Of the three HVAC companies I contacted, only Colony responded, and got my business. The other two never even returned my call. Colony gave me a fair quote and showed up as scheduled for the installation. I won't beg any business to take my money. Colony earned it!

Colony came out to install our new furnace and did a fantastic job. During the install we discovered that our return air vent that is located under our slab house was collapsing. They ran us a new return air vent to our hallway and finished the furnace install. All I can say is this furnace rocks, we no longer have cold spots and there is no temperature swings.

FO NOT USE COLONY! They will tell you they can't get a replacement part, and tell you to get a replacement unit. Then months later they will claim they found a part, and tell your insurance it could have been repaired! Whether it's a technical lying saying we need a replacement when we don't, or they are just mad we got a replacement from someone else, either way I'm out THOUSANDS that insurance won't pay for due to their negligence.

I am staying in a friends house in Iowa City and had a problem setting the thermostat correctly. I could not contact the owner and mistakenly contacted Colony. I cannot say enough about the KINDNESS and PROFESSIONALISM they showed me.
They sent me a detailed explanation of what I needed to do which solved my issue.
I might add, I am 76 yrs old dealing with a health issue so this was particularly significant to me.
If Colony gives this kind of treatment to a stranger I can only imagine how GREAT they must be to their paying customers!!

Dave and Dusty were a little behind schedule when they arrived, but they were fast, friendly, professional and efficient replacing my 23 year old A/C system just in the nick of time before another Iowa summer heat wave hit. The house is cool and comfortable now. Colony has always given excellent service to me both at home, and where I work.

Excellent job! Had air conditioner and heater replaced. Arrived on time. Worked done quickly and knew what they were doing. 5 hours had everything done. Left the place clean. Great company, great workers! Also great price!

I called because our hot water has no pressure. They sent out a guy and he looked at our water heater. I asked questions and he said he did not know because he doesn't work in plumbing, he was just helping out. He took a lot of pictures and said someone will call me back with quotes. Before he left he made sure I paid him 115.00 for the service call. There was no service that I received, unless they plan on giving me copies of the pictures they took. When I was called back, the guy was rude and cut me off with a quick no when I asked if we can change our water heater with power vent to a regular water heater. I called someone else and got a free quote, friendly service, and we will be converting to a regular water heater. Not to mention the prices they quoted are way higher than what I got for free from 3 other companies. They don't even deserve 1 star!

They do all our inspections and annual service for home and rental property. Technicians are always friendly and helpful. Have purchased new furnace for previous home and recently a furnace and previously an a/c unit for rental house. Like the fact that they are diagnostic in their approach and that ""replace and buy new"" isn't the answer to each problem.

Kyle D has worked on plumbing issues at our home when the original contractor we hired was unable to complete the task due to issues that only became apparent after demo was completed. Kyle came out on 2 occasions and was able to troubleshoot boiler issues and moving of pipes in an older home. Beyond this, I did overhear our original contractor speaking to Kyle and the office personnel in an abusive manner- demanding immediate attention at our site I order to cover for his own mistakes on judgement. Kyle remained professional at all times. His manager, Brian also visited the work site to ensure that we as homeowners pleased with the work in light of miscommunication with original contractor. I could not be more impressed with the quality of work, professional demeanor and commitment to customer satisfaction we received from Kyle and Brian at Colony. They are the only bright spot on what continues to be a nightmare remodel!

Colony is the only company I trust when it comes to handling my HVAC needs. They provide excellent service and have always been fair. Our AC went out and it was determined we needed a replacement. The original was 27 years old so it had a good run. Steve set us up with a Trane system which is what we had and were happy to stick with what works. He spent time with me understanding any concerns I had or issues we had with the old system and explained the efficiency of the new system including the rebates. The earliest they could schedule was 3 weeks out so I was hoping for cool days ahead. Unfortunately with our house it doesn't take much heat for things to get uncomfortable. After two weeks, I called and asked if anything had opened up since 90 degree days were on tap for the approaching weekend. Steve was gracious enough to get us schedule for Friday.

Bring in CJ and Bryan! These two brothers were on time, knowledgeable, courteous, and highly skilled! They took their time to do the job right and walked through everything with me before they started and asked if I had any questions. They treated my house as if it were their own. The finished product not only works greats but looks awesome! The attention to detail is amazing and says a lot about these two as well as the company they work for. Between the two of them, they have 25 years experience with Colony alone which is impressive.

Lastly, the bill was presented and was for exactly the price quoted, not a penny more! Just as Steve had stated. From start to finish, this was a wonderful experience, having to unexpectedly buy a new HVAC is never fun, but Steve, CJ and Bryan made it as painless as possible! Thanks guys!!
