UPDATE: I was refunded the $500 a few hours after this second update.

Rather than responding to my numerous phone calls, voice-mails and text messages, Tom McCoy instead responded to his friends on Facebook about his handling of this job. He misrepresented key facts. But the fact remains that he neglected to tie in the pipe, flooded my basement, then charged me for a sump pump to pump out the flooding he caused. He has the sump pump back but won't refund my money (UPDATE: money was refunded a few hours of making this post). He said it was his error, he said it would be no cost to me to fix it, but apparently he decided afterward and told his friends that the $500 was compensation for him having to come back. Wow. He had to come back because he flooded my basement. Please check on the LARA website to confirm his licensing status. I wish I had before hiring him.

We have the worst plumbing and electrical issues at our house! It's like the previous owner tried to do everything on the cheap. Every time there's a problem, Tom is the first plumber I call! He's fast, friendly and does great work! Even better, if he's swamped and can't get to you-- he'll give you the number of another plumber to call!!

Tom is the best in the business! I have dealt with my fair share of plumbers and handymen in the past and none compare to the level of service Tom provides. His pricing is fair and he will always go out of his way to get to you as soon as possible. I had a water leak in my kitchen a couple of years ago and he referred me to a restoration specialist in the Fraser area and worked with him to get the kitchen repaired and the damaged pipe replaced! He came on a Sunday to assess the damage! I would go to no one else for plumbing and would recommend him to anyone!

Unfortunately we did not have as good of an experience with Tom as some of these other reviews. We called him based off of other reviews we read online and took his expert advise to have one of my parents pipes water jetted for 850 dollars, that came along with a 2 year warranty. Unfortunately for the following months after we had continuous problems and tried on a regular basis to contact Tom to honor his 2 year warranty. After numerous unreturned phone calls, we were forced to call another company who charged us the same amount, but this time the problem was fixed with the utmost professionalism.

I would strongly urge you to choose another plumber for your services, I would not want to see another family scammed out of almost 1k, and have to go through the same troubles my family has had to endure!
