If you want red pipe for cold and blue for hot, then these are your guys. Dad and his son. Son stands around a lot watching dad and you're paying him to do it. Yeah, they can get the job done but it's half assed. Won't hire them again. They do a lot of work for local contractors too, so it's a priority issue too.

These guys are as good as it gets! I needed help to connect a bathroom sink in a very tight spot in my 1904 home. Two other plumbing companies did help somewhat but Colbert's came and completed the work correctly.

What I most appreciated about Rick was his honesty. He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need, on the contrary he advised me not to go down a certain path that I had been previously advised to take. He explained things thoroughly and was patient and generous with his knowledge. I didn't have to wait long for an appointment either. He came within a day or two of my calling. He previously did work on my condo (emergency work on a flooding toilet). He did an excellent job, fast and very reasonable rates. I highly recommend Rick.

Rick tried to charge me twice the amount of his estimate for one job. I split the difference with him, paying $150 over his estimate. Then I made the second mistake by having his son come in to install a new faucet in a brand new counter top, thinking I wanted to make sure it was done correctly and professionally. He left for an hour to get a part he should have had and then wanted to charge me for that time. One shutoff valve he installed does not completely shut off the water and they won't come back to make it right because ""I complain to much"". They're a joke.

I had them out to install a faucet. Should be straight-forward install. It WAS! No problems, didn't mess around trying to sell me stuff I don't need and or sign me up for a monthly program. They are busy though, took a couple days to get an appointment, but was worth it.

We have had Rick and his son out to our house to take care of several plumbing issues and they have resolved them quickly and professionally. This is everything from sump pump replacement to fixing old toilets to replacing our hot water heater. We have found them to be fair in pricing and excellent in their work.

I don't understand the one-star review. I've had an older home here in Champaign for more than 20 years, and from the beginning Ric has done all kinds of work on it (remodeled kitchen, 2 bathrooms, water heater, sump pump, etc). He has always been easy to get ahold of, professional, and quite reasonable in his rates. I've never had a single problem with any work he's done. In fact, I've had to call him in a couple times to figure out what was wrong with the work someone else had done, and he's always been able to diagnose the real problem and help us fix it. I would have saved thousands and thousands of dollars and countless hours of frustration if I had never relied on other plumbers. Lesson learned.

Please stay away from this arrogant, non professional, rip-you-off person.
My realtor called him to look into no heat condition. He change the Honeywell relay L8148E1265 (@$357) and then found out that Taco 007 circulator (@$157.50) also need changing, billed me for 3 hours of labor @ $90/hr, total of $850.42.
After receiving a hand written bill, when asked why he is charging more than double for parts, he shamelessly told me that that is how he earns money by selling markup parts. I am not questioning his 3 hours of labour or the rate, but come on, more than double mark up on parts?
