Recommended Customer Reviews

They sold me an air conditioner and installed it but it doesn't work properly. I have contacted them many times with no solution and no proper respond. I wonder how they got that many high reviews.

My heat pump wasn't working so I called my trusted repair company Garick, and found out they had been puchased by Clarke & Rush. I wanted to give them a try and I'm glad to report they were great and just as good as the now defunct Garick. My technician was John and he called to let me know he was on his way at the beginning of the time window and he arrived exactly as he estimated.
He was great to talk to and let me know every step of the way what was going on with the heat pump. He fixed it lickety split and for a very reasonable price and did not try to upsell me or tell me I needed a new heat pump right away. That's how I can tell they are a top notch operation. He did give me a realistic assessment of how much longer my 40 year old heat pump might last, and I appreciated that.
I'm sad that I lost my trusted Garick but happy that Clarke & Rush is going to be a great go-to HVAC shop from here on out!

A control module expired in our old Lennox/Amana furnace. Gordon ordered the part before leaving. Two days later returned with the part. It was a challenge to install the new replacement ignition module. Gordon consulted with the team at Clark & Rush. The installation is a success. Thank you for your tenacity to complete the project.

I just had the nicest service people out at my house today from Clarke and Rush. Robert and Evonne were great! As a woman you always get a little worried about getting taken advantage of these days, but they both were so wonderful and they checked out the HVAC system ran a check and they determined it was my thermostat that was causing the fan to turn on and stay on. They changed the thermostat and fingers crossed that is the issue. I even joined their service program because they unlike some service companies were not pushy. Robert explained how it worked and because my unit is so old it made sense to have them come out to service it 2 times a year. I highly recommend this company!

OVERALL (For Windows): 2/5
Window quality: 5/5
Installation: 0/5
Point: Windows are effective, installation was rough, results aren't pretty. In hindsight, I should have gone with Cal Energy.
CASUALTIES OF INSTALLATION: In the installation process, they knocked a glass hummingbird feeder down (it shattered and they didn't replace), tracked black caulk through the house on white porcelain tile (which my husband had to manually clean with rubbing alcohol), left fingerprints on 5 of 22 windows, left divot in dry wall, and installed too short trim on the patio door, which they tried to fix by cutting additional trim to ""shim"" it.
In terms of aesthetics, the trim they installed to cover the now comically massive window frames is also massive. So much so, it now looks amateurish when you look at the front of the house.
Also, I went dual color (bronze on outside, white inside), and the cheap white latches on the windows clearly show through.
PROS: The windows are good quality, they are sealed properly, the project was done on time and quickly.
I recently moved into a home built in the 80s that had 22 windows and a sliding patio door, all original to the home. The home is in an HOA, with loose regulations, but the expectation is the house is maintained to a certain level. We quickly realized the windows were barely dual pain and needed to be replaced. We went through the SMUD contractor finder portal, and contacted 4 vendors. We got two bids: one for Clarke & Rush (Anlin windows), and one for Cal Energy. We went with Clarke & Rush because they were ~$8K cheaper. What I didn't realize, they were cheaper because of the type of installation. Clarke & Rush had quoted us for ""replacement"" not ""new construction."" I emphasize this because we lost 297 sq ft of glass space because they installed into the old frames, which extended 1"" into the window space all around. This is partly a miscommunication error as the vendor had asked which one I wanted, and in my ignorance I said I wanted to fully replace the windows. I had asked what new construction was, and he had said ""it is way more expensive, we have to fully remove everything down to studs"" and made it sound very prohibitive. On day of install, when I realized the discrepancy (only 3 windows in), I voiced my discontent to the lead (who had provided the quote) about it, and he told me this is what replacement is, and laughed nervously when I asked about taking the windows back and reordering. Lastly, they failed the home inspection the first time due to lack of tempered glass & providing documentation, which as this is their bread and butter, should have known better. In hindsight, I should have gone with Cal Energy.

We had a new HVAC system installed and our attic ductwork replaced by two very capable service technicians, Serge and Roger. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely fast. They did our work in three days even though the estimate for completion was four days. With all the current rebates and tax credits, the new system was much more affordable than we originally thought making the decision to do the work a little bit easier for us to make. In addition, there were no hard sell tactics used by Mark, the salesman.

We had Clarke & Rush replace our old heat pump on the roof in 2015. In 2022, we called for warranty work, and ended up having them out to fix it, BUT cost us as much again as the original 2015 installation of the unit.
As of today 11/01/23, we have called in a more reputable company to replace the heat pump on the roof and discovered the Clark and Rush installation had used inadequate support beams under the heat pump, which has caused cracks in our ceiling, and could very well have ended up with the heat pump falling through the house!! We had to have a structural engineer review how to fix the mess caused by the Clark and Rush contractor in 2015.
We are now having a replacement done, as well as the duct work - which Clark and Rush should have recommended at our original installation - for a cost over 10 times the original installation price from Clark and Rush in 2015. Clark and Rush provided us a letter to homeowners outlining new duct sealing requirements the state required, but deflected our questions about our duct work asked before the original installation done in 2015. The duct work being done now is 2 1/2 times the cost of the original installation work completed in 2015, and is full of rodent holes, which likely dated from before we purchased the home.
I strongly discourage you from using this company, as we had extremely poor service and recommendations from this company. Had they done their job properly and made good recommendations to us, we could have been happy customers.

Earlier this year, I hired Clark & Rush to replace our
HVAC system and ductwork. Originally, I wanted to use Garick, but the company had merged with C&R. I contacted Warren Wright who was previously with Garick but is now employed by the new owners. He came out and did a thorough survey of the house to design a system to meet our needs. Then he assembled an outstanding team of installers who were very professional and efficient. They were very detail-oriented to make sure nothing was overlooked. The job was completed in a little over a week, and the City permit inspection was no problem. I couldn't be more satisfied with the installation, professionalism, and the courtesy of their workers.
If you are in need of replacing your HVAC, contact Warren Wright at C&R. As the project manager, he will ensure the system meets your needs and the installation runs smoothly.

UPDATE...Owner is thanking me for my 1 star review. These guys don't even read the comments. Pathetic company.
Let me tell you... If you want to wait clear your schedule for a service tech to come only to have them cancel on you less than one hour before they're to arrive bc they over scheduled that day ... then give you a hard time on your rescheduling date then deal with these people. That happened FOUR times for the same appointment!!!
They were more than happy to take my thousands of dollars for the three HVAC units that I had them install but they can't seem to manage respecting peoples time for their maintenance service.
C&R staff are not trained to deal with customers...just scheduling. Too many baby boomers out here who put a high value on quality and professionalism of all staff including appointment setters to be treated like that!
Train your staff and SHAME O. YOU!!!

This company teamed up with SMUD for 3 days and installed a new all electric hvac combo system that's in our attic and outside on the ground. They also installed brand new ducting throughout the entire house, along with vent covers. Lastly they installed a brand new all electric hot water heater in the garage. I can't say enough good things about the services provided or about the 2 gentlemen who were here for all 3 days (Sergio & Roger) they were respectful of our home and went the extra mile, doing more than what was required and went out of their way to do a couple things that were not part of the services they were here to provide. My mom and I are both disabled and Sergio and Roger helped us out so much just like family would. Their attitudes were always upbeat and happy! We can't thank you enough for everything you guys provided around our home. Hands down the best service we've received in the 20+ years we've lived in this home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this quality of service to anyone looking
