Growing up, I observed my father fix and restore various items in our household. Whenever we set something out for disposal, he would rescue it and fix it up. I recall one Christmas when he crafted a full replica of Santa Claus in his sleigh with reindeer lights, which he mounted on our roof. To me, he was not only skilled but also a genius. Naturally, I aspired to be like him, but there was one obstacle—I was a girl. Consequently, I put my dreams on hold and focused on my college education. I graduated at the top of my class, went to college, and then worked in Corporate America. During weekends and my free time, I refined my skills and learned various trades. Over thirty years, I engaged in home improvement jobs of all types and ultimately created my own company—Concierge Renovations.
