We used the company for a plumbing inspection on a home under contract with 10 days due diligence. Inspection occurred on 2/9 and we were told we would have the DETAILED report by the next day, no problem. We received an invoice on 2/14 with a 3 sentence report. The plumber spent 30 minutes on property, charged us for 2 hours and the company didn't send an itemized invoice to show us where the extra cost came from. When we called, the woman shut down our questions with """"it's industry practice, you pay for mileage from prior home to yours"""". Fine, but there is no way customers should be responsible for an hour and a half driving when the office is 18 minutes from the residence. Not only did they not get us detailed reports prior to the end of due diligence, but they over charged and didn't send an itemized report. We will not be recommending them to any of our friends.

Over a year ago I called Consolidated because they were recommended by a union leader in the area. They came out to look at a broken shower/tub handle. The plumber seemed inexperienced and told me he did not have the parts necessary and did not know how much it would cost to repair but that he would go back and look and I would be called with the estimate. While he was here, he replaced a washer on a bathroom sink and put in a screw to secure an outside spigot. The next week I received a call that the cost would be more than $5,000 to replace the handles. I could not afford that amount and told them. Weeks went by and I never received a bill. I mistakenly thought they were being kind since they hadn't done the job I called them for, but I called they and left a message that I had not received a bill for services. I never heard back from them. A year later I had it replaced by a different plumber for $700. Fast forward to last week when I called them for a different issue because my usual plumber was swamped with jobs. They said they would be out the next day. No one showed. I didnt hear from them at all over the next 5 days so I called them to see what happened. I am told that a message was left for me(it was not) telling me they would not come out because I had an outstanding bill. I tell her all of this is news to me and that I had not heard from them. She proceeds to tell me all of the times they have sent the bill(by email) and that it may have gone to my spam folder. I asked why they did not send a paper bill, she claims they did(they did not). Then she emails me a bill for over $300 which promptly goes to my spam folder and does not list what the charge is for. I email the company back telling them how unhappy I am and stating that I want an itemized bill sent USPS. Within the week I receive a bill charging me $300 for a washer and screw and the misinformation that I told the repairman it was to expensive for him to do the work he came out to do. Not only am I disgusted at the ridiculous charge, the dishonesty and incompetence have been a headache. Why would I have called them asking for a bill if I had no intention of paying? Why would I have called them a second time if I knew I owed them money from the first? And why would I have called them asking why they never showed if they had left me a message saying why they weren't coming out? Needless to say, I don't recommend them to friends but possibly would to enemies. Idiocracy for sure.

I tried this company because I noticed a large property manager (MSM) was using them as a vendor. This was a huge mistake and I am shocked at how bad this has turned out. I gave Consolidated contact info to a client because one bathroom sink faucet was chronically dripping and leaving a hard water stain on the sink basin. He thanked me for the contact info and told me he had setup the repair. A month later this dripping sink was the same (guests complain about this) and I emailed Consolidated and said my client told me he called you about this, but nothing has been done. I asked if they forgot about it. They said they were sending someone right out. They then told the owner that a part had to be ordered. Another month and several guest complaints later I asked Consolidated again if this was forgotten. They said the tech was coming the next day with """"the part"""". Indeed, I then got a call from a very nice young man who told me there was no way to fix this sink faucet, and he explained that the faucet was a non-branded one and since the style was one that came straight out from the wall this made it basically impossible to repair the drip. He suggested we replace the entire sink and faucet setup but he could not do that for me (I asked if he wanted to). I thanked him and said I only wish someone told me that 2+ months ago so I could have proceeded with plan B without the unnecessary delay. Then I gave the bad news to the home owner and he arranged to have the vanity/faucet entire thing replaced ASAP by a handyman. Which we did. What happened next is why I am writing this bad review. Another month went by and Consolidated called me about a past due invoice. I told the lady that we never got the repair done we only waited for 2 months for nothing and never got an invoice either. She emailed me a $730 invoice. The notes said they had done hours of research and then when they called to come install the part they were told we already fixed the sink. I had emails proving this was not the way it happened and I trusted the nice young man who called me to be honest about the phone call where he is the one who told me it could not be repaired so I called the secretary and told her nobody sane would expect to pay for $730 of research for a dripping bathroom faucet. A whole new vanity and faucet would cost less than that. Additionally without ANY actual repair, not even a failed attempt. She told me she had the hours of research documented by the tech as if that was my question. I told her they must be used to property managers paying ridiculous invoices with their clients money and not questioning anything but I am not doing that. I said giving them the benefit of the doubt that they really looked through catalogs for hours, and she told me how valuable their time is as """"engineers"""", so I told her they should know better than that and should absolutely get advance permission to rack up a bill that large for many hours of research about a small problem which in the end cannot be repaired. She then told me the company owner would call me to discuss this. They never did. Then another month later I got a call from a collections agency who acted super nasty to me when I simply asked what contact information was on the invoice. They told me they get paid either way whether or not I cooperate. In the meantime I also received an email with another invoice from Consolidated for over $900 of some work (not even explained in notes) at an address I have nothing to do with. When I called to tell them there must be a mistake because I do not manage that property and never have had one single connection to it and the book keeper acted like they just needed to change the address to something I am connected with and then I would have to pay it! Obviously I had not hired them to do anything else since the other issue, so I knew the invoice was not for me but she seemed determined to still keep the invoice in my name instead of figuring out her mistake. I cannot explain how shocking and frustrating this has all been.
