John W.FOUR MONTHS! Yeah, 4 months from the initial call to get a main sewer line replaced. This outfit checked ALL the boxes of bad business practices. Oh, they got paid alright. Four months, of no-shows, no calls, excuses and sub-par workmanship. I'm glad my home insurance is understanding. I made a mistake in using this outfit. The company I checked with first did the same type of job...trenching, replacing pipe and restoring the worksite, at a home a block from me and completed it in under 4 days. These guys are a waste of time and money and if you want to come out on the other end of the job with any sanity, call ANYONE else. I wouldn't recommend this bunch to an enemy.
I hired them to clear a clogged basement floor drain. I suspected the drain was clogged because laundry water would flow out of the floor drain. Kevin was very nice and arrived on time. He rodded out the floor drain and half tested it. He then proceeded to tell me my underground pipes were old and needed replacement. He gave me a $2200 quote to break the concrete in my basement, remove the pipe, place new piping, and replace the concrete. He even asked me for my homeowners policy to put a claim in with them for the work. I told him I would THINK about it. When I attempted to do laundry, the water was flowing all over the floor AGAIN!?!? I called Kevin and he said the only thing to do was to replace the pipe?? I told him I would get a second opinion. I hired Reid & Pederson Drainage to come out to take a look. They IMMEDIATELY determined it was the sump pump. They showed me how the sump pump was not kicking on in time, thereby, allowing the water to rise to the level of the discharge pipe and flow out of the floor drain. Something Kevin would have discovered if he had let the sump pump well fill up. THANKS to Reid & Pederson for finding the problem!! No more problems in my basement and definitely not a $2200 problem!
I think Kevin and Complete will do good work BUT only if you know EXACTLY what the problem is. If there is any doubt, DO NOT HIRE THEM!!! I would definitely not let them tear up the concrete in my basement or put a claim in using my homeowner's policy. They would have been ""fixing"" something that wasn't broken to begin with. I am so disappointed in them and with Home Advisor for recommending them. In the future, I will have to give some serious thought to allowing Home Advisor to recommend anyone! In the end, I paid Kevin $125 for NOTHING!! I think I will file a complaint with the General Attorney's office and the Better Business Bureau - at the very least, they will have some official complaints against them.
