I purchased a complete hvac system in may 2020 this was from cool today. I have had over and over failures starting with the day after install. They have replaced sensors, capacitors, dan motors, even the compressor. The quality of the product, the time required to get someone out the time to get parts and the communication from their people is very poor. To say the least I believe I made a poor choice. Unfortunately the system is just over 3 years old and still has about 6 1/2 years left of warranty so I am tied to them.

Nevin was professional, genuine and had our best interest in his presentation and offerings for a new AC unit. Anthony and Esteban were very technical and took pride in their install. Polite, respectful and made certain of our satisfaction prior to their departure. Brenden was extremely helpful with a previous service call. As a member in the service industry, I am sensitive and may offer a critique.... highly recommend Cool Today!

Caesar came to install a $1k chandelier. He broke our light bulbs from mishandling while installing and claimed that their company will take care of it. Caesar even reached out to his manager and gave us a number to call. We called the manager immediately and he never picked up. The management never reached back out to us for the damages and the loss was never compensated. We have reciepts and photos of the damage. We do not recommend utilizing them! They will break your things and will not do anything about it!

Do not use this company!!! They tried to fix our air conditioner. They came out 3 times. They kept ordering parts and charging us. The final straw was another $1500! We called another company, they came out and fixed the wires that Cool Today mixed up. Problem solved by another company in less than an hour. Avoid Cool Today!!!

Cool Today has been dishonest from day 1. The salesman sold my parents 2 industrial strength AC units for a 1,500 sqft condo. My parents were 79 and 80 at the time and believed the salesman to be honest when he suggested two wildly oversized AC units. That's the beginning. Since that time, service and repairs have been needed, tonight being a fix to the brand new thermostat placed in the second floor. If you want or need an HVAC replacement, repair, or redo... don't. Do Not call Cool Today. Why? Because you won't be! You won't be cool today or tomorrow... Unless of course you pay the $59.00 service fee each time to come out and fix what should have never broke in the first place. Sincerely, Mr. Frustrated and taken advantage of...

My wife discovered wet carpet in the guest bedroom just outside of where our A/C air handler is housed in the wall. This had happened before and obviously was due to the condensation drain being clogged at some point. A cursory check of the outside drain pipe did not fix the problem so I went online to COOL TODAY and requested a Tune-Up on each of our 2 A/C units (as website itemized the Tune-Up including cleaning out the condensation drain.) The Service Rep - or Repairman - showed up as scheduled. When I told him the problem he explained that his trip was a Service Call with a standard charge of $89, and if I wanted the units Tuned Up it would be an additional $89 each. I explained that the Tune-Up is what I requested in setting up the appointment online, but that did not matter. I told him to go ahead with the Tune-Ups. He requested to do an outside check and returned informing me that the units were UNSERVICEABLE. The explanation was that my units were rather old (22 years old) and the Freon/coolant that it uses is no longer available (or """"legal"""", don't remember the reason). I was told this same """"story"""" 23 years ago when my previous A/C units needed servicing. I had to find an A/C repairman who did not sell new units to fix it then. AND, this time, I called my wife's nephew - who is an automobile mechanic - to come over and check the condensation drain (as at 84 I can no longer do it myself). He did and corrected the problem, and my unit is cooling just fine in this the hottest summer on record. (It's true when they say, """"It's hard to stop a Trane"""".) Sure it is 22 years old but it has run those years like a top, and the nephew """"serviced"""" it. So, COOL TODAY may deem your older unit """"unserviceable"""" and not attempt a repair.

On August 3, 2023 my thermostat and central a/c stopped working. I called for service and come to find out that my drain lines were clogged and the inside pan of my attic air handler had water which triggered the safe switch to turn off the a/c and thermostat. I have a CoolToday twice per year CarePlus maintenance service contract that has a 60 days drain line coverage guaranteed. Well, my drain clogged again before the 60 days were up, and they refused to honor the guarantee. The Total bill was $354.00 which included a newly installed $59.00 pan guard chemical strip that helps kill algae and the new strip also has a No clog drain line guarantee for 6 months. The drain guard must be replaced every 6 months. So on August 3, 2023, CoolToday charged me $295.00 to clean the drain line again (which was also done on June 6, 2023 under the maintenance service contract with a drain line 60 days guarantee ). Other a/c Service companies charge between $80.00 and $150.00 to clean the drain line. I was charged $295.00 for cleaning drain line that was already cleaned under a maintenance contract 58 days prior, which pan and line clogged on August 2, 2023 and was cleaned again on August 3, 2023, before the 60 days were up. I got a small credit when I called to complain to CoolToday not honoring guarantees. But the credit was not enough considering I suppose to have a 60 days guarantee, and not enough credit given to even come down to what other local a/c service companies charge for the same thing in the area. Now I am very leery if they ever going to honor any guaranteed given by CoolToday.

Sold us a lemon. AC didn't work right for first two years. Kept needing refrigerant. Finally replaced coil in Air handler. Then the capacitor went bad and system was down again. At year 6 another major component, the compressor goes bad a $3000 expense out of my pocket. Quality assurance dept was a waste of time. They told me they couldn't help me in any way. Don't do business with this company. They will rip you off!

Their technicians must work on commission. I have used them for 3 years since buying my home. When my home was purchased the entire AC system was 1 year old. During my home inspection prior to the purchase the inspector had nothing negative about the system in his report. I purchased a maintenance plan from Cool Today shortly after moving in. The plan provided for quarterly maintenance visits for a nominal fee. The first visit everything was fine. The second visit the technician never showed for. The 3rd visit cost me $700 , mind you at the time the unit was now approximately 2 years old. Fearing my AC would go out during the blazing summer heat , I agreed and paid the $700. The 4th visit , the technician and I had worked together at the same retail establishment years prior, this visit cost me $100 to clean the drain on the unit. Ok , that I can understand. By now it had definitely had some use for 2 summers. The last and most recent visit cost me $275 , to clean and vacuum the inside os the unit. The technician was in my home for under 20 minutes. Now I'm paying $20 every month but the maintenance covers plumbing, electric and AC. The last visit was done when I was under the $20 monthly plan. Being on the plan reduced my bill by approximately $35, that's it. Something tells me these deceptive practices are helping keep the company name on the new ballpark in North Port. They have been in business for years. Either I have had a stretch of bad luck with dishonest technicians or they are , like I said working on commissions. I would not recommend this business in any way shape or form. Notice , the visit I had with the technician I knew was the least costly. Make your own inferences.
