Had a soft water leak. Roughly 2.5 hours of work and parts were 150.00. When all was said and done it cost $400.00. The guy then tacked on another $65.00 to drive to our home which was 3 miles away! Rip off? Me thinks so.
David B.I called Cloverdale Plumbing after they installed a new hot water heater. When the inspector arrived from the city it the inspection couldn't be done because we needed a back flow inspection. Of course I asked Cloverdale to do the inspection and fix a back flow that started to leak after the new hot water heater was installed. They fixed the leaking back flow and the inspection and charged ~$630.
A few days later the original leaky back flow started leaking again and a second one needed repaired. Coincidence, I think not! Plumber arrive a second time for the back flow. Fixed the original leaking back flow and stated parts needed order for the second leak , but temporarily fixed the leak. No charge! A few weeks later still no repair and now is leaking real bad. I called to complain and miraculously they said they had just received part and the plumber was already dispatched. Hours later the plumber arrives with the part to make the repairs. He was there approximately 3 hours and seriously had to go to his truck 20 times for something.
I refused to pay the original bill until they completed the work. Received a late notice charging me another $15 for incomplete work and a second bill for~$230 dollars. Most expensive back flow Inspection and repair ever and substandard work.
Do not use these guys! Look at the other reviews for their unreasonable pricing.
In addition the first visit on the back flow repairs was 2/29/20. They did not complete the work until 4/17/20.
Yikes, what a day!!! It's like the Clampett's over here......We had a pipe burst under our house around 3 am. My husband crawled under the house and saw the massive amount of water and quickly turned off the water main. As past customers of Cloverdale Plumbing, we phoned them right away and spoke with Cheryl. She provided us a name of a restoration company that promptly came to pump the water out and set up fans. We kept in touch with Cheryl throughout the day and was told that a plumber would be calling us when they were done with another job (she didn't say multiple jobs). Keep in mind, we had no water all day long. In fact, the only way to use the bathroom (after going down to the gas station and being told that bathrooms were closed to COVID-19) was to hook our garden hose onto the neighbor's outside faucet and run it through the bathroom window.
We waited all day - no plumber ever called. Around 3 pm, we called Cheryl again for a status update. We were told that no one was available yet and that business hours were due to close at 5:00 pm and our job could potentially flow over to the following day; however, if a plumber did become available, we would then be charged an after-hour price. This is totally unreasonable when in fact, we had contacted Cloverdale Plumbing in the early AM and waited all day without water. We finally called Viking Plumbing and they were awesome! In fact, they sent a plumber out within 45 minutes of our call. Folks.... stay away from Cloverdale Plumbing unless you don't mind waiting around all day long for nothing!
We had pipes go bad and called Cloverdale Plumbing. They had done some work for us before and we were pleased with that experience so called them for this issue. They responded quickly, handled the problem, investigated and additional problem and provided quotes for additional work. We understand why they have been in business for so long. They are responsive, professional, and are top on our list for anything plumbing. Respect and honesty are qualities we value in a company with which we do business. They are that and more.
Nick C.Had used before and fixed a broken pipe before and I think charged like 140 or so was reasonable. Called to fix what we thought was a leaking washer hookup and when he arrived he said not the hook up its the washer. DID 0 WORK unless you call sliding a washer 3 feet to look behind it work and handed my wife a bill for 197.00 for doing nothing. Yes never make the mistake of ever using this place again for any of my rentals...
* my financial institution agreed it was unreasonable and reversed the charge my wife was pressured to pay immediately. ""She was told you have to pay this amount right now"" I have got 3 quotes and the highest was $99 for service call where no work was done. Make it right and charge me a reasonable amount and this and i go away. Its the principle of not stating the fee and just dropping a 197 bill for no work being done and waiting around for a quote from someone else for something we didnt really want to show the GPS on the truck at the address for more then just 5 minutes.
Mckenzie J.My husband had the great idea to test turning off our main water line, the only problem is he's not a handy man. One thing led to the next and he broke the valve right off, and let me add this was 48 hours before leaving for an international trip on Christmas Eve! Great timing, I know.... luckily Cloverdale answered and came to our rescue, a true Christmas miracle. Our home is older, and it took a couple hours to finally get our valve replaced and water back on but in the end it was fixed.
Great service.
Fair price.
Would highly recommend.
Lacey F.I had called this company to come and check out my shower and toilet. I was quoted $60 to have some one come out and diagnose the problem. When they arrived the trough some tp in the toilet and said ""oh it's glacier Bay that's a bad product just get a new toilet"". Ok then the looked at the shower turned on water put a screw back in handle and said you need a new water heater but to quick solve get a new shower head. For this they tried to charge me $272 and said it was a plumbing inspection. NO REPAIRS WERE DONE.. I was not here my wife was I asked her if they said anything about a plumbing inspection or and charge of $213. She said no not til they wanted me to write a check. She told the guy that that's not what we were quote he said oh I'll tell the office but that's the cost. I asked the lady when I called so it's $60 to have them diag and then the cost of whatever repairs. She said yes. I then call to speak with service manager but he was out for the night. He called back this morning. He was super agumenitive and said I was never quote $60. Basically saying I was lying and that I will be black listed from ever using this company again if I don't pay the $272. I said I'll never use you company and never refer anyone there way. I also told him that I was writing this review. He then asked me for my credit card number and I told him I'd send them a check for $59 which I was quoted. He said I was being unreasonable and that I'm black listed. I said fine. I am very disappointed because all the ads and other people have told me they are a good upstanding company. But I had a very different experience.

I had my refrigerator repaired and in the process discovered a leak in the valve to the water supply. The repairman suggested I get the valve replaced while the refrigerator was pulled out from the wall. I Called Cloverdale and the dispatch stated the plumber would be at the house in about an Hour and one-half, and I would have to pay the Saturday Service fee of $139. Needing to repair the leak I agreed. After 4 hours i called again and the dispatch said he had just dispatched the plumber. He arrived took one look tightened the nut on the valve, groaned about having to replace it without a real NEED. (Lucky for me the frig repairman gave me a moisture detector) Said it would be another $30 to replace it period. It WILL BE GOOD. one could see where the valve had leaked water across the floor. During his time at the house he made two trips out to his vehicle, said one to determine the cost, the second time to get his paperwork. SO THE GOING RATE TO TURN A SCREW IS $168. my total bill was $306 plus change. He was at the house less than 30 minutes.
Norma S.VERY HIGH PRICED! In 2015/2016 we had Cloverdale replace an outside faucet that was attached to the house. It was a new style of faucet and within 6 month the faucet would not turn on, so they come out and replaced it at no cost as it was still under warranty. Again the following spring the second new faucet would not turn on, so they came and replaced it again at no costs. We now found that we had a leak in our ceiling in the basement form a shark bit fitting that failed on the same faucet that Cloverdale installed and replaced twice, so we called them to come back to fix it. They said since the last service was 2016 we would need to pay for the replacement on a part that only lasted a few year that they installed. This was an exposed leak and the rep only had to replace the faulty fitting, which took him no more than 15 min. The total cost was $330 for 15 min, including a $59 trip charge. This is an UNREALISTIC PRICE FOR A QUICK FIX and I told them so. WE WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN, and make sure friends and family know this info as well.
Andrew K.Extremely expensive. More than twice the price of a quote from another local plumbing company.
