Climate Design Systems
I have used this Co for maintenances on my gas furnace since 2013
In 2017 I hired them to replace my gas hot water tank and that is when
I found out that they had so many incompetent technicians. The guys that replaced the hot water tank had shut the gas and open a bassement window, it was very very cold that day 12/29/17 they left around noon time without locking the bassement window and without checking if the pilot was on in the furnace. By 4:15 12/2917 the house was getting cold. I called the office at Climate Design they said they would send some one within an hour. By 6pm 2nd call got the emergency line left a message, by 8pm 3rd call left message, by 10pm
4th call left message, by 10:45pm a tech called said he would be here but didn't give a time he arrived at 1:30 am he was the only on one on the emergency calls, he lit the pilot on the furnace left at 1:45am. In that morning around 6am 12/30/17 the section where I have radiant heat was 54 degrees so no heat there. No one working New Year
I had electric heathers so I used them to keep the 2 rooms that had no heat warm. On 1/2/18 a technician came at 12:45pm found that the electronic mixing volve had shorted out because the furnace was off for 10 hours from the guys that installed the hot water tank. The mixing control had to be ordered. The technician that came on the 2nd came back on 1/18/18 to installed the new part he arrived at 8 am left at 8:45am. By early afternoon that same day I notice there was no radiant heat. I called back the office 2 technicians came to find out that the mixing control was wired wrong and it shorted out. A new one had to be ordered. On 1/22/18 tech came to installed the mixing control but didn't know how, so they called the co. maker but by that time my brother in Quebec passed away, all this trouble had prevented me to leave on 1/20/18 for Quebec so I could be there to say good by. These
tech got to wired the mixing control temporally with the rest of the heating system. I called the owner of Climat to make sure it was safe so I could leave to go to my brother's funeral He said it was safe and to call when I returned to fix it right, On 2/15/18 at 9:15am the tech came back to rewired the mixing control they left at 9:30am and said all was normal. That night around 6pm the house was getting cold again. I went down the bassement to see if the pilot was on in the furnace, it was. Back upstairs check the thermostat that control the regular heat in most of the house and it was on off. The tech had shut it off to get the mixing control to work right but never bother to put it back on. I did not have to call. I did put it on myself, while I was down the bassement checking the pilot I notice that they had not put the cover back on where all the wiring was. The next morning 2/16/18 I called again to let them know that the cover should be on, I had to be out that day so we made the appointment for Monday 2/19/18. At 10:45 2/19/18 a tech, Tyle, came he was the one that came on 12/30/17, I found him to be the more competent than any of the others that came and always left me with a problem. Now after 21 days things are normal. Needless to say I will not recommend Climate Design to any one and I am looking for some one else to service my furnace.

Our heating system decided to die right after Thanksgiving!

We called our regular plumber and were told it would be two weeks :-(

We were put in touch with Climate Design and they came to the rescue! Great technicians who kept us updated every step of the way. And, although we have an older system, they didn't try to ""up sell"" us on a new system during the holiday season - knowing money is tight. Thank you Climate Design and your great Techs Steve and Pete!

All I can say is GET quotes from nearby competitors/companies before you use Climate Design. They wanted to charge me $850 for a zone valve. I went with another company and my bill was $312. Do your homework or just go somewhere else, unless of course you have money to burn.

Ok so let's start here..... moved into house in April 3 years ago. Right away had climate design replace all 3 furnaces and add central air to all 3 units. All at the same. Was happy with the guys and I'm assuming all went according to plan. I pre pay every year for the priority plan for fall and spring maintenance. The first 2 years the office had lost or misplaced my agreement had to prove payment etc and also triple charged me. The office can be a tough run so I let all that go. I can work through that. However, the guys that come out are never the same, not well seasoned, bad mouth the previous guy and always find something wrong or up sell. I've had to pay out of pocket a control board and tune ups that really weren't even done thoroughly. Last month in oct I had my tune ups and they shut off one of my furnaces when it was due to be single digit temps outside. Said my flue was blocked and carbon monoxide levels were through the roof. He stuck a probe in the flue pipe to show me how high. Then proceeded to tell me his company does not touch gas flues and I was on my own. They never called back. Just shut it off and left. So had flue cleaned... nothing there super clean. Had North East cooling and heating come to my rescue. All I'm going to say is they were very confused by the situation. My furnace is totally fine and safe. Needless to say I'm staying well away from climate design and will tell others. Also I noticed after they left they wrote that my water heater pipes were leaking on the work sheet. What are they doing near my brand new water heaters?? Btw they're not. So, I'm always looking to give 2nd and 3 rd chances because that's life sometime but Climate Design.... your just plain untrustworthy and you left a family in the cold with zero regard. Welcome North East cooling and heating. Eric and the office are top notch. I've never written a review like this. In fact I'm not one to write a review unless it's a really good one.

Our a/c stopped working. Tech came out promptly. Then he said he had to call the manufacturer find out how much the parts would cost, and would call me back later that day or the next to schedule the repair. I waited TWO WEEKS. That's two weeks of 90-degree temperatures every day. It takes 2 weeks to make a phone call? I called after a week and again a few days later. Finally got the estimate and a scheduled appointment.

Appointment was scheduled between 11 AM - 1 PM. When I got home at 10:30, there was a phone message saying ""we're here at your house, we were scheduled at 9 AM."" Complete and utter BULL! I would NEVER have accepted a 9 AM appointment because I have a class every day at 9 AM.

Techs and office staff were unflaggingly pleasant, cheerful, respectful, and polite. But it's all pretty disorganized. We used this company (Merrimack Valley Corp) 10 years ago and again 6 years ago and they were great. What happened?

Central AC Unit was not starting. Called Climate Design and they sent a tech out the same day. Problem was a faulty capacitor. Tech had part on truck and was able to replace it and a noisy contactor. A little pricey but cheaper than any other HVAC company I called that day. Also, same day service was a huge plus.

I called this company because we needed minor repair on an old furnace in a home we were selling. The work needed was small piece of flume to be cut and replaced, no big deal. Work was completed and I signed on techs smart phone for payment. No receipt which we needed to prove we addressed needed service. We had to physically go to this business for the receipt on letterhead. We were greeted by a less than welcoming woman who immediately snapped they were too busy to help. We pleaded since we drove all the way and needed this document to help with closing on sale of home. In typical sales fashion a document was produced with the tech's recommendation that due to age of furnace it be replaced. We were not happy since all we needed was a receipt of work completed and what we were charged. Instead we got a recommendation by a hvac tech right out of high school. Long story short; if you need an honest company for any climate issues I would steer clear of this one. They scared our buyers so much that we threw in a home warranty plan because we knew there was no issue. We lived there 11 years and that furnace never let us down. They'll end up costing you more than they're worth.

Worst company to deal with if you ever need heating/AC repair needs from them. I called this company because I am not getting hot enough air in most of my bedrooms in my house. This company sent a young kid (may be in his 20s) to look at what's wrong with me HVAC system. The untrained kid comes in and without looking at anything in detail draws a conclusion that one of the pump is defective because it is hotter than the other one. I had to tell him that the heat on 2nd floor bedroom was ON all night - the reason why that pump is hot and the other one is not. Then he looks at the hydro unit that I have and immediately says this is the most easiest to work with until I give him the manual book to make it easy and he takes off immediately saying, I will have to get a superior look at your system to determine what's wrong with it.
The company sends an install manager next time to determine the cause of the problem i am facing with my heating system. The guy comes with 5 young kids in my house saying they are all being trained. Funny thing is, that the guy who came first is one of these kids to be trained.
The install manager ""Mike"" looks at the systems and gives me a two different quotes for two different fixes.
I've yet to hear back from them as to when they can come and repair the system. It feels like they just wanted to make the money on first visit and not follow through with their words or quotes. Makes me wonder how cerftified/trained or professionals this company employs.

I suggest everyone to stay away from these clowns.
