1.5 years ago my kitchen drain was clogged up. I called up Commando after 3 different plumbing services had come to the house and given me all types of excuses for not being able to fix the problem. Victor was the only one with the initiative to get under the crawl space and figure things out, opening the pipes at different points to see where the blockage was, and then actually snaking the tube clean from under the house. Through-out, he kept a positive attitude and was very professional. Would recommend him for any tough job!

We had an ongoing problem with our kitchen sink which got clogged all the time. We called Commando Plumbing and they sent Alex to give us an estimate. He went into the crawl space and found that there was a bigger problem with our pipes being old and leaking. Through my conversation with him, I found him very knowledgeable and experienced. He was able to explain the root cause to me and also answer all my questions with great patience. I trusted him right away. Since this became a much bigger project, we also called a few more plumbers, all highly rated by yelp. However, they were either being pushy, or sent someone rookie, or quoted a much higher price . We eventually decided to go with Commando Plumbing.

On the day of the project, Alex and his team arrived on time. They worked on the pipes the whole morning and fixed the problem. My kitchen sink now works great and I have brand new pipes. Definitely a high five to Alex and his team. Thank you, Alex! You'll be my go-to person in the future.

I rarely leave reviews but this is a MUST! The garbage disposal in my home stopped working as if the electricity is disconnected. I contacted about 6-8 places on Yelp and Commando was 1 of 2 places that offered a free quote.
I met Alex the very next day. Turns out the problem was resolved with a simple reset. Took him maybe 1 minute to fix it. And then he walked me through how to do the resets he did. I also asked him of few more questions about maintenance and life span of the disposal, he was very knowledgeable and answered my questions directly.

As originally mentioned, they do a project fee which is greater than competitors holiday charge. Ask for cost before they show up.

Plumber left glue primer stains on our color-coated stucco wall and powder coated steel roof. Neither could be repaired.

In attempting to discount the cost because of the damage, Victor stated a figure but the bill was different (higher)

UPDATE; now a few weeks later, the joint we paid to repair leaks again. We've contacted another plumber.

OMG, Alex was amazing! I called three plumbing companies, because I had several jobs around the house that needed doing. I was afraid it was going to be expensive, and I wanted to get several quotes. The first company wouldn't come out to look, but gave me a base price of $600 based on my description of the jobs, saying that it could be a lot more than that and would take a minimum of two to three hours. The second company still hasn't called back.

Alex was out here two hours or less after I called and took care of all of the jobs in half an hour. Even better, he actually showed me how I could fix one of the problems by myself. And best of all, the price was way less than what the first dude had quoted me. I AM SOLD ON COMMANDO PLUMBING, and especially on Alex!!

I had a toilet clog that I needed cleared, and I also wanted the toilet replaced. I contacted nine plumbers via Yelp's ""Request a Quote"".

One did not reply at all. One was unavailable for the requested service date (three days out). Five wanted to schedule an appointment to assess the situation before giving a quote. (I understand why it makes sense to come on site for the quote, but getting the quote and then needing to decide on the spot whether to proceed with that company isn't great.)

Commando and one other company were willing to quote a price based on my description of the situation. Knowing the price beforehand (instead of having it sprung on me last-minute) gave me peace.

Victor (with whom I had been chatting over Yelp) arrived promptly and got right to work. He accommodated our shoe-free household by laying down fabric runners from the front door to the bathroom. He emptied and removed the old toilet, verified that the clog was in the toilet (not in the drain below), and installed the new toilet, all in about an hour! He verified that everything was working perfectly before we settled up. The price was exactly as he had quoted.

Victor even asked if I wanted to touch up the wall paint before he installed the new toilet (since the old toilet was flush against the wall, making it impossible to paint behind it). This was really considerate, and I appreciated the care he took in our home. I hope to never need to hire a plumber again... but when it inevitably happens, I'll go with Commando again.

I called Commando Plumbing at 1:15 PM and got a same day appointment. Victor came all the way to Portola Valley and replaced a leaky cap at the end of a copper pipe. The work was done by 5:45 PM. Victor also found the main water shutoff for me. Thank you!

Alex from Commando plumbing was wonderful! He arrived right on time and his visit was quick and helpful. He solved our main problem in the kitchen within a matter of minutes, and was able to give guidance on next steps for a separate irrigation issue in our back yard as well. Very professional and efficient. Highly recommend! :)
