I got a new unit installed back in March of 2015 and paid almost 11k. I got a 3 ton unit with insulation in the attic installed. within 1 month 1/2 the condenser water pump malfunctioned and the unit stopped working. I contacted them and it took over 48 hours to fix when it was hot here in LA. It took multiple calls to get service.

Today I called at 9:30 am and was told someone would get back to me. I called again around 2pm and they said someone would get back to me. I called again after I got a voice mail, the one time I went to the bathroom but I called back within 2 min of the voice mail. I Left another message and finally a women called me back saying someone would call me. I waited and waited, at around 7pm I called her and she said they had taken care of calling me, I said no i am still waiting. During this entire time the inside temp was 91 degrees with the windows open and 3 fans going on high.

She apologized and said she would call back. Its 7:55pm and still nothing. I would not hire this company or recommend them to anyone ever. Today is Sep 26th 2015. So I finally got a call on the 27th in the AM that someone would contact me, hours later I got a call saying someone would show up at 3pm. Sure enough a technician came at around 3pm and was able to solve the issue.

The issue has since been resolved however the lack of communication and call back is lower than low. When you call a company you should only have to call them once. You should be able to reach the person who leaves you a voice mail not get their after hours phone service that only writes down what is happening and forwards it over.

I called back within 2 min and never got a call back. When I kept calling the number back i kept getting voice mail, what is the point of having a work cell phone if you don't answer it. When you do call back early in the AM and advise your customer to contact the after hours on call that is completely un-acceptable.

I did appreciate Liz call backs as it appears she was the only one who even somewhat cared. However when her co-workers lie to her and say they contact me when they clearly didn't speak to me is un-accetable. I have worked in customer service for over 20 years, even if my co-worker says I contacted the client I always follow up to make sure it was done. However that is just cause I probably have over 20 years in customer services as a computer technician.

1/30/16 Update
So after a few months of having the AC installed I needed more air flow in the back room were the roof is flat, I called Cole Services again cause I do not want to void my warranty and they are going to install on Friday a fan booster to the back room. Once this is installed I will post again the outcome. They are doing it Free of Charge for all my hard troubles I have had in the past. If this works out and they come on time I will change my opinion for Cole Services.

2/5/15
So Cole Services came out today and installed a blower/fan for a vent to a room that needed more air due to the back part of the house is a flat roof and it gets really hot and cold. The air does come out however that room just needed a bit more air. They installed it free of charge due to all the horrible issues I have had with them. I was expecting to pay for this however they took care of me by not charging me. They were on time this time and the technician was awesome.

I know at times things do happen and we all have some good days and some bad days, as you know I had more bad than good however since they took care of me this time and now when I call I get good service now, I do believe they try hard.

The install technicians that installed the service were good, it was just the lake of communications they had during my after-hours support and it looks like now they have improved that.

I would recommend Cole Services.

Unreliable, Undependable, FAKE customer service - Mike Cottle, if you still own this company, then you need to follow-up before your company goes down the drain...if that hasn't happened yet! BBB you gave this company A+, seriously?! You've also been fooled!

To my fellow Yelpers, be warned that Cole Services sound nice, friendly and attentive on the phone, but they do not DO what they say.

I can write a long lengthy article, but others have pretty much said the samething. I've pretty made appointments regarding AC repair which neither show up nor do they call back. I have to call them many time as I waited for them to show up and to hear their response that they have tried calling me.

Tired of no shows!
Tired of no call back!
Tired of empty ""responses""!

As I am writing this review, my wife and I have received their ""guarantee"" from an earlier phone call that someone will call back tonight and a resolution will be provided.

THE ONLY REASON I HANG IN HERE SO LONG is because the air conditioning was purchased through Cole Services from the previous owner.

ARGH!!!

A/C unit went out a couple weeks ago. Called Cole Services as I had in the past a few times. Spend several thousand dollars on a new unit installation. Something at a core level has changed in this organization and not for the better. Absolutely the most unacceptable level of technical service and professionalism I've experienced in quite some time. I won't disclose all the gory details as I am really not a huge fan of yelp and on line reviews as they can many times be very unreliable and emotional based. BUT......I will NEVER use or advise anyone in my circle to use them again for any reason!!! If you are in need of heating/air services......do yourself a huge favor and look elsewhere!

Last week I encountered an unusual issue with the air conditioning condensation drain line in my home. I called a local referral HVAC company and they told me I had to get my mainline cleared because it was a severe plumbing issue (wanted to charge me 5k +). After talking to a few friends in the industry I came to the conclusion I needed a second opinion. I called Cole services and after waiting about 45 minutes past my appointment window (a little late), a HVAC supervisor and plumbing supervisor both showed up and determined that a new condensate pump and some pipe lining was all that was needed. The problem is now fixed and they managed to save me thousands of dollars and gave me a quote in writing instead of just throwing out some numbers while walking around the house. Cole was a huge help in getting this issue resolved and their customer service was above reproach.

Do not buy or do business with this customer I had so many issues with this company it was a on going process because the owner lied and cheated me out of what I thought I was paying for. I got the run around everyday from these people. One of the worst experiences and most expensive mistake I've made

The positive feedback I have is that they were very responsive with appointments.

I was disappointed when they refused to give me price ranges for standard services over the phone - I know that things change when you see the job. Only after charging a $49 diagnostic service fee, they quoted me $365 for basic toilet installation-only. I was told that this was their standard price - twice the rate of other licensed/bonded plumbers. This experience lost my trust. Hopefully this will save someone a service fee and their time.

No. This review is for Cole Services Air-Conditioning. I bought a new Lennox A/C 5 ton unit (4500.00)in 2005. After the 2 year, the capacitor needed to be replaced. After 5 years another capacitor needed to be replaced. They told me the reason I was having so many problems was that my duct work needed to be replaced, and the compressor is shot from working too hard. For a mere $10,000 they could replace it. I had a Second opinion from an A/C commercial contractor who told me the last time Cole Services replaced the capacitor they put in a 5.0, should have been a 7.5, added a forced turn on, and the intake screen was blocked by dirt and filth. He asked me if I ever cleaned it, I told him I was on a maintenance plan with Cole Services, so apparently they weren't cleaning the unit either. They also checked the ducts in my attic and said they were fine, that would not be the reason the unit would overheat. A residential unit should last 15-20 years. All these years I trusted that they were doing their job, now my unit is out of warranty. I will probably have to buy a new unit, but I can guarantee it will NOT be from Cole Services.

SABOTAGE!!! Do Not Use This Company.
I have a 17yr old heating and A/C unit with very low mileage. I live on the coast so the climate is great so this system doesn't get a lot of use but is still great to have for those few imperfect California days. I've always maintained the unit and knew it was time to have the filters cleaned. The filters are metal and just need to be taken out hosed and put back. I'm claustrophobic so I will not climb into attic.Anyway I saw Cole Sevices had a $79 A/C and furnace tune-up and clean and scheduled problem solved I thorght.
Luis arrived at my house and starting asking me a million questions I explained I had no issues just needed clean. Eventually he went in to the attic to take a look and came back very quickly all doom and gloom with horrible pictures of insulation coming off ducting lots of crud and mold on unit and a big scary crack on the carbon monoxide containment system. He solemnly explained that the furnace was so bad he turned off the gas to the unit to save me from being killed by carbon monoxide poisoning or a fire! WOW!!! Lucky I called these guys I could have been killed! He then went into even a more extensive sales pitch. Now he has been here about 1 hour already and hasn't even been outside yet to look at A/C. He is pressing me to make a decision about furnace I told him I had to think about it can u go and clean A/C now. He heads outside asks if there are any issues again I say works great just needs a clean.i provide Luis with a hose and he proceeds to be working on the A/C for the next 90 minutes. I proceed to get on with other things and leave him to it the whole time spun out by the whole experience and thinking how can it take 21/2 hours to clean a couple of filters. Even with extended sales pitch. Finally he comes back in house more gloom and doom he says there is a leak in the A/C system and that it was low on freon and may or may not last the summer. Again he wanted to know what I was going to do about it! Finally I paid Luis and sent him on his way telling him I had to think about it.
Fortunately we are very well acquainted with a A/C company that I did not call because they work commercial properties and are very busy and I didn't want to have them come out just to clean filters. Anyway our guy came the next Monday on his day off when I related the Luis story to him. After inspecting my furnace he said it looks great only he would like to change a valve to bring it up to code as the one I had was a flex line and he wanted to put in a iron pipe. When he inspected the A/C unit he said he was sad to tell me I was the victim of SABOTAGE!!! He said that the refrigerant had been drained from my unit and if I had of turned it on after Luis left I would have blown the compressor and would have had to replace the whole system. He filled it with Nitrogen 500psi. And found NO leaks no doubt sabotage.
It cost my guy 4.5 hours on his day off and me $556.00. I would like to hear from the owner of Cole services and have him tell me what he is going to do. Did Luis do this of his own accord or is he instructed to create work. This is theft he stole my refrigerant and cost me $556.00. I know that is illegal. The order # is122038583. Contract # is 131636. I hope this review saves someone else from this horrible experience and I am grateful my guy came out on his day off.
Please save yourselves the aggravation or worse and use someone else.
I'm not sure what my next step will be depends on what the owner does I anxiously await his call.
