Coastal Plumbing - Rick - saved the day & made it look easy. I originally asked Rick to install two exterior faucets (for some strange reason my house was built without those) and to conduct the annual back flow test, required by Onslow County. The morning he was scheduled to arrive, the thermal pressure canister on my hot water heater failed, rusted through & was spraying water into my house. Rick squared that away, and installed the faucets and did the back flow test & got the whole thing done in a hour and a half! The man is awesome. A consummate professional. The only reason I gave him five stars is because the app won't let me give him SIX.

This is the second time we've used called Rick w/ Coastal Plumbing for 'urgent care'. Again, he came to our rescue! Both times, he arrived within an hour of our call and was able to fix the problem immediately. He's professional, very pleasant, knowledgeable and thorough. Seriously, don't waste your time calling any other company.

We hired Rick Miller (Coastal Plumbing) 06/30/20 on a couple recommendations for two basic plumbing procedures.  We only needed a kitchen faucet replaced and tub spout and handles replaced in a shower, cosmetic issues only, upgrades, simple tasks. He first started at the kitchen sink. Because he could not remove the faucet easily, trying to break it loose, he began pounding on it with a metal tool so hard that we were afraid he'd break the sink.  Well he actually did.  He ended up cracking our 18 gauge stainless steel sink down the middle divide, then said the sink was old and thin (not true) and then proceeded to hack-saw the faucet off.  (Because of his actions, we had to hire another plumber who said he should have just removed the sink to access the faucet from underneath and then reset the sink.)  He was too lazy to do that.  We had to rush to the Lowes to get another sink to the tune of $100 plus and on top of that, he charged us for installing the sink HE broke.Moving on to the shower, he had trouble again and proceeded to pound on that plumbing as well.  Again we were afraid he'd break the cultured marble tub surround so we had him stop.  When he was finished, the water would not divert from the spout to the shower head.  He merely shrugged his shoulders, threw his hands in the air and said ""I don't know"", asked for payment and left.  The shower worked perfect before he touched (hammered) it.  So we hired another (better) plumber to come fix his disaster.  Turns out Smith had pounded the new diverter stem into the valve system so hard it bent something and completely jammed it. The new plumber tried for 30 minutes to release it in order to replace it again but could not budge it.  Mr. Smith had broken something inside that jammed the stem in place.  We now have to have our opposite bedroom wall torn out to replace the entire valve system.  Additionally, during the entire process, Mr. Smith's actions were extremely unprofessional.  From the beginning of the job, he fussed and uttered inappropriate language under his breath as he beat up our plumbing. We ended up wasting close to $400 on labor and materials due to this plumber. And on top of that, he has cost us the expense of extensive repairs which we would not have had but for him.   Do not hire him if you are hoping for a quality and professional job.

Rick was extremely friendly and promptly called me back. He used terminology I was able to understand and he explained several useful things I could do to troubleshoot the issue I was having. Despite the fact these steps could possibly fix the issue which would result in him not being paid to come out, he still took the time to explain things to me. I wish more businesses ran like his, personable and customer oriented. I highly recommend him for any plumbing needs!

Rick Miller, the owner of Coastal Plumbing here in the Sneads Ferry/Holly Ridge area arrived at my home within an hour of me reaching out to him regarding a leak. Rick arrived and went to work diagnosing? and then taking a photo to show me exactly where the leak was within the plumbing. He was personable, ?professional?e, and knowledgeable?. Prior to Rick arriving, we'd spent $200.00 in two days having a washer repairman and our HVAC repairman to check out what we thought was a washer..and then an HVAC problem. Our HVAC man Aaron with Miller Heat/Cool thankfully found the leak and recommended Rick w/ Coastal Plumbing.
The biggest surprise was that Rick's invoice was so reasonable. He is a fair and honest man. I would highly recommend him to anyone and will have him on speed dial forever! Thank you Rick!
