We called them because they advertised a free estimate, and being that we had two issues of concern, smell and low output in two rooms. While our initial conversation with Shelia seemed awkward (she said ""let's see how much the government will charge us"" and mumbled a lot), she got Techs to come out a few hours later. They looked at our new filters (3 weeks old) and told us they need to be changed, and tried to sell us a maintenance plan. Then told me the fee would be $104, then charged me $109 ($5 ""convenience fee"" that he made no mention of). They were literally here for 20 minutes, and didn't do anything but obtain our unit serial numbers. When I called the offer to question the charge another lady told me that she could have another tech come out. I wasn't interested in being sold another maintenance plan, or dealing with a company that doesn't stand behind their ads.
Update: A Man called me back and actually said ""I was asked to call you"". He told me what he knew, then asked for my version. I basically agreed with him then added that when his technicians got to our location they didn't do anything. He proceed to tell me that they were asked to be quiet and told they couldn't do any work. To which I asked ""why would I have called you out?"", he had no answer but began to belittle me, even asking if I was new to the area. Since when does that matter when providing customer service? He was told that I wasn't going to pay for the call, I never said that, only saying that I an extremely unhappy with my having to pay for time spent on a job that was not completed. When I asked why I wasn't told about the $5 ""convenience fee"" he told me that was something that the ""office girls"" would tell me. Funny, because the tech gave me the receipt. When I asked about the ""Free Estimates"" on their website he (with a raised voice) said that they don't offer Free Estimates.

Overall, had a toilet installed but not totally installed properly. Service person seemed confused and time I paid for seemed excessive. Doubt if I can recommend them for further work.

My husband and I recently purchased a home in South Lake Tahoe, it's a huge fixer upper and things are just not done right, we were freezing as the floor heater wasn't performing, we called Clarks plumbing and heating and asked for help resolving the issue, some time in few days the tech came by which was a very weird experience as it looked like the guy came to laugh at our problem, he looked at the floor heater and said that this floor heater is working at its maximum but there is a part of it missing which I quote ""probably makes your head spin as you are breathing carbon monoxide"". He was smiling and it really felt like he doesn't like us for some reason. He said that we need an HVAC unit installed, he said it's going to be a ""huge"" job and gave us a number $12,600. We asked if he can Andreas the floor heater issue - he said that he's not touching that... he wanted to charge us $140 service fee - a complete scam.
Just an update, it took a day to install a York HVAC unit, it was $5,600 for the labor and materials and these guys are a complete scam, do not pay them, do not deal with them, they are running g a corrupt business scamming people with need as there are not many choices I. south Lake. Do your research and call companies in Sacramento, there are many plumbing and heating companies there and they are not crooks like these guys.
Horrible and sad to see such companies still exist - don't give them a penny!!!

Called them because we have a very poorly radiating floor heater, lady on the phone scheduled us in, we waited a week for them and the technician came in, took a look at our floor heater, said this is the best it can do and noticed that there is a missing glass piece from which the floor heater was emitting carbon monoxide into the interior. We asked him to fix it - he said that he's not touching that. We asked for a proposal for a furnace and he informed us that will have someone else come out to give us estimate.
So, floor heater service call - floor heater is emitting carbon monoxide, not touched.
Tech stormed out and came back in 10 minutes asking for $$ because a service call is a minimum of 1 hour charge.
A joke of a company - run away!!! Now!

Matt was responsive and did a great job of fixing the plumbing problem on a Saturday afternoon. I phoned all the plumbers in the area and they were the first to give me a call back and a commitment to come out with short notice.

Two times now this business has had repairmen go out to do work and then additional charges are added in without authorization. In both stances, the location was a rental unit. In the first situation the tenant asked for additional work to be done and the tech did not get approval from the owner. The company credited the full amount that over billing. With this second incident, the tech went out to do a repair under a Home Warranty for a specific problem. Yet again he did additional work without getting authorization nor advising any one of the additional charge. The over billing was immediately disputed once it appeared on the credit card and after three phone calls, no confirmation of a credit has been provided. The is no telling whether a credit will ever be provided.
Do not trust these people. This company will over charge customers whenever there is the possibility of getting away with it. All South Lake Tahoe residents need to be aware of how they over charge. Use a more reputable firm.

They have been out 5 times ,then left us with no heat on a holiday weekend after declaring it fixed! Their service manager must think that customers grow on trees!
Called to get someone out and was told a day or 2 !
I could understand if we had never used them, but 5 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This company is the worst!

Big Los Angeles company that has small branch in South Lake Tahoe. From what I've heard it was so the owner could write off his trips to his house in SLT. Used them once for regular furnace cleaning. They showed up a few hours late, which is normal for Tahoe and did a decent job. Tried using the again this past Sunday when my furnace went out Saturday night, called their 24 hour emergency line and left a message. The person answering the phone said they would give the message to her uncle. Never got a call back, even on Monday. What's the point of advertising 24 hour service if you don't even bother to call back. Ended up using someone else on Monday. Okay service, but there are better outfits out there.

I am here to advise you DO NOT use Clark Plumbing. The company hires employee(s) who do not have the best working ethics and respect the business relationship with customer whom have been utilizing their service since 2008.
I recently had my normal annual work done on the sewage line. First, they charged my credit card without confirming the fees. Once I confronted them regarding the outrageous charges (which TRIPLED THE NORMAL FEE that I was charged normally), they agree to credit a portion of the charge.
Three weeks later, the same problem occurs again. This time the technician Matthew, told me he will charge for another service fee, which is $109. I told the office manager ""do not come out if you are charging another fee for the same problem that required attention 3 weeks ago"". Next thing I know, Matthew left a message stating he would charge, and he believes the problem is the pump. I reviewed the original work order, and nothing was mentioned about the pump being too old. Matthew estimated the pump will cost about $1200. What made it unethical and questionable is he didn't even inspect the problem just yet. He already made up his mind that the pump is the main reason.
Right there, I knew I am getting screwed by a plumber. I picked up the phone and called Summit plumbing. The technician came out and fixed the problem. Apparently, there were tampons clogging the pipe. He removed them and charged $108.
I was so upset and I called Clark Plumbing to make my complaints. They would not let me speak to the owner. They told me the owner will call me back. 2 weeks later, still no one from Clark Plumbing contacted me. I attempted to call in several times and they basically ignore me.
Why would anyone send business to these guys? I hope the management reads this review and have the decency to call me back.

Had to replace heater exhaust pipes because of age and white residue accumulating around the joints. The finished work resulted in an above roofline extension greater than the original. This outcome was not communicated to me before the work began and I questioned it. CG said he could not get a shorter piece of exhaust pipe. I showed concern that the extra length was going to cause condensation of water moisture in the heat exhaust and drip down the exhaust pipes. On cold winter days/nights a small dribble of water runs down the exhaust pipe. (No it's not coming from any gaps around the pipe at the roof as that was sealed twice after the original work.) I wrote a letter explaining the problem and, like the numerous phone calls, never received a response.
Have had other shoddy work done at different time; kitchen faucet replacement and heater ""servicing"" They do not have the most knowledgeable people working for the
I GUESS I FINALLY LEARNED MY LESSON..
