Orville R.Did someone fill up your toilet with aunt Linda's famous cannolis and you need the line to be cleared out? Look no further than Coastal. They are easy to reach and they are always friendly. High quality work and everything is done in a timely manner!
I contracted with Coastal Plumbing to turn the water on in our rental unit in Ocean City, N.J. Fortunately, I drove down to check on our home the next day. Coastal left the master bedroom exterior door wide open - not just unlocked, but physically open. They also left a bathroom light on. Like a previous reviewer, I called to speak to the owners but never received a call back which is why I decided to warn others. If you care about the security and condition of your property, I would suggest finding another plumber.
Bottom line: The people in this company are rude, frustrating and unprofessional from the owners to the staff.
I have a rental property in Somers Point, NJ. My tenant called me to tell me there was no Hot Water on 8/7/2018. He gave me the company name Coastal Plumbing Ocean City, NJ that was on the HWH and the installation date May, 2008. I called Coastal Plumbing on 8/7/2018, repairs were made at a cost of $351.56. I never received a detailed invoice, when I asked for one ,the employee asked ""why do I need it?"". 4 days later my tenant calls me again ""NO HOT WATER"". I called Coastal Plumbing 8/11/2018, Saturday. I am told it would cost $180. Because it was a weekend. I asked why, I paid you $351.56 and the problem still exists. Coastal Plumbing sent a technician at my expense and reported back that the problem was Electrical. I asked if the work Coastal Plumbing did for $351.56 was even necessary? I called Coatal Plumbing again and asked to speak to one of the Owners Phil or Jeff Wilson, I was asked why? I explained my disappointment and frustration to the employee, she put me on hold to explain to one of the owners, I presume, regarding my disappointment and frustration . The employee returned to our call, not Phil or Jeff Wilson, I could hear a man's voice in the background say "" it's not our problem "". Oh yes sir, it is your problem. Thank you Yelp for this opportunity. Bridget B. This Business is located in Ocean City, N.J.
re Coastal Plumbing, Ocean City NJ
In 2011 we bought a Quietside mini split air-conditioning unit for a summer cottage in Sea Isle City. This cottage is occupied for about 30 nights a year, more or less. This summer (2017) the indoor unit started leaking water, or condensate. Coastal came down and inspected/cleaned the unit, for $135.00. The next time we used the air-conditioner, the unit leaked again. This time Coastal returned, and again checked, for another $135.00.
The second time was not the charm; on a night following the second visit, we were awakened by the sound of dripping water (on the fireplace mantle) after the machine had run for six hours.
I wrote a very polite letter to the owner of Coastal Plumbing, Mr. Phil Wilson, seeking advice as to whether to replace, or how to fix etc. The machine was only six years old, and operated only a month or so each year. Mr. Wilson never responded.
I contacted Laury Heating, inVineland NJ. The men came out, spent a few hours analyzing the problem, and advised that there was a refrigerant leak. They replaced the refrigerant, and tested the system, advising that this would only be a temporal fix; how long it would work they could not say. Fair enough. The techs gave me a full analysis, with no recommendation and no sales hype. The choice was between a fairly expensive overhaul of a six-year old machine, or a new air-conditioner. Two weeks later I had them replace the entire machine with a Mitsubishi model.
The Laury staff (techs and office people) are assiduous about communicating, and follow-through with the customer.
We are disappointed with Coastal, and would not recommend this company. There is NO excuse for ignoring a customer who is asking for advice, particularly a customer who is willing to pop for $5,000 for a new air-conditioner.

Coastal plumbing installed a new air conditioner unit in our home in May 2017. We had problems with the unit all summer long. The maintenance guys were out to our home 7 times to try to find the issues, but could not seem to properly correct it. Finally they found a pin hole in the line set in the crawl space, they scheduled it to be fixed. Upon arriving I was told there would be a charge to complete the job. I was never told there would be a charge for this since it was never fixed and under warranty. Not sure why I would pay for their inability to fix the issue they created. All we wanted was our air conditioner fixed that we spent $9000 on. This company does not stand behind its work and I would never recommend them to anyone. the owner and office staff are rude and obnoxious.
Just beware of this company.
Today Coastal Plumbing installed a new garbage disposal for us, and a couple of years ago, installed a new water heater. Not sexy stuff, but part of what any household needs -- a good plumber when you have an emergency. Work is proficient, they are prompt, they leave the place clean, and prices are more than fair. They will be the first we call when we have a plumbing problem! (Minus one star for the toddlers on the sweatshirt ad.)
