Our Property Mgt. group reached out to Coastal Leak Detection for a water leak coming through the kitchen ceiling. We were charged $486.80 for the service call. We were told in the invoice that they ran 3 tests, checked the water meter but were not able to find the leak. The recommendation was to seal around the upstairs bathtub. I checked our Ring Camera history and was able to determine that at most, the technician spent no more than 14 minutes running the tests and checking for the leaks. It also showed that the technician did not have any tools or instruments to run these tests. I sent an email with the time details along with 6 ring pictures showing the technician arriving, going in the house, leaving the house, spending 6 seconds to go around the house to check the water meter. I never heard back from anyone at Coastal Leak Detection. Had we not had the Ring Videos (garage and side door) we never would have been able to dispute this service. This was totally unethical and unacceptable. Thank God for Ring!! The property management company took care of us after I provided the pictures and timeline. I am not sure how they dealt with this company. I would never deal with this company.

First of all, you didn't refund our money becuase we hadn't paid you yet as you were coming back the next day to finish what you started. Second of all, if you really had such a trip planned, why wouldn't you have told us? You certainly would have that scheduled well in advance, but instead you left us hanging without so much as a return call. Very, very unprofessional.

My husband and I can't say enough good things about Jason and Coastal Leak Detection. We contacted them with a problem we thought we were having with a pump that would not hold prime and were really thinking we had a leak underground. Jason came out and was so knowledgeable and kind. He said it wasn't a leak underground, but a problem with our multi-port. He said to change our the multi-port, run it for a few days and let him know if we have any problems, but he didn't think we would. All that and he didn't charge a dime! Most companies would have at least charged for a call, but he didn't! Wow! I owe him some brownies or something! I would recommend Jason and Coastal Leak Detection to anyone!
