It is a pleasure to write this review. I have been a customer of Columbus Energies, Inc. since they absorbed my old oil company and have never been disappointed at the service I have received. On the morning of October 16th, I discovered that my incredibly old oil tank was slowly leaking fuel oil. I immediately called Columbus Energies and left a message with their answering service. Shortly thereafter, Columbus Energies called me, I explained the issue to them, and they dispatched a technician very quickly. Eddy came fully prepared with oil drums to transfer the fuel oil into to prevent further tank leakage. He set me up with a temporary fuel feed from the fuel drum to my furnace so my family would continue to have hot water and heat. He told me to expect a call the following day to discuss oil tank replacement options. He cleaned up the area where fuel oil had dripped out and talked with me a while discussing the details of the replacement of my oil tank. He was courteous and highly knowledgeable. I hope Columbus Energies keeps Eddy around for a long time. With service like this, they have made a life-long customer out of me!

The owners of Columbus Engeries were related in some way to the developer who remodeled my home. There were numerous billing discrepancies, and I had horrible customer service experiences. The owner was vulgar and rude quite often. Their billing statements were never accurate. They would prey on my girlfriend (always when I was not home) and demand payments for bills that were paid. You cannot make this stuff up. They would constantly change the terms. When I finally got control of the situation, I found that I had overpaid roughly $750. I filed complaints with standard authorities and ended service.

While I understand that it is uncommon for homeowners to own propane tanks, in my case, I did. The company came in the middle of the night during a winter storm to steal the tanks. I filed charges with the police.

This company purchased my regular provider and we decided to give them a try. First off, they charge more if you want to be billed vs if you call and pay in advance. Their customer service is terrible. We called shortly after the holidays because we were close to running out of oil. They said they would send someone right out. A few days later, we ran out of oil. I called and they said that we had not yet paid our prior delivery and could not deliver. (our bill was not yet due) They never notified us, they just didn't deliver. I paid over the phone and the oil arrived next day. We carried a balance into the COVID shutdown and past weekend the company charged my debit card for my outstanding balance without any prior authorization or a payment agreement in place. This at a time when utilities are suspending payment terms! I called the better business bureau and filed a complaint with the MA Attorney General.
We will NEVER use this company again. Shady shady shady business practices.

Columbus Energies were able to fix my heating system when no one else could. I had multiple HVAC companies come prior to working with Columbus and they were unable to identify or properly fix the issue with my boiler. Columbus was able to get it working again.

Columbus Energies had professional and curtious staff. They thoroughly diagnosed and explained the problem to me. After the diagnosis they came up with a plan to fix the system and efficiently got the job done.

Our oil was on ""empty"" before the blizzard and subsequent big freeze last week (Jan 4, 2018). Our existing oil provider could not deliver to us. We ""discovered"" Columbus Energies, and even though we didn't have an existing relationship, they came through BIG TIME with an oil delivery to keep my family warm!
...and they did it without the Niña, the Pinta, or the Santa María!

Is it really hard to be a kind person? I literally just got off the phone with this company to order oil and I got nothing but the worst attitude from one of the women who answered the phone for me. They also weren't sure on when they would be delivering my oil so she ends up saying ""It gives you enough time to come up with some extra cash .."" mind you I never mentioned anything about being in financial hardship. I've never felt so belittled in my life.. never calling this company again.

This business is very badly run. Customer service is not informed to the rates the company charges per gallon of propane. I have been their customer for two years and I am changing supplier. I am on automatic refill and have two large tanks and 4 times they have failed to refill the tanks and let us run out of propane so we had no heat or hot water.Their rates are not competitive. Only people who want propane tanks installed as a decorative item in their garden but don't actually need heat or hot water should use this company
