Immoral, unethical, and crooked individual. Mr. Smith offered my son an apprenticeship opportunity starting on June 14, 2024. Mr. Smith was made aware by my son that he had no experience in the HVAC field and he said there was no problem with this as this was an apprenticeship and he would teach him the trade. He agreed to pay my son $15.00 an hour and told my son that paperwork was going to be filled in when he went in for his shift. My son went in to work with Mr. Smith from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. to complete a job that Mr. Smith was working on in Clovis. During the day Mr. Smith had my son perform various tasks outside the scope of an apprentice which included but not limited to retrieving all the tools that were needed for the job and cleaning out the bed of Mr.Smith's work truck without teaching my son anything related to HVAC. Mr. Smith did not disclose to my son that there was a rusty machete underneath the trash in the bed of the truck which my son almost cut himself with. For lunch, Mr. Smith drove himself and my son to Mr. Smith's house. My son's hands were covered in oil, dirt and grease and Mr. Smith did not afford my son the opportunity to clean his hands or use the bathroom, but instead chose to leave my son in his truck with the ignition off and no air conditioning in 100 degree heat unable to eat his lunch while Mr. Smith ate his lunch at his house comfortably. At the end of the shift my son explained to Mr. Smith that this field was not for him and professionally parted ways. Mr. Smith explained to my son that he would issuing him a check that would be mailed to his home address. Two weeks have gone by and I contacted Mr. Smith about this issue. He stated that he was only going to pay my son $50 for the whole day. I contacted the New Mexico labor division and explained my son's situation. They explained to me that the state minimum wage was $12.50 and no work can be done for any less than that which I then relayed to Mr. Smith. He told me that $50.00 was all he was going to pay and told me not to contact him anymore. I just wanted Mr. Smith to do the right thing and pay son what he owed him for a 12 hour shift but he absolutely refuses to do so. I whole heatedly and in good conscious absolutely, positively cannot recommend enough not to do business with or work for this individual and his company.

DO NOT USE Tin Smith Mechanical, LLC!! AVOID AVOID AVOID Tin Smith Mechanical, LLC!!!

Like the 30 customer reviews prior to me have stated, Zach at Tin Smith Mechanical, LLC, is unprofessional, rude, and delivers nothing!
My experience: American Home Shield assigned this 1 star ""plumber"" to my work order. Zach at Tin Smith called me promptly to schedule a visit and that is where all customer service ends. Zach stated he can be at my house in 1 hour and I stated I needed 2 hours to return home, then Zach said he'll call me back in a hour to see if our availability aligned. Zach NEVER called me back that day. I called him back several times and he never answered my calls. The next day, Zach called me and said he could out, I inquired why he left me hanging and didn't call me back as he said he would. At this point, Zach said the most childish thing, he said that he emailed American Home Shield as to why he didn't show up-but he didn't even call me/informed me. I asked why he didn't call me as he said he would, and as a child, he avoided accountability and was rude. Zach said I could use his service or not, and hung up the phone.
American Home Shield escalation department called me and took my complaint as they are building a case to drop Tin Smith Mechanical. Also, American Home shield reassigned my case to a 4 star company, PLUMBRUS. Do not use this company and simply ask American Home Shield to drop them and reassign your work order to plumbrus!

Our AC has been out for a week (a week today actually) and our home warranty folks (American Home Shield) gave us the number to this company and had put in a service request for them on 8/6/21. I called and spoke to Zack on 8/7/21 and explained what was happening. He told me that the earliest that he could get to me would be today, 8/9/21 at 0730. I agreed and we scheduled the service appointment for that day/time. Well, here it is 8/9/21 and 0730 rolled around with a no call/no show. They wouldn't answer my phone call but would answer a text (??) and I reminded them of the appointment and the only reply was ""8/11/21""....with zero further clarification but now they are trying to push our scheduled appointment day & time back 2 more days. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. Do not waste your time with this company or with American Home Shield.

Its been 5 days since they sent out a guy that wasn't even an HVAC tech to my house. He was walking around aimless looking and talking on the phone with someone else. I'm assuming his dad? gave me no answers and promised to call in 3-4 days. They will not answer the phone nor call me back. I have repeatedly called but am getting no where. Anyway I would definitely avoid them if you want to keep your money. If I don't receive anything today I will be reporting them to the home warranty company as well as local authorities.

No drama here. Had to troubleshoot some issues with my hot water. Found them on homeadvisor and they scheduled an appointment immediately. Provided expedient service at a fair price and more importantly solved the issue.

The biggest con of HVAC work. Thiis kid has no idea what he's doing. He'll bait & switch after you agree to do the work and then give you sub-standard materials and work. Stay away at all costs. Absolutely don't give this guy your money, you'll seriously regret it. This guy is an idiot. After my experience, several others have told me how bad his work is & that I dodged a bullet, at least part way. Two people told me they've been waiting a year for him to finalize the HVAC install he told them would only take 2 days.

We've been pleased with the service provided by Tin Smith Mechanical Service. They have serviced our old AC unit and assisted with final installation and pressure check on a new split system. They are very professional and competent. You won't have a heart attack when you get the bill. Great service at a fair price, what more can you ask? Highly recommend.

They will try to get as much money out of you as they can,I called them and they charged me $700.00 to fix my problem and told me It would cost me $9000.00 to fix It.I said no but ended up paying $400 for the work that they did do without fixing my plumbing.

My elderly mother called Master Plumbers for a water heater that wasn't working because the pilot light was out. The hot water heater was not very old but the plumber (from Master Plumbers in Hobbs, NM) that showed up told her he couldn't light it and she needed a new hot water heater. He quoted her a price of $1500- $2000 to replace it. My nephew arrived while the plumber was there and he asked if the plumber had tried the re-set switch. My nephew then pushed the re-set switch and relit the pilot light with no problem and it is now working just fine. This company replaced some pipes at my parents house in Lovington, NM a few years ago and outrageously overcharged them. I also want to add this plumber had to walk right past my father (who is under hospice care and is dying at home in a hospital bed) to reach the hot water heater. This company is horrible and takes advantage of the elderly and anyone else that they think they can as well. I would given them zero stars if it were an option!!!
