Robin S.We just moved to a house built in 1963 in late July. Beautiful house. However, less than a week later, dirty water started coming up from a drain in the basement. We had some cheap home warranty the seller had purchased so we went with the plumber that company chose. They looked and said we probably had a leak or busted pipe or clog under the slab and that they couldn't help but we should call Mr. Rooter and it would cost about $10,000. My jaw hit the floor. Instead, I called our realtor for a different plumber for a second opinion. He made time during his lunch break one day to check it out. Was worried it would take 8 hours and might have to remove our downstairs toilet to get at the clog. However, he recommended Clog Busterz. That they have special equipment and specialize in difficult clogs. They were at our house in the time frame they said they would be, it's been a couple of months but I believe it was Ronnie and Mike. I apologize if I am incorrect. Anyway, they explained the problem and said they could run a cable from the drain or intake or whatever the white pipe in the front yard is called and get us fixed up. They poked and pulled for an hour and got it all cleared up with a very quiet machine I might add. Then showed us with a cable that had a camera on it the entire drain to verify it was clear. They said in the next 10-15 years we will have to get something done as the pipes are getting old, but not right this second. Some kind of scraping the rust from the inside of the pipes and recoating it or laminating...making the pipes hard plastic on the inside rather than copper. $384 later and we can flush and shower in peace. Imagine if we had done what the first plumber said? Mr. Rooter? I'll take Clog Busterz ANY DAY. Polite, professional and they know their stuff.
The worker showed up looked at the water heater, said it needed new elements and thermostats . We agreed to replace them as we had no hot water. He assured that will fix the problem.
He replaces the parts and leaves, after 3 hours still no hot water. He comes back and says oh it was the fuse the whole time not the parts and he ask me if I wanted a refund since those parts wasn't the cause for it not working, and he had my fuse in his hand saying he would be back to replace the fuse. So I agreed I needed a refund because obviously a 10 dollar fuse beats a 400 dollar part bill right? So he walks outside to his supervisor cursing saying I wanted a blank refund! After he just ask me if I wanted one? My husband calls them and they said our problem was electrical that we just needed to find someone else and left us hanging with no hot water still! .
As infuriating as it was knowing we now had to find someone else we let it go because the supervisor said they would just shred the check and it was what it was pretty much.
We trusted that and then they cashed the check anyways overdrafting my account because after they said they'd shred the check I didn't think I needed that money in the bank. So they issued me a check back and refused to cover my overdraft fee that they caused! They cashed that check after saying it would be shredded. And once again left me hanging to take care of another issue of their fault. Also when i ask the worker what the fuse was reading when he first came he said he didnt even check it saying their not an electrician but its a electric water heater! So he just starts replacing parts just cause they look bad not because they were bad! ?
I pay 600 dollars to fix my toilet today but they didn't get the done n they want more money what kind of business didn't get the job done n want to get more money I don't remind they place to fix the toilet at all
Scott L.I called them 8/27 to get a quote for work. They say they'll be there between 9-12 on 8/28. 1:00 rolls around and no one has shown, no call, nothing. So I call them and am told that management screwed up. Messed with the schedule. Fine. I reschedule for them to come out 8/29 for 9-12. 1:00 no one shows. Am told they'll be a little late. Fine. 3:30 rolls around and still nothing. I call again and am now told the guys got held up on another job and they'll have to send my job out to new plumbers.
I have a life and they've already wasted 2 days of my time. Only use these people if you have an eternity to wait for someone.
Julie M.Plumbers were 2 hours late. No master plumber was sent. They didn't properly check to see if the water was turned off in the building. The plumbers were called to install a shut off valve. Instead they flood not only my unit but the units below us. Granted there was incompetence on the building's maintenance manager, but it was the plumbers that began cutting into the pipes which caused the flooding. Walls, floors and tiles damaged and had to be replaced. No, I do not recommend this business.
This business rocks! Having just moved here and knowing absolutely no one I leaned on Yelp to give us good options for various services.
When we needed a plumber, we found James at Clogbusterz and he did an amazing job helping to settle the usual plumbing issues that can come up with a new house.
He also went above and beyond on a Sunday morning when he came out and diagnosed a leak I found that morning as coming from the HVAC unit.
I would recommend this company to anyone in need of an honest, straightforward and fair priced plumber...Clogbusterz certainly did right by us and we will certainly continue to use them for our plumbing needs.
These guys are amazing. Showed up for same-day service on a Sunday evening and knew what the problem was in matter of minutes. Fixed the problem in no time. We will definitely be calling them for any future needs!
Ollie J.I had to have a sump pump replace and they came promptly and on time. They were very professional and fixed the problem.
William B.I recently got connected with Clog Busterz via HSA home warranty company. They were called to fix a toilet that continued running after flushed, a faucet that dripped after being turned off, and the faucet on one of our tubs that started spraying water all over our basement.
They showed up on Thursday May 24, 2018 to view what needed to be repaired. One of the technicians called me to ask if he could have the busted TV that we had in our garage while I was at a conference. He offered money for it initially and I told him $100, then he reconsidered and texted me to say that the pixels were busted (which I assume he knew before hand). We let him take it for free.
The tech also removed some of the hardware from our bathroom so he could find a replacement part for it. My wife told him that we would need to wait a bit to have them come back to do the repair and figured it would also provide them with a sufficient amount of time to locate the parts that they needed to do the repair. We didn't get a call back to confirm the date that we were expecting them to show up for the repair (04jun2018) while I had taken a day out of work to be available at the house. So we called on 03 jun 2018 and were told that the technician who told us he would do the repair - whose name escapes me but has an 859 cell phone ending in 5724 - was not working on 04jun2018. The woman we spoke with called my wife back later the same day to reschedule for 05jun2018.
That day came and went with no plumbers showing up to our place. We waited some more and then I called back on 10jun2018 at 7:32pm. I spoke with the woman who answered the call for 2 minutes and was told that she would call my wife and I back to let us know what was going on with the repair/parts.
Yesterday (11jun2018) I received an email from one of the reps from HSA home warranty that included the following:
I recently spoke with Terrica again from Clog Busters to ask details on why the service request was transferred. She made me aware the new technician that was assigned was unable to complete the job & also locate the part needed.
So in their own words - through the rep from HSA home warranty - they are inept. But more importantly, after telling the HSA rep that they would return our hardware today (12jun2018) Clog Busterz showed that they are unable to do that without issue either.
If you are looking for ""plumbers"" that aren't able to do plumbing repairs and will steal your fixtures feel free to call Clog Busterz, but if you don't want people to come into your home and steal your fixtures and then lie about when they will be returned to you call someone else.
Had one of their certified plumbers come out to check out some corrosion on our hot water heater. The guy didn't even look at it for 5 seconds and said, ""Yup you need a new hot water heater"" They also wanted to charge an additional $100 to carry it upstairs. Called a different business and they came out and said if it works, then it's still good. They replaced the corroded parts for $150.
So glad I looked elsewhere!
Update: Clogbusterz replied to this negative review, saying the water heater was over 15 years old. Absolutely false, it was 9 years old. The hot water heater was just installed prior to us moving in back in 2008. According to 2 separate plumbers and a contractor I spoke with, water heaters typically last between 12-15 years.
