In my youth, I admired my father's ability to repair anything and everything in our home. Whenever an appliance or vehicle was discarded, he would bring it home and breathe new life into it. I recall one Christmas when he crafted a full replica of Santa Claus in his sleigh with reindeer lights, which he mounted on our roof. To me, he was not only skilled but also a genius. I dreamed of emulating him, but being a girl in the 50s made that difficult. So, I set aside my dreams and pursued a college education. I graduated at the top of my class, went to college, and then worked in Corporate America. In my spare time and on weekends, I developed my skills and explored different trades. Over thirty years, I engaged in home improvement jobs of all types and ultimately created my own company—Concierge Renovations.
