Our community had a gas leak, and SDGE shut down our complex. Competitive Plumbing worked to fix the leak (which resulted several days without gas)
After the gas was detected, and repaired, all of our gas meters were capped off. SDGE was here, as well.

The plummer who came to re-install my meter had trouble getting the gas meter back on, with the gas flowing out. Apparently SDGE didn't tell them it was back on& they didn't attach all of our meters back yet. I went out to the set up table and asked about the smell and went out to tell them about it not seeming safe & the plummer was needing some help because we had a gas smell started to fill into my kitchen/home from nearby windows & he was not getting the meter back on-with gas FLOWING out. He then started to cut a hole into the side of our home to be able to get it back on! & out management walked over at same time with SDGE & was like, don't cut into sides of homes! SDGE staff started to assist.
I claimed we still had a gas smell & they said it was fine.

The next day i still smelled gas and called the SDGE emergency line. The sdge tech came out and discovered the meter was not re-installed properly by the plummer, as he showed me where the gas had been leaking from ALL NIGHT LONG, from the day prior. He confirmed it definitely was the install. Also, sdge said they should not have been installing (the lines back on after capping off) with the gas pouring out. SDGE is not allowed to do that. & that likely was part of the issue.

Our management replied with ""errors happen, with a lot going on"". I'm sorry, not a little error to have GAS LEAKING ALL NIGHT INTO MY CARPORT. That's a potential fatal error & up against our home. I also have a toddler.

I realize SDGE was here overseeing/assisting and waiting for the plumbing company job, but it was ultimately the ""Competitives' "" responsibility/job to install those; even though sdge oversaw/assisted and I'm not thrilled I had to be the one to discover a gas leak/ ""error""...the following day. After saying assistance was needed and other people shrugging it off.

I do not recommend this company. Yes, they ""fixed"" the sliced wall drilled across--here's the after pic, too.

I can't get an official report from SDGE because we are metered, but I can make others aware, since our management company was aware and we never got even an apology, at minimum...And working on filing something official.

They just finished replacing all of my piping for the fireplace due to a gas leak. They did a great job, and they went above and beyond to rearranged their schedule to accommodate the household since we were without hot water or heat. Such a pleasure to work with and they do such great work. Thank you!

I was clearing the shrubbery around the tank and I nicked the gas pipe and it started to leak. I turned off the unit and immediately called Competitive Plumbing and Drains, Inc. They understood the urgency of our situation and were able to fix our problem the same day. Even though it was on the weekend, they were able to find the part we needed and do the repair quickly. Wow, couldn't imagine not being able to cook or take a hot shower. They are such a reputable company and I will definitely be recommending them to my friends, family, and neighbors.

Beware of their drivers in the freeway. This driver just about re-ended me today on the 67 after I tried to get over to exit the freeway. As well as this driver did not obey highway law and decelerate when entering the freeway. Oncoming traffic does not have the right away and must merge as space provides. This driver came on the freeway full barrel and everyone had to scramble to get over as best as they could. Unsafe driving does not reflect well on a company and puts individuals at risk.

I've tried many plumbers at my North county properties over the years, but Competitive Plumbing checks all the boxes. You can't beat the service, quality, value, reliability and just plain old fashioned respect that Kurt and Chris provide. I recently bought a house with a long list of plumbing needs. Just like their company objective states, they quickly provided maintenance/repairs and improved my systems all while keeping me in the loop of my options on every step. They showed up when they said they would, took care inside my house as if it was their own and the best part was the competitive and fair price. I'll be using them again...you won't be disappointed.

This company is reputable and responsive. They fixed a serious issue in a timely manner and we are very appreciative. Maybe be careful on who is representing your company while on the road. It can deter people away from business.
Apparently whoever drives the vehicle with license plate: 55872D3 likes to run people off the road.
In my experience, I was already established in the lane after it had merged from a double to a single lane. Apparently this driver would rather attempt side swiping other vehicles and pushing drivers off the road than drive respectable.

I called and reported his driving and spoke to Emma who was very nice and took the call seriously and I respect that. She said she would get the message over to management but I wanted to make sure this concern is dealt with.
The driver was very reckless and extremely unprofessional especially while in a company vehicle.

This experience has deterred me from ever calling or recommending this company to anyone. If he treats people like that on the road, I can't imagine how seriously he takes his service calls.

I strongly recommend against using this service for the following reasons:
1. Not punctual at all.
One hour into the agreed upon time I was told they were ""almost here"". After three hours into the agreed upon time, I called and they once again said they were ""almost here"". I asked if they could come the next day instead and be punctual since I had been putting off meetings to wait for them. The customer service representative reassured me they would be.
The next day they don't show up or answer my calls at the agreed upon time.
2. Unresponsive
After leaving them a voice message on the second day with my information and questions as to where they are, they never responded. Every call after that was sent straight to voicemail. The only way I could reach them was when my landlord called the same number (and did not go straight to voicemail), which leads me to believe that they intentionally were blocking or ignoring my calls. This is strange to me as I had not said or done anything except leave them a message stating my name, address, and what service I needed.
3. Ridiculously unprofessional
After missing two appointments without any communication, they then told me that their next availability was 7 days away. They said if I wanted it fixed on the agreed upon day, I would have to pay for overtime. Missing not one but two appointments and then asking me to pay extra for them to make up for their mistakes? Ridiculous.

Long story short, they will waste your time and make you pay extra for it too. Find someone else to help you out.

I use Competitive Plumbing and Drains a couple times a year when by bathtub gets backed up. They are always professional, on time with great communication along the way. I have recommended them to a couple family friends and they are just as happy as I am with their service. No need to look elsewhere!
