This company came to my rental property to clear a clogged line. They never cleared the line. They were unable to send a camera down the line to see what the problem was that day. It would take another two days before they could get a camera. As the house was unusable due to the clogged line another plumber had to be called so I would not have to pay for my tenant to stay in a hotel. They ended up trying to charge $575.25 for doing nothing other than making an attempt to clear the line which they couldn't. This is a ridiculous amount of money and it was ridiculous that they couldn't clear the line or even find out why they couldn't clear it.

I've used Conforti for years at our Placerville home and have always been happy with the work finding the plumbers to be top notch. However, two weeks ago I was dismayed to learn that Conforti requires their plumbers to include the time it takes to write the invoice in the amount the consumer pays. The plumber actually charged me for the 15 minutes (!) it took him to write the invoice. Given the hourly rate of $90, I paid $22.50 for the invoice. I called the company and one of the owners confirmed that she does require the plumbers to bill for the time required to write the invoice. Here's a question: how do you know how long that will be until AFTER you write the invoice? Further, the total bill was for over $1,100 for 7 hours to install 5 bathroom sink faucets that I had previously purchased. No where on the invoice was the hourly rate listed, nor the cost of the additional parts to install the faucets. I had to call Conforti to find out their hourly rate that was not provided on the invoice. Do I get to bill Conforti for my lost time in having to find out the billing rate left off the invoice I paid their plumber to write?!!!! Turns out those extra parts the plumber used to install the five new faucets I provided cost $500 - almost as much as I paid for the faucets! Btw, my spouse and I have TONS of experience with home repair contractors as we own 6 houses across other Calif. regions and states; we thus are aghast at this unusual and mean-spirited billing practice. I will be contacting the state attorney general's office to see if charging consumers to write invoices is legally allowed. But, meanwhile, consumer beware!

Here is the issue with Conforti at our Placerville home. Their individual plumbers are (usually) good and very helpful. Their company policies are terrible. For instance, they put in a new clean out for us, snaked our toilet, and checked the septic. ""All is good now,"" was the report, ""but let us know if you have any problems. We will be right out to take care of it."" Well, we did call when a problem arose, essentially immediately after the ""fix."" The company did not stand by the work it did, nor did they offer to ""come right out and take care of it""--we'd have to wait until they could get to us. So, we get to wait and pay again for a job we were assured was done correctly the first time.

Also, you should know that after they finish a job, it is their policy to charge you for the time it takes them to write up your invoice!!! Wow, talk about nickel and diming the customer. We had used them for years, but now that we know their business practices, we will be looking elsewhere. I will also be advocating that others do the same.
