Daniela S.Great experience with this company! The owner was responsive and even offered to give me an estimate via pictures before coming out. The two guys that came were very professional and explained everything to me. They were able to fix my shower on the first visit- so easy and efficient with time and schedule. The price was more than reasonable and the job was well done. I would recommend this company to anyone.
Ethel Lynn O.Clear Flow is completely unprofessional and a total ripoff. I called them to work on my steam heating system, because my go-to plumber was out of town. I have a 2-family house and a few radiators were leaking or not working at all. They came in, flushed the system and told me the radiators were fixed. I'm actually not even sure if they flushed the system or did a simple bottom blowdown - a partial cleaning that I could have done myself. They also unnecessarily replaced two radiator vents that were brand new and had nothing to do with the issue. When my tenants came in they informed me that the radiators were still leaking and not working at all. They charged me over $600 and when I tried to contact them again to troubleshoot the issue they disregarded me. Every time I asked them to reschedule me they told me to call back on the following Monday to reschedule. Eventually I gave up, which is probably what they wanted, since they already got their money. The company was referred to me by someone else who has also discontinued their service due to incomplete jobs and unprofessional behavior.
Peter C.I got an estimate from this company to install a boiler and split a gas line (they came to the house to see it first). When I started asking for the details it turns out much of the work required was not covered in his original estimate. So Rolando, the owner, gave me a new, higher estimate. In hindsight, that should have been a sign but I gave him a 50% deposit ($1100) on the new price and he promised work would start the very next week. Time was an issue for me in this particular situation and he promised he would have his guys there promptly.
Over three weeks after paying back him the deposit work had still not started. Every week he rescheduled. Finally I asked him what's going on, he dodged my calls and would only text. He said he is canceling the job and will give me back the deposit, then the next text he sent he implied that the job required more work he would need more money. He would mail me back the deposit either way. At this point I was wary, it started to sound like a scam.
Well over a month after giving him a large deposit for a job he never started, I am probably going to have to take him to small claims court to get it back. He won't answer calls anymore and I still don't have the deposit back. A weird, time-wasting experience, and I think perhaps a scam. I'll update here if he does actually give me the deposit back for this job that he never started.
Jasmina D.Had a very good experience with clear flow plumbing. We had to replace our shower body immediately because of an issue. Ronaldo and his team squeezed us in their tight schedule. After fixing, we realized that the pressure of the equipment that we bought was not enough, we requested them to look into the issue. Not only did they look into it promptly, they have also offered to do the replacement for free!
Dennis F.I am writing this belated review because today I just contacted ClearFlow for yet another job.
Summer 2015:
My underground water line burst and was dripping water into my neighbors basement. The local water company(SUEZ) threatened to turn off water to my 2 family home unless I got the line fixed asap.
I found ClearFlow on HomeAdvisors.com. I emailed them late evening and Mr Rolando replied immediately(via cell and text) He came over the next day to inspect and evaluate.
Mr. Rolando (project manager) outlined everything that had to be done and what He was going to do: obtaining city certificates, hired policeman, step up street signs to close street. sub-contracted sidewalk concrete guys, street paving guys, excavation guys, plumbing guys. We agreed on a date and I did not have to do anything else but be home. All the trucks arrived EXACTLY at 8AM.
They started work non-stop except for lunch and finished everything the same day and cleaned up all debris in front of my house by 4PM
The SUEZ water company showed up to turn my water off a few days later thinking the work had not started, Mr. Rolando and I happened to be in front of my house when he showed up to prove it to him it was already completed.
I contacted ClearFlow a few weeks later to replace all the turn-wheel water valves in my house with lever types so I can turn off only what I wanted versus turning off water to the whole house. Again , Mr R kept me informed even though he was on vacation by e-mail and text , I was given a quote, we agreed on a price and they came and replaced (welding and solder work) in about 2 hours in the evening.
Clear-Flow tested everything before they left in both jobs.
They are expensive but you get what you pay for and the work is professionally done. You don't have to do anything but agree on a price , get out of the way and let them do their job. Worry-Free.
Lynn V.My condo building used Clear Flow for a furnace/ water heater replacement. They were on time, worked all day- can't say enough good things!
Rich K.I hired this plumber to have my hot water heater replaced. They start out on time and replaced the water heater; before they left our home, they said it will take a few hours to get the hot water flowing....We turned on the hot water in the bath and kitchen after a few hours and the hot water comes out with very low pressure; prior to that, we never had any low pressure situations in our home.
We contacted Clear Flow and informed them of the problem. They came back the 2nd time and told us the faucet valves were bad - working perfectly fine prior to them replacing our hot water heater - and will cost us an additional $450 to change the valves. This whole ordeal did not make any sense at all.
I spoke to my friend who is a mechanical engineer and he explained to me how the hot water heater works. So, we called another plumber that my friend had recommended. This plumber came, opened up the pipes and found that they were stuffed with papers/debris that caused the low pressure; and he told us this was done maliciously by the previous plumber who worked on the plumbing. The water is flowing fine after the pipes were cleared out.
I don't think I was the only one that Clear Flow had ripped off. I strongly believe there were many victims fall prey to this unethical company. I am hoping by writing this review on Yelp would help others from being victimized by Clear Flow in the future.
Have been using Clear Flow for all our plumbing needs for about three years now. Putting in new heater and boiler, moving the radiators, fixing the garbage disposal attachment, etc. Would call them first for any job without hesitation. They are probably not the cheapest, but in my opinion they are worth the price. They do good job and most importantly for me they know how to plan their time. They come when they promise to come and they finish on schedule.
They tried to sell me the new water heater while the existing one could be easily fixed by replacing the thermocouple in the pilot assembly.
The way Rolando explained it was that the unit was leaking internally and the water was putting out the pilot light. Can you imagine how much water has to flow to put out a gas light? I definitely would have noticed a leak like that!
When I asked to show me, he said ""it's hard to see, you need to know what you are looking for"".
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but in this case I can't.
Only the THIRD (!!!) plumber that came in did an honest job, by the way.
I just used Clear Flow and am sure I was being taken advantage of. The original quote was $550 plus tax to ""cap a pipe"". After calling another reputable service I've used in Southern Jersey, I was told that was an unfair quote, and should have been closer to $250. After I mentioned that, Clear Flow brought the price down to $445. I still did not agree to the work however, because they hadn't even evaluated the entire situation.
Eventually (after starting the work without my approval) we came to an agreed price of $350 plus tax, but they requested CASH!?!? Come on. They started the work of capping the pipe and assured me it would not affect other appliances. Famous last words because once it was all complete, my stove didn't work! They did fix their problem without a fight...so that is good i guess. But when it came to payment they said they did not take credit cards although the Clear Flow website clearly states that.
I've lived in Jersey City for 10 years. I have yet to find reputable workers that are trustworthy and kind. I'll continue searching and post when they day comes.
