We contacted our home warranty company after noticing the carpet becoming wet on the other side of the wall from the shower. They assigned Contreras Plumbing. After making an appointment with us, Contreras called and cancelled and came out the next day. After assessing the problem, Contreras said they would have to receive approval from our home warranty company and then they would return for the repairs. After about a week and a half, I called our home warranty company as I had heard nothing. They stated that the repairs were approved and that they would call Contreras again and tell them to make an appointment. Contreras called me back the next day and set an appointment another week ahead. The day before they were supposed to show up, they called while I was out and left a message asking if they could reschedule for later in the week. As I did not agree to this, I called when they did not show up the next morning and was told they would not be here. When I told the woman from Contreras that I did not agree to the delay and that I had to take time off from work to be home, she just said, ""sorry"" and hung up. I called back my home warranty company and they had to call them and reschedule.
When they finally came back another week later, they replaced the leaky shower valve and installed a new fixture. The new fixture did not even begin to cover the hole left by the old one. I asked the technician if he was just going to leave it that way. He just said, ""you can still use it. Just be careful. If you turn the shower head towards the wall, you won't get too much water in the hole.""
Now we are stuck with a huge hole on our shower and are facing an expensive tile repair job. This to me is a real half-assed way to repair something. They did not even try to find a fixture that might fit over the hole. This can't be up to code. Its akin to taking your car in because the transmission is failing and they fix it but you can't put it in high gear and go any faster than 35 mph. I won't be calling Contreras again in the future.

This company does not stand behind their work. Please consider another company. Don't waste your time. Contreras will cost you time and money. Don't know how they stay in business frankly. Home Warranty Companies should drop them from their list... just horrible

This plumber was sent out to us by First Am. Home Warranty for a water heater leak. Found it had to be replaced, Josh Hinnant, owner/general partner performed the job, 8-13-19. Next day my husband called Josh and asked why no dedicated water shut off valve and no drain pan. Josh stated ""your wife didn't ask"". Jan-2020 we had a leak under our sink so again they were asked to come out, one month went by I called and in Feb spoke with Alison (receptionist?) who proceeded to tell me Josh Hinnant didn't like the questions he asked so he instructed the office to not service our address. When they sent my paid invoice it showed (""NO SERVICE TO ADDRESS""). I have contacted them by mail and phone they do not return calls.
Beware this contractor did not pull permit or perform the job up to 2019 California Code. Today 3-6-2020 I checked on license and the CSLB shows ""This license is canceled and not able to contract."" Did find a license for Josh Hinnant Plumbing and he has been very untruthful about what happened with this install. Beware!! use another plumber.

I've used them for four repairs already and each time their service has been great. We had one job that was a little tough because fixing the problem was a little more difficult then they had anticipated. They still charged a very reasonable rate and got the job done. They are my go to company for all of my plumbing needs. Thanks guys!

If I could give no stars I would. They replaced a water heater, I notice a few weeks later both the hot and cold lines on the heater are leaking. This after they over charged for the lines they installed. I called and they told me to contact my home warranty company. I fixed it myself, there was no tape or sealant on either of the connection. Stay away from these guys.

We had a warranty issue with our water heater. They charged horrendously large fees for supplies. And the water heater leaked after 30 days because they didn't use any product to seal the connections. They wanted us to pay for insurance for them to come out a fix what they did not do right in the first place. Certainly not to code. I will never use this company again, it doesn't matter how polite the man is. If the work is not done properly to code then they should not be in business.

I have an older mobile home outside Valley Springs, and have had to call Contreras Plumbing several times to solve various issues. They arrived on time, and did the work! Price was fair. They are busy, and you usually need to call ahead for an appointment.

We were referred to this company by Old Republic our home warranty company! Our injector pump was making a very loud noise, the rep from Contreras that came out said we needed a brand new pump which would cost around $1,000! The home warranty company authorized the work to be done and supposedly they ordered the pump, within a day the pump stopped working and we were not able to use any of our facilities, shower, toilets washing machine etc! We contacted them right away and stressed the urgency they said they were still waiting for the pump! Once they got the pump they couldn't send anyone out because they were too busy! 4 days later we got tired of hearing the excuses and cancelled them and called A local plumbing company who because of the urgency came right out only to find out there were two screws that had come out and just needed to be replaced! We did not need a new pump at all! Saved us about $800!! Total rip off! My recommendation is do not use this company!!
Today we followed up with a phone call to Contreras Plumbing spoke to Alison to let them know what the other plumbing company found her response was thank you we will put notes in the system! Not even an apology!!

Terrible company!

I needed help with a clogged toilet. Their first appointment was a week out. The time for the appointment came & went. No call, no plumber. I called them. The person that answered said that ""Aaron was delayed on his first call."" I said he didn't call me to let me know he would be late. She said she would call him and he would by at my home by 5:30 PM. That time came and went. Of course, No call & No plumber.

The irony is that this was the third time that I had to call them about the same problem, with the same toilet. On the first call the toilet was replaced and poorly installed. The second time they reinstalled the toilet (hopefully, correctly), but the clog that was supposed to have been cleared, reoccurred within a short time.

Three days after they were supposed to work on my toilet & I still have yet to hear from them.

Terrible company!
