In 1965, Eldred and Jo Ann Lewis established the business as Lewis Heating & A/C. At 202 S Broadway in Larned, they supplied quality Maytag items, Motorola TVs, and Coleman heating and air conditioning, in addition to servicing various brands. They relocated to their present location at 622 Topeka Street in 1971. Their son, Steven Lewis, began working with the company as an HVAC serviceman in 1977. Steven acquired the company from his parents in 2008 and rebranded it as Comfort Systems Inc. to reflect the growing emphasis on comfort and energy efficiency.

He is a licensed mechanical contractor and plumber in the State of Kansas. Steven is a certified home energy rater and has been affiliated with the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society since 1992. Additionally, Steven is NATE certified in duct installation and air distribution.

Our goal is to offer the best solutions for our clients' comfort and energy needs while guaranteeing the safety and security of a properly designed home.

Steven, a lifelong resident of Larned, KS, is a Leadership Larned graduate and has served as a member and Chair of the Building and Trades Board for the City of Larned. He is also a member of the Fort Larned Lions Club, where he serves as Treasurer. Steven has taken on all leadership roles in the Club and has been District Governor, later elected as Council Chairman for the Lions of Kansas the next year.
