Chris knows his stuff.
Water collecting under my home during the major rainstorms a few months ago revealed the need for a new and improved drainage system. All systems are not equal. Water is insidious.

I got multiple bids for the job and Chris worked with me to make his affordable. Although getting French drains is a pricey and unglamorous ordeal, after seeing how much work went into the project I fully understand the cost.
Chris and his hardworking crew showed up early every week day until the job was done. The work was extensive, requiring much trench digging, cutting into concrete and moving many plants, rocks and other material. They put everything back in it's place with much care and I only lost one bush that had been directly on top of the redirected drain.

Throughout it all Chris was kind, communicative, and thorough. He looked at the project as though it were for his own home and made adjustments or recommendation accordingly, but still finished right on budget in the estimated time.

Chris and Connor did an excellent job solving my serious French drain problems around the perimeter of our house. Very polite, efficient and hard working. Called Chris on Saturday, and he was here Monday noon to get the work done before a rainstorm was scheduled to hit on Thursday. I never could have done this myself.

I was very impressed with Chris and his crew, each day they showed up promptly on time and while working they continued to work hard and steadily through the day. The footings of the deck were all hand poured and evenly spaced, this deck will likely outlast the house! He was communicative through the process and ensured my expectations were met. CLA Construction did an awesome job of creating my large deck in my backyard.
Chris came over to give me an estimate. He gave me different quotes in regards to different sizes and different materials. (I was not sure about whether to use TREX or Redwood) (We chose the Redwood and we LOVE it!)

They were professional and extremely hardworking.The work was done in a timely and organized manner. They also put up a terrific metal gate/fence to keep my three dogs apart from the deck area.
I then asked them to help me out with fixing the sprinklers (the dogs got to them previously) and they were really helpful in replacing needed parts. In addition, they helped me with replanting the shrubberies and flowering plants (that were also destroyed by the doggies) and picked up rocks that I bought at the rock place and literally moved tons of rocks to complete my backyard.

We are very happy that we chose CLA construction to create our deck and make our backyard into a beautiful space. They are honest, hardworking and great to work with. Would definitely recommend them.

I was selling my home and the buyer's agent Adam Golden brought out CLA Construction to put together an inspection report.

Adam had a home inspector come out and the inspection report came out pretty good. He noted a wet spot in the crawl space near the garage, a rusty sewer pipe and a few minor things.

Adam then brought out CLA Construction. They claimed that the house needed expensive french drains around the entire house totaling $20,000 to take care of the small patch of moisture in the crawl space. This caused the buyers to asked for $30,000 in repairs which is unheard of and the deal was off.

Now I had a set of new buyers and because I now have this ""inspection report"" from CLA I had to disclose that.

I had a termite inspection done and he told me the crawl space was really wet all over and we noticed the bucket with the sump pump was left full of water. The previous week the home inspector said the crawl space was dry and we had no rain.

Come to find out the CLA put a hose in my crawl space to test the sump pump and made the crawl space wet in areas that were previously dry as noted by the home inspector. They also left a full bucket of water under the house. Thanks goodness we found it before mold started to grow. How irresponsible to leave my home in that condition.

We got a plumber out there that said the rusty pipe was the cause of the water under the house that the home inspector found and was a $2500 fix not $20,000 in useless french drains.

Because this was a so called inspection report I had to disclose this to my new buyers and this bogus report could have caused buyer after buyer to walk away and I could have incurred alot of damages which I would have sued CLA for. Luckily the plumber saved CLA from going to court and was able to find the cause of the water which CLA could not.

I am so happy to provide a review for CLA, because I am extremely happy with them. We have many jobs (big and small) with CLA over last 10 years. The projects included: drainage system, retaining wall, sump pump, to some foundation work for my primary residence.

There are several reasons for our 5 stars rating: CLA/Chris is very professional and good old American work ethics, he does what he says! The workmanship of all the projects are excellent, and he is also on time for completion.

Over the years we have been pleased to have the services of CLA Construction, primarily on drain work in our back yard, where springs are a problem.

Chris Anthony and his worker show up on time, assess the situation, do a craftsmanlike job, and clean up after themselves. Chris communicates thoroughly what he needs to do and why.

Recently they installed a concrete sidewalk along the side of our house which turned out perfectly, so they do much more than just drain work.

CLA Construction's results are very satisfactory, and they don't charge an arm and a leg. We highly recommend CLA Construction.

Chris Anthony of CLA Construction helped us before we purchased our home, immediately after and we continue to keep him at the top of our list for house emergencies, and any new plumbing and construction issues that may come up. He is one of the most friendly, honest and hard working people I have come in contact with. Period.

He came to us by way of our inspector who said he was amazing. And he was nothing short of that. He took the time to help us before we purchased our home, by coming out to take a look on 10 hours notice - the very next day. He worked our immediate needs into a few visits in order to keep the price at the completely fair number we had agreed on over a longer period of time. And when we could he offered suggestions for multiple fixes that allowed the costs to stay as low as possible, when he could have easily turned them into a multiple day jobs costing us more.

He has taken the time to show us tips, help us plan out future work in a way that benefits us the most and continued to be fair in price and knowledgeable suggestions. If every single thing on our To Do list as we slowly remodel was something he did - he would be the only person we used for everything. Without question a five star rating is not good enough.
