I have used Columbia Drain (Jim) since we bought our house in 2005 and he has been super helpful with our old waste lines. He has cleared and scoped the lines approx every 2-3 years and every time he shows us on camera and given a copy when requested.
I have offered to help with his equipment going down the stairs and he never takes me up on it. He always cleans up after himself.

Other reviewers have complained about price and payment methods....you get what you pay for. Our waste lines are 78 years old and Jim has taken care of them and hasn't tried to upsell us in any way. Not that he does the plumbing side of it but he has referrals and offered them to us if we ever needed them.
As for payment, he will take credit card but offers a discount for cash or check. I am a gen x'er so count me in on having cash ;)

Expensive for a minor service. I also didn't like the way they take payments, it seems like an inefficient outdated way of doing things. Technician was friendly and quick.

Technician was friendly and expedient. Cost was way out of line compared to other services I've received from other providers. $350 to snake 5' of drain is outrageous. I checked my security camera and a total of 24 minutes elapsed between arrival and departure. Even considering a $150 trip charge (hypothetical as it's not outlined on their bill, there's simply a $350 line item) that leaves $200 for 24 minutes worth of work. $200/hr plus a trip charge seems excessive, I guess I'll start getting bids on even the smaller jobs from now on.

This business damaged my vehicle while its commercial truck drove partially in the emergency lane on 205 north. I called the company spoke with Jim who told me to have my insurance company call their office and they would take care of it. Well guess what they refused to help. Good thing I got the plate # so my insurance can get the insurance information that way. I tried to get the drivers attention to pull over but he wouldn't.

We have Columbia Drain come out every fall to flush the catch basins on our property and they're always fast and efficient.
Today I had them out to clear my cleanouts (first time), they found all of the ones that I was aware of and three that I wasn't. They also replaced the cap in one since it was hard to remove. Such a thorough job, kind enough to answer all my questions; thank you so much!!

Great customer service is not always easy to find. When contacted Jim was great to work with. He scheduled an appointment with us that worked for everyone's schedule His full report and video were returned the same day and he made himself available to answer all questions. Jim does not repair drains which is so important to know. This guarantees that he gives an honest and unbiased opinion of the drain and possible issues.
I would recommend Jim to anyone looking to have their drains inspected.

I've had two experiences with these folks, one great and one awful. The first time was just as you'd expect; prompt, professional and reasonable. The second time, we started calling and emailing last November and only just recently got someone out, several MONTHS later. I'm fine with someone being overbooked, but to just be ignored or lead-on really sucks, especially when you're a repeat customer. We won't use them again.

Jim arrived, checked my sink, and had it unclogged within minutes. He showed me my piping system and explained why it was so easily clogged and how to remedy that. Then he only charged me a car charge of $48 instead of the usual plumber treatment I've received in the past of paying $140 for 10 minutes of work. It was refreshing to feel like I wasn't being taken advantage of! Thanks!

Columbia Drain Co. is a locally (Vancouver, WA) owned and operated sewer and drain servicing company. That means they specialize in cleaning clogged drains and sewers. They're great if you need a plumber for a stopped up drain, but they aren't plumbing contractors.

Jim, the owner, is committed to total customer satisfaction. He has a very simple guarantee, ""If you are not truly happy with the service that you have received, let us know. We will either credit your account or refund your money"".
