Lucy K.Just had Dave the plumber from Cliff Bergen and Mark the HVAC technician from Cliff Bergen over to our home to fix a couple of things that happened during winter. Both technicians showed up on time and we're very knowledgeable and professional. They got the leak fixed and the furnace repaired. They were very friendly and knowledgeable and we appreciate the quick service that Cliff Bergen offered to us. Thank you.
I've used Cliff Bergin P&H since they installed my furnace some years ago. They are always able to help me quickly if any problems come up. My furnace went out over the weekend. I left a message requesting service early Monday at 7, and by mid-morning the problem was found, new parts installed, humidifier pad replaced, and the house is warm again. Pricing was reasonable also. Thank you Chris!
I haven't used them, though I bought a house with their stickers on the HVAC system. They did not seal the duct work to the furnace itself properly, so there are many air leaks around the furnace. There was also no residue indicating that it was originally sealed.
Additionally, the condensate line was not properly installed which led to water backing up in the line. Surprisingly, they used a clear tube so I could see all the discoloration. Thankfully these are easy fixes, but as a professional service provider, these should have been done during the installation in the first place instead of me needing to fix them. Shoddy workmanship, I will not be calling them for my HVAC needs.
If I could give a minus-1 I would. This is what I did:
-Sent a message to them from their website. No answer.
-9am the next morning called and the guy asked for my phone number and what was wrong. He said he would call right back.
-1pm Called again and they knew nothing about my earlier call. Took all info again.
- 1:30pm I called another company and they came out asap.
-5:00pm CB called and wanted to know what the problem was and said they would call back.
-5:30pm CB called and wanted to know what my problem was and would call back with a good time. I told them to go to hell.
Is this place a joke??
Did a nice job replacing our 20 year old AO Smith water heater with a new one. Was able to come the next day. Protected the carpets and even cleaned out the aerators on the faucets.
Carlson M.They have done a great job for me on several projects! We added a laundry room and updated a bathroom and everything has been great. They show up when they say they will!
Todd P.New furnace install needed during one of our usual Wisconsin 'polar vortexes'. Install scheduled next day. Tim and Adam did a great job in taking out the old and putting in the new. Friendly guys and thorough in their work product as well. Replaced old drainage tubes other guys would have left, and cleaned up worksite like I would have done.
Will definitely use them again when I need to replace/repair my HVAC units.
Jennifer G.Our Water Heater sprung a leak. Jim helped us identify how to turn off the tank safely and made an appointment for Sebastian to come out first thing in the morning to replace the tank. Jim called us in the morning to confirm and see if there were any special instructions. Sebastian was courteous and explained the configuration of our new tank when he was done so we knew how to turn it off, change the temperature etc. Great service!
Marc T.Since moving to Ozaukee county, I've used Cliff Bergin for numerous jobs including sump pump replacement, garbage disposal replacement, gas line installation for my grill and, most recently, water softener replacement. Prices have been good, they are extremely polite, professional and responsive. I'll continue to use Cliff Bergin.
I know plumbing issues on a Sunday night at 6 pm costs but I had a bursted pipe in a crawl space and needed help asap. they did send someone out timely (Jeremy). we went into the crawl space and the technician saw the problem and immediately got very irritated like I had done something against him! shaking his head and making me feel like this was just horrible for him. he actually looked disgusted. now maybe I'm wrong but I think you are suppose to make the customer feel like it will be ok, like ""we got this"" but no, his behavior just stressed me out more and I don't care how busy you were before me or if you're having a difficult day, it's bad business to make a customer feel more anxiety. water was just pouring out of this pipe and it's in a very difficult position to reach, actually in an even tighter space but I needed the water to stop and had no idea how to stop it. Jeremy turns some knobs on the water tank and then reaches up and finds a knob in the pipes under some insulation I had not seen before and shuts off the water. so I had missed turning off the pipe to the back of the house and that pipe burst. I'm relatively new to this property and had not seen that knob to turn the water off. there was one for the front but I figured it must be for both. it still didn't connect to me that this was the pipe to back of the house. the water stops thank goodness. Jeremy then goes on to tell me that I'll have no more water at all until the weather warms up and until they can get in there in spring. now I'm totally bummed but ok I can shower at parents who live close or at the gym. he goes on to tell me about the crack in the concrete where the well connects into the house near the water tank and how difficult that will be to repair and that the well which is under a deck (with access) will need to be all torn out and we are looking at a 4k to 5k bill. Jeremy is the professional, I need to rely on him. I have to trust what he's telling me is true so ok if it needs to be done, I better start saving up for this huge bill come spring. then it dawns on me ( yea I'm slow) the water in the pipe was pouring away from the house, going out of the house so I ask him why do I not have water if it's going away from the water tank and his reply I swear I couldn't understand. I ask again and again. I even say to him "" we are not connecting I'm not understanding what you're saying"" and I'm sorry I don't recall I really don't what he was saying here but then he turns more knobs on the water tank and it starts to fill up? then Jeremy says well you'll have water but your pump will burn out soon. it's overheating then shutting down to cool so it will burn out but this just doesn't wash for me. I mean ok that may be true but you had just said I will need to bathe elsewhere until the weather gets warmer and why didn't you just say to me in plain English, ""dude you left the water on to the back and that pipe burst as a result. nope, not once did he mention that or clarify the issue. remember I'm just a dumb customer who is trusting this man to be ethical. so we crawl back out and he gives me a 308.00 dollar bill. like I said I know this costs on a sunday at 6pm but this was perhaps 30 minutes and he turned off the faucet that feeds water to the back of the house. 300 bucks....... ok. this morning, I had a well specialist (Liebau-Laun) look at the issue and it was his opinion that yes you'll need to repair the burst pipe in spring but I'm fine, that it is possible the pump will burn out but that is not a big deal and that the crack in the concrete floor where water was coming out needs to be dried up and patched not to worry about powering out concrete to repair and a patch will do fine. not to worry about tearing out my deck to mess with the well. ( he left and charged me nothing) I called Bergin and spoke to mr. Bergin and explain to him my position here. his response was, ""I'm sorry, I'll need to talk to Jeremy about this"". NEVER TOOK MY NUMBER, NEVER SAID, ""LET ME GET BACK TO YOU"", OFFERED NO CREDIT BACK. so I said, ok thank you and that was it. very disappointing on so many levels.
