I would not use them unless last thing on earth!I had a furnace problem. They came out and fixed problem. So they thought they did. Said heat exchangers were cracked. Replaced them. Well STILL had problems! Replaced a part that was bad but was actually GOOD!. I would up spending over $800.00 replacing it after they was done and could not fix it!.

Have seen plumbing side. Unprofessional staff. Have come across them at part stores and on job sites (also in construction). Show up late constantly with bad attitudes. Ring leader Remy is a poor excuse of a human. Crass and rude to everyone he comes into contact with. Joke.

My elderly parents had Ashland Comfort Control (ACC) come out and look at their Heatilator propane stove in November, 2016 due to loose wires, as diagnosed by my father. Derek came out and looked at the stove. According to the $65 invoice, the pilot assembly was bad and ACC could not order a new one. I decided to order the part online and get the stove fixed for Father's Day.

I called ACC and asked if they would install the pilot assembly if I ordered it. They said it would be no problem. When I received the part ($79.99), I called and asked them to install it. I spoke with Jennifer and she said there was no way they would be able to come out for TWO MONTHS since it was the cooling season. I told her it was a Father's Day present and I would go elsewhere. She was pretty rude about it - asking me to work with them. I declined.

Boy, am I glad I called another company, Buckeye Stoves. They came out a few weeks later and found some loose wires - as originally diagnosed by my father - and fixed the stove. They were very courteous. Obviously, it wasn't a bad pilot assembly. So, my parents didn't get the use of their stove for the heating season and I'm stuck with a pilot assembly. Thanks for nothing, Ashland Comfort Control!!

Came home from work to find my AC was not working. Called for service and within one hour they came out and had the problem fixed. The tech had the part needed and was very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend them to others.

Long story short..... Their up-front customer contact, timeliness, and hands-on service work are fine.

The problem occurs when the bill arrives... and it's 2-3X more than you were told.

When you question you are told that they use a flat-rate billing system and that's the way it is!

Well, in using a labor estimating guide, they double-bill or even triple-bill for services in which the required procedures/operations ""overlap"".

Here's a document
http://www.utcccs-cdn.com/hvac/docs/2000/Public/02/62-03212.pdf

from Carrier Refrigeration that is used for labor calculation and if you look at page 2 under ALL NOTES... it states ...""Overlapping repair times, as each repair code stands complete for each job there are times when jobs overlap such as changing a condenser coil and TXV both include evacuate, and recharge as well as the time to install a new filter drier. In these cases the labor should be reduced by the relevant code amount. ""

BEWARE!

Ashland Sold me a $16,000 geothermal waterfurnace with a ten year ""worry free part and labor allowance warranty."" I've paid over $1,000 to have this furnace repaired 3 times. Every time it breaks my electric bills go through the roof as the furnace runs on emergency heat. I stopped going to ashland after the 2nd failed repair. I found the wiring on the first few repairs totally sloppy. Additionally, they sold me a 6 ton unit, and when the compressor broke, repaired the furnace with a 5 ton compressor. While all this may be legal, it's totally underhanded. Get your furnace somewhere else.

I have called this company for the past 3 years to fix my air conditioning in the house. Every year they charge me $400.00 to come out and add Freon. I do not have a degree in HVAC but, I know you should not have to add Freon every year. I will never call them again.
