Floor drain in basement backing up. Clint from Comfort Hero's snaked the main line 75' on a Wednesday. I declined the camera as it would be an extra 390 dollars on top of the 89-dollar charge for just coming to the house and 300 dollars to snake the line. Was advised by Clint that 95 percent of clients don't need or get the camera. Friday, line is backing up again. 89-dollar charge was waived, but was charged another 300 dollars to have it snaked with a bigger machine that went 107'. Friday night drain is backing up again. Called Comfort Hero's on Tuesday as Monday was a holiday. They agreed to camera my line for free and sent Clint back out. He was only able to get 12 feet with the camera. When I questioned him how it could be clogged already since he had just snaked the line 3 day prior, Clint said blockage was probable due to female products and grease. He said he could hydro clean the line for 1000 dollars. When I declined, he suggested that I pour vinegar down the line to see if that would break it up. I called Roto Rooter, they came out same afternoon snaked the line and used the camera. Total charge 359 dollars. They also put rugs down to protect the area and cleaned up when they were done.

They did not do the work that they said that they did. The employee went through drawers and other personal items. And also played with firearms and also could have stolen items. They have horrible customer service horrible employees and just a thief of a boss. We are in the process of a BBB complaint. I hope no one uses this company. They will screw you over like they screw tons of people over.

Horrible horrible company. The employee that came yesterday to our house. Decided he'd look through drawers and anything he could find. He spent 2 hours doing absolutely nothing besides sitting on his lazy ass. We had them out at 10 am till 12 noon. In that time he did not do anything. We came home to wash clothes and take a shower and the water instantly came back up and flooded the basement again. We called for emergency help and they would not send it. So we called another company which was out here with in 10 minutes after hours. They ran a camera found the clog and fixed it. The clog was 31 feet out from where supposedly he was snaking. Which he never opened the cover to the pipe too send the snake down the main line. He just sat in the basement and went through everything. And also played around with firearms that were on a gun rack they were not near where he should of been working.

This is a horrible company we will be placing a BBB report on them and we will also be calling the owner and letting them know that they have horrible rats working for them. I hope no one else is fucked by them like we were.

DO NOT USE COMFORT HEROES THEY WILL FUCK YOU OVER NO MATTER WHAT.

heater wasn't working. they said it needed a new thermostat. They replaced the thermostat. heater still wasn't working. They came back and said it was because there was a problem with the furnace and replaced some parts. still wasn't working. came back a 3rd time and said it was because of something else.. charged for that. Furnace still wasn't working. I had someone else come out. They fixed the problem with the furnace. Golden rule had put things back together incorrectly after they ""fixed"" the furnace, and wired their new thermostat incorrectly as well. The new AC person suggested that some technicians do that on purpose so that they can keep coming back to ""Fix"" the heater until you pay for a new one. I'll never use Golden Rule again.

Friendly employees and prompt service. However, charged over $600 for 1.5 hour installation of a toilet in an already finished bathroom (plumbing in place) and the new toilet was onsite for the installer. Installer also did not remove install debris and left it in adjacent bedroom. Quotes from other installers about 60% lower. Would not recommend.

Deal with Alan, not with James. Alan Gabe is a quote for everything one night. 15 hours later James quotes us something way more. We ended up getting it done, still paying $500 more than what James quoted us and the work is total shit. Drilling Wong holes and telling us we have to patch it?!?!? Really?? Come on. Do good work and stand behind it. I will be calling to get this fixed. You don't come into someone's home and alter it and expect them to fix it. That's your job James!!!

I have no gripe about the quality of the work. What I failed to do was get a second estimate of what it would cost to replace my water heater. A couple of days after the work was done I talked to a couple of other plumbers and found out I paid more than double what it should have cost. Be sure to get a second estimate even though you'll have to pay the $95 service charge for the technician to come out.

Very expensive. We have had better results from Roto Rooter and will use them next time. We were planning to have three drains cleaned out but the first one was going to be around $450. When I considered not having them do anything, we were told we would still have to pay for a service call which was $75, so we just had them do the one drain. Likely will not use their service again.

I had an issue with my sump pump when I was out of town. We ended up with a very soggy carpet in a spare bedroom and a hallway. After taking care of that mess over the weekend, I needed to figure out what was wrong with the pump.. I quick call to Golden Rule had someone at my door within an hour. Turns out the pump was fine but the pipe wasn't sucking up the water. He fixed my issue for no more than the normal service fees, and I can relax. With a ""flood warning"" in effect tonight and heavy rains expected, they fit me in on almost no notice. This is the 2nd time I've used these guys and I only have good things to say. It's no fun having plumbing or heating issues. I'm glad these guys are around for when those problems pop up.

I was flat out lied to by james.

Him: ""the city will have to come out and shut off your water from the street.""
Me: ""oh.... How much is that going to cost?""
Him:"" $800""
Later...
Me: "" So do I pay the city separately to shut off the water?""
Him: ""No, you'll pay us. It's included in the price to replace the valve.""

FYI, for those who don't know, the city charges nothing to shut the water off.
Oh course everyone is nice. I would have given them 5 stars if I didn't know they were trying to screw me, but anyone would be nice and smiles if you're throwing an extra $800 at them!

I did call to complain and told them not to come and was told it was a misunderstanding and the valve is over $900 to replace.
That's a lie. The convo was very clear and 2 other companies quoted me $150-200 for the same thing.
Nobody has even tried to make it right. All I've gotten were excuses and the blame put on ME!
