Comfort Solutions was our HVAC maintenance company for a few years and also installed a new HVAC unit. They've been a decent company for us, but have come up short of our expectations on a few fronts. 1) Installation. They had to come back a couple times to better seal the unit from air loss. More importantly, the drain line wasn't installed with a slope all the way to its discharge point. 2) Communication. On some occasions, we've had to reach out multiple times to get responses to questions and issues; we never did receive follow-up responses to our most recent concerns. 3) Maintenance. A few weeks after their last (Spring 2022) maintenance, they had to come out again because the drain line was clogged. The technician cleared the line, but he also indicated that the type of flushing included in the semi-annual maintenance is more of a check than flush (they pour water in and see if it comes out the other end); and that homeowners should flush the line themselves annually using a more active approach (such as pouring a liquid (e.g., bleach, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide or hot water) down the line).
Made an appointment to come to my house between 7:30-8:30 AM. Got a text from Comfort Solutions at 7:07 AM that ""Ian is on his way.""
9:00 AM. No Ian. Had to call comfort solutions 3 times to get in touch with someone and then Kelly puts me on hold for 4 minutes only to come back with, ""oh, I'm sorry service guy had another job before you and he's running late. BS. They didn't schedule anyone before 7:30. So to make me feel better they lie to me. Nice. Rookies.
I cancelled my service. Not the first time their scheduling wasted my time.
I asked for the Manager to call me to see if they even give a sh+t about pissing off a customer.
Horrible just horrible. Extremely disorganized! This is a company that is literally all over the place. I watched the technicians work and honestly it looked like one tech was doing all the work while all the others stood around looking on. I truly hope they didn't botch up the installation. This Pat character was trying to be reassuring about the messed-up scheduling, but I have to tell you that he sounded like he didn't know his head from his butt. The only rep that I felt actually went out of their way to help me with the scheduling bungle up was Suzii. Then I get this invoice with an outrageous amount. This company has left me scratching my head and berating myself for ever deciding to deal with them in the first place. I WILL NEVER USE COMFORT SOLUTIONS AGAIN. And I advise anyone looking for HVAC to go elsewhere!
There customer service is amazing! From scheduling to meeting with the technician they are very pleasant to deal with. Rich the owner has gone above and beyond to help our family. We had a house fire and Comfort Solutions installed our new AC/Heat-pump and Furnace....we had some challenges after the installation and Rich himself often tended to resolving. We have a service contract with them as well..,I can't speak more glowingly about their work!
Comfort Solutions responded to my need for an immediate appointment (squeezed me in the next day) and and was thorough with the evaluation and reasonable with their pricing. Highly recommend.
Krishna K.We recently had an issue with our Carrier thermostat where it started showing an error I couldn't figure not get rid of. While appointment setup and service itself were professional I was extremely underwhelmed with the actual ""fix"". I went this company as I needed a Carrier certified dealer and the tech had no clue what the error message was and began messing with the settings on the thermostat not knowing what each command did. He further used google to ""research"" how to use the thermostat and cause the same error message I called about earlier to show up for the second zone. He kept saying he hadn't worked with that thermostat before and don't know why they're labelled a Carrier certified dealer if they aren't familiar with Carrier products. After messing the the thermostat for 30 mins the tech went into the attic and turned the system on and off which seemed to have fixed the error messages on the thermostat. To pay $120 for this type of a service from a certified Carrier dealer is disappointing. Furthermore, I asked about replacing the current thermostat and the tech said someone from the office would call me in a few days and it's been an entire week and no one has bothered to reach out to give me an update.
8/4/2021: I tried giving this company another chance but their customer service is absolutely horrendous. I've now called 3 different times for the same request. 1. What can I replace my thermostat with and 2. Since they did the work of replacing the system in my place before we moved in, I wanted to see the paperwork since the previous owner never left us anything. I can't believe they are so bad at responding to my request and each time I speak with someone they guarantee me that I'll get something in hours. I'm going to try one more time to at least get my paperwork but I'm certainly not giving them any more business. In fact, I have a service appointment scheduled for Oct that I'll be cancelling and will give me business to a company that actually cares and will be reporting them to Carrier as well.
9/15/2021: I wish I can say my experience with this company has gotten better but unfortunately they seem not care about their customers. The owner reached out about 3 weeks when he saw this review and asked if we could chat and I decided to provide him with feedback so other customers don't experience similar issues. He was courteous and understanding and seemed genuine. Given that he had reached out I let him know that I had a quote from another company for some work and wanted a quote from him to see if we could do business again. He responded back right away and said he'll need to work with his local suppliers. He then suggested that we should just have the sensor in the control board replaced but that he had to order it and that it was going to be a few days. Then few days later he had an excuse for why the sensor couldn't be located and that it was going to be a few more days. This continued a few more times and finally 3 weeks later I told him to either give me a quote based on what I had sent him or that we'd just go with the other company and what do you know he emailed me back and the sensor magically arrived ""minutes ago"". That was yesterday and we scheduled a service call for today for someone to arrive between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM. We rushed to get our toddler ready and I cancelled work meetings so I could make this appointment work. 8:15 AM and someone was yet to arrive. I called the office and I'm certain the owner picked up although he didn't state his name and without even asking my name he had an excuse, ""oh I was just looking into that and I was just about to call you"". It's clear that the owner is no better than a car salesman, he tells you what you want to hear and always has an excuse for everything. My strong recommendation is to stay away from this company. It's clear that customer service isn't a priority for them.
Jason A.Rich at Comfort Solutions was amazing. He actually listened to my needs and was able to provide the perfect system for my complex needs. Very respectful of my home and of my time. If your looking for a great company that will provide you with what you need then look no further !
Comfort Solutions figured out the problem with my hot water tank and got to work quickly on it. They went the extra mile to get the right parts. They were very professional, efficient and knowledgeable. Much better than the previous contractors I have had. I now have hot water!! I have also used them for my HVAC installation and maintenance. Nothing but praise for Comfort Solutions.
I am so disappointed in the caliber of the folks they sent out to install a make up air damper in my basement for venting a large range in my kitchen. All they had to do was run about 30 ft of flexible ductwork to provide outside air into the cold air return plenum and then connect it a motorized flow damper. The crew that came to install the ductwork, in my opinion and as evidenced by their work, had no clue on how to install the system. They had the instructions but apparently neglected to follow them. Their mistakes: they chose not to reroute some central vacuum tubing out of the way of the planned ductwork (thereby creating kinks in the flextube and restricting airflow); they incorrectly located the pressure sensor for the flow damper in the return plenum rather than in the range hood; after realizing their mistake, they failed to seal more than 5 holes they drilled in the plenum after they removed the pressure sensor and hardware; they incorrectly installed the air flow pressure sensor; and finally, they never checked to make sure the system would work when the range was being used.
The incorrectly installed air flow pressure sensor would have created huge problems for my contractor if I had not brought this error up with two of the installers as my contractor would have had to tear down the range hood cabinet, the range hood, and wallboard in order to access and correct the pressure sensor installation.
While I would never use their services in the future, for anyone considering using them now, I would ask the work crew lots of questions about their experience for any HVAC system.
If I could give - (minus) I would do that because in one month, they came to my house and every time they charged $155 service fee and in one month they charged me over $800, $300 and $500. This is an awful company to steel money from who has an accent! NEVER use this company!
