifier and Merv 11 filter. I had no heat for a week in December, but wanted to get bids from several local pros. When I finally decided on Cooper, they had a crew out the next day installing my new furnace, and by that afternoon I had heat. What ultimately won my business was that their installation professionals were certified with NATE and Xcell. Plus, they had to pass a background check. They are also the preferred vendor through Costco which will help further discount your price. The Lennox brand has a lot of conflicting information Nationally. Their biggest complaints are part availability and they only allow certified Lennox techs to service their equipment. In Colorado, Lennox has a parts facility open 24 hours making this issue non-existent. After seeing the engineering in this system, you wouldn't want anyone but a certified Lennox repair person and you may pay more per visit long term. We were incredibly impressed with the level of service and expertise from sales to install. We had a highly trained crew making sure we got a system that would improve the quality of comfort in our home. Cooper delivered that without a high pressure sales experience. It really felt like they were friends and community members working for a company they believed in. Cooper is an asset to our community and I can't wait to see them again every twelve months for our annual maintenance.
