Got a new hot water heater on June 26 2023 heating element broke - 3rd day waiting for them to come fix it. When it was installed all good now no hot water what so ever - owner said he'd come by with he's guys on Monday it's Wednesday still has not come by and no phone call - I called service rep today she said I was on the schedule today nothing - I own the Thrifty Nickel and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone that wants to get good service never been treated so bad especially after I paid $1600 for the water heater then they had the nerve to charge a service call to check it of $162.50 and they couldn't find anything wrong I guess if they took a cold shower they'd figure it out. Called water company no leaks this guy just will not honor he's equipment. First time and last time I'll use them. Believe me I'll let everyone know they are not honorable.

DO NOT waste your money on this company. They said they were gonna charge us $150 to unclog 2 toilets but ended up charging $300 just because they located our pipe that was a few inches underground. Our toilets were back to being clogged by the next day. Called them and they said they would charge again to fix it. Worst plumbers in the city.

Called them for a quote to estimate the charges and labor for adding laundry room plumbing to another section of house. They quoted me a $115 estimate fee. It was a surprise, but they had a good rating on google and it an economy like this, I expect them not to waste their time. I also expect not to waste my money, too. I scheduled the quotation appointment and they arrived later that day. It was a Thursday and they looked at the existing plumbing and everything I requested. Charged me $115 and said they'd have to wait until the morning to collaborate with the "boss" to get me an accurate estimate. Friday came and that evening I got an email receipt charging my card for $115 and and a JSA (job safety analysis) from them about being cautious when stopping and bending over... I finally received a call from the tech that had come the previous day and he said it'd be Monday before I got the quote, but he'd be sure to email it to me. I said okay. A week later (as I'm busy as well with my life in this economy) I realized I hadn't received the quote. Called Crystal in the office, told her the situation, she put me on hold with a super annoying beep that I couldn't handle after 10 minutes and I hung up and called back to be transferred to another older woman. She told me that they had quoted me a charge of $115. I explained I was needing the quote for the construction, the whole reason the $115 was paid. Rudely, she explained it's just "Time and Material"... I said then why did you send someone out to charge me $115 to basically tell me we have no idea, just hire us and pay whatever and however long it takes us. You're telling me a "reputable" business with 17 reviews and a 4.5 star rating on google cant give me a round about number, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000 estimation that I paid $115 for?


UPDATE: I left this review on Google and all of a sudden I got a quote. I don't believe they would've if I hadn't threatened them to send me one or I was going to dispute the charge. I don't want them doing the work now. I wish they wouldn't have sent one so the charge would've been refunded.

Friday:Two techs arrived,installed a 1 1/4 x 1 elbow in one hour,Pressureup the gasline and leave promising they would pull gasline repair-permit at cityhall. I took dayoff to wait for city-inspector (noshow). Wednesday: (5 fulldays after) I took dayoff from work. 830am,No permit had been pulled.I callin to their office and secretary behaves unconcerned. I decide to callin to city-inspector and request an inspection. Soon two techs arrive pressure gasline and leave. Few hours later, inspector arrives, passes inspection. Soon after two techs arrive and charged me $380.00 for 1 1/5 hour of work + one elbow.
The ballpark quote of $180 turned outrageous into $380 (extra $200). That is very EXPENSIVE. The lead-tech knew all along the real unsaid-quote. That is opposite of the companys advertisement of affordable. Sidenote: lead tech behaved uncaring about the days wasted or my forced dayoffs from work. This happened in Odessa,Tx. Yelp shows me at san Francisco,CA. Hmm!

Subpar work. They aren't interested in doing quality work. They wouldn't fix clog drain that they created and caused my sink to leak after a day.

DO NOT USE!! I have two houses that I used these plumbers for and found that both times I was overcharged for the work performed. On one home, the plumber broke parts already installed on my shower, charged me for the parts and the time it took for him to go buy new parts and install. When I called about the invoice, the company said the plumber denied breaking the parts. The day he did it, the plumber called me to tell me and said I would not be charged cost for the parts. Do not call these plumbers. They did ultimately credit me back the cost of the parts, but my bill was still approx. $500 for a job that should have been nothing more than couple hundred dollars. On the other job they quoted $5k and the bill received was $15k, had to negotiate down to $11k after the company agreed to review invoice.....just charge a fair price to begin with.....I have not had any other issue with any other plumber in town as I have with this company....not honest.

We have found that customers are less than satisfied when a plumber charges 30 % of what a new heater runs to repair an old heater that will go out in a few months. So basically the water heaters you buy today are throw away and cost prohibitive to repair by design.

I wouldn't recommend and let me explain.
We called City Plumbing since our water heater quit working.
The plumber on the phone told my fiancé what did he want her to do to fix
the water heater after she explained that the burner won't light.
When they arrived I was already home and it was about 6 pm.
They literally spent 3 minutes at my house and charged me the service fee
of $110 dollars. The two plumbers walked up to the water heater, tried the same
thing I tried go light the burner with the pilot and could not get it to
stay lit. The plumber told me "oh the water heater is 7 years old
and it's time for a new one." He said a new one would run me $900.
I said I would think about it and he collected my check and they left.
What kind of business is this!! It's Bullshit!!
He didn't even make an attempt to trouble shoot and fix anything.
