horrible employees! I had an emergency in front of my house and couldn't get to it because they were blocking the street ... I asked them to move their van over because my fire alarm at home was going off and the fire dept was there they told me that wasn't there problem and to figure it myself. then started laughing as I walked back to my car ... they weren't even started on their work when I pulled up they continued to do their work even though they seen the fire dept in front of the house on the block ! I am high risk pregnant and had to walk up my block to make sure everything was ok ! this is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional !
Edward L.Was charged $589 to replace a cheap kitchen faucet with a similar cheap kitchen faucet. By issuing Set Prices they are not letting you know their labor fees are around $1,000 an hour. Will never use or recommend again. Very disappointing.
Horrible service, very rude employees. Had a technician, tell me there is a problem to my face and then denied , then wrote in report that there was no problem and closed the claim without even a phone call. When calling the office I was met with nothing but rudeness and no accountability, basically said yeah my tech lied but who cares
They did 2 jobs at my property on different days.
1st job: They did a very nice job installing a water turn-off valve in the cellar. However, the installer had to clean out the outside hole that leads to my sewer pipe. He could not get the screws off of the metal cover. So, he just put a new cover on top of the sidewalk, i.e., not attached. I've been lucky so far that it hasn't been taken. I have a fear that it will be taken by kids who will throw junk down the open hole there. I've seen many sidewalks where there is no cover, filled with junk. If you step on the cover it will lift up. I was not given a receipt.
2nd job. Refused to give me a receipt after multiple requests. I like to keep the receipts for my records. The installers brought and installed the wrong type of water heater. Requested multiple photos of the broken water to make sure they brought the same size/model. I had the tall narrow type. The installers brought the short wide type as ""he didn't feel like going to the store to get it"" (the correct one). The one they brought was ""laying around the shop"". I called one of the owners, he could care less. The new water heater is jammed up against my soil pipe! They dropped the water heater while carrying it down the stairs, water heater has dents on it. There was an additional charge of $100, which they insisted be paid in cash.
I have the American Water Resources Plan. City Plumbing has a contract with them. I guess that's why City Plumbing does not consider or treat the homeowner as a customer; That says a lot.
Scott H.I was referred to City Plumbing as part of my plan with American Water Services and wasn't sure what to expect the first time (they have come twice over the years) and they are excellent--well, Joe is (he's come each time) and he's been fast and efficient at getting the job done clearing an old sewer line. He also has some tips and knows everyone in the business locally. Straight up good guy. Highly recommend.
Keya D.This company will waste you time. I waited all day to get service and because I said he was supposed to come in he called the company and said I yelled at him and he felt threatened! Without confirm they canceled my claim and left me looking for service. They say they only have one tech even though they have multiple locations... they wasted my day and right before the holidays
City Plumbing was sent to me through AWS Resources to fix a leak from the 1st floor bathroom to the basement. The ""drain cleaning specialist"" that they sent to my house look to be about 12, so I had to ask his age. The young man went into the basement while I ran up and down the steps twice to flush the toilet while he records the water flowing from the leak. What Mr. Under12 didn't realize was that I have cameras in the hallway and basement. When I called AWS to see when they were coming back out to fix the leak, she stated that I needed to get my bathroom floor done because it was to ""spongey"" and needed to be replaced. Really?? In a million dollar recently gutted house, I need a new bathroom floor? Hmmm.. I asked if they can send someone else to look at the job and they sent Trancend Plumbing Company out. The ""plumber"" accessed the job and fixed it in 15 minutes. It seems all it needed was a wax ring under the toilet. Before the plumber started the work, he said ""I have to check the floors..it states in the report that they are ""spongey"". After he checked the floors, he asked, ""is this the same bathroom""? I said, ""yes, the one with the spongey floors""! The plumber stated, ""these floors are fine""! I told him ""I know they are, someone didn't want to do the work"".
City Plumbing, next time you get a call, don't send a boy out to do a man's job! I will add the video of him NOT going into the apartment to check the spongey floor to see what my 782K Youtube subscribers think of this~! The kid never went into the apartment, let alone the bathroom. Now I have to see if myself or my brother, with a combined 220 apartment buildings in Philly, hold any contracts under this company.
Have a great day ""City Plumbing""!
4/11 I had an issue with water leaking around the waste pipe in my basement. Called my home warranty company and they sent City Plumbing out who quickly assessed the issue. Unfortunately this repair was not covered by my home warranty, however I would have still liked to have City Plumbing do the work and I would just pay out of pocket. I contacted City Plumbing on 4/13 asking if I could get an estimate for the repairs since someone had already been here, took photos and assessed the problem. The office lady there said they would need to send someone out a second time for an estimate as the guys that were previously sent were just ""drain guys."" I didn't understand why they could not simply relay the information over to the actual plumbers there and provide an estimate? The woman on the phone said she would find out when someone could come back out and would give me a call. I never heard back from anyone at City Plumbing. 5/5 I tried City Plumbing once more and was told by the office lady there that their computers were down and they could not access my account and would call me back once they were back up. As of today 5/16 I have not received any calls back from City Plumbing so I will be taking my business elsewhere. My advice, fire whomever answers the phones there, and get someone who knows how to return phone calls. Your field staff seem very knowledge from my initial visit but your office person is doing nothing but hurting your business.
I had a slow drain in both the sink and bathtub. I called City Plumbing and was told it would be a $235 charge to clear them. When they finished, they told me it was actually $470 as there were actually two separate drains. I might not be a plumber, but I do know that these are two separate drains as this is what I explained when booking the time. However, according to the plumber, it was two separate LINES so I had to be charged for EACH ONE. This wasn't made clear to me and how would I know? It took him 20 minutes TOTAL to clear both drains. Add the 3% fee for credit card processing, and this is enough for me to not go back. I will say they were timely and very polite/professional.
$500 to re-seat a toilet, for 1 and a half hours of work. I am not sure if we were cheated, or if they are simply way over-priced.
