Last week I received a call from Church Services wanting to schedule my Preferred heat and air service. Today Jimmie showed up in the window of time I was allotted. I received a call approximately 30 minutes prior telling me he was on his way. He is a very nice gentleman. He stepped into the house and put on his booties so he didn't track the outside in. He checked both of my heating systems and visited with me for a few minutes. Jimmie was very professional and courteous. I love the new electronic billing system that immediately sends me a legible statement of the services performed! Keep up the good work Church Services. I use them for my pest control needs as well.

Very unprofessional - Totally blew off an appointment and didn't even call:
Plumber did not show up for the scheduled follow up appointment to complete the agreed to repair. When I called the office, they informed me that they could not make the appointment and that they had not even picked up the part yet (which they had already confirmed to be available in town days ago.)
A) If you can't make a appointment, at least call me so I don't waste work time waiting.
B) Don't wait until the appointment time to start thinking about getting the parts.

Three other service companies were called before Church's. None could locate our plumbing leak. Church's plumber was persistent and found and repaired the leak. The charge was less than half what John Moore would have charged.

A member of management returned my call and apologized for the situation. He told me that they would use my experience as a teaching tool and also issued a refund. I regret the original situation, but am satisfied with the way the company handled the complaint. I believe that, after talking to the manager, the company is interested in customer satisfaction and preserving their reputation.

DON'T USE CHURCH SERVICES!! Called out Church services to fix a/c. We discovered it was time to replace our old unit but it could not be replaced until the next day. Its August in Houston; very hot! I asked 3 times if they were going to leave portable a/cs or recharge the old a/c so the house was livable overnight. the tech said "sure of course we will not leave you in a hot house". The tech later left without telling us or charging the A/C. The finance guy showed up so we could purchase the A/C and install it the next day. He was difficult at best. anyway, he knew nothing about charging the A/C or portable units being brought in. I asked several times regarding this and was ignored. After many calls we finally got the tech back out at 7:00 that night to charge the a/c Next day Church Services came and got the new unit installed. It was hot but uneventful. 3 days later the A/C is out again. The tech and company are thus far unwilling to make it right or bring portable units. We spent 9,200 K and still no A/C its 89 degrees in my house and my Houston SPCA foster kittens are overheating. Thank you Church Services!

Later it was discovered the filter to keep the debris out of the A/c was installed incorrectly. It was installed outside with the unit instead of in the attic as it should have been. It caused the A/C to freeze up and the compressor to almost burn out. That means the installation crew did not know what they were doing and were incompetent.

8/16 - A/C still out. they said it was the expansion valve. Yet one more hot night after spending all this money. They still can't fix it or figure out what is wrong. We have a brand new 16 SEER AC and they STILL can't make it work! Its 88 degrees in the house right now....
The tech squealed out of the drive way and yelled "you're Screwed"! There is no contact with this company and we are stuck with a non-working New AC unit. This company does not stand by its product and leaves customers completely without any support or means to get their NEW AC working. there is no communication and we have no idea how we are going to get the unit running. Its hot and non-working.
My HSPCA kittens are very hot. We bought a window unit just for them for $400 We have no idea when our AC will work

I'd like to give them a 3 1/2.

We used Church services for a long time. They are very professional, and do good work. They are rather expensive, however, having quoted us 5200.00 to replace our horizontal pipes (we went with Lindsay plumbing, who did the same work AND gave us a new hot water heater for 3150... without knowing about Church's bid). I guess those fancy vans and advertising are expensive.

I suppose in the end it's all about Good, Fast, or Cheap (pick 2). They will get to your house in a hurry, and they do good work. You will, however, pay for it.

I called to request someone to come check our water heater. Tech came and lite our water heater charging us $99.00 after he did it. We were never told a charge prior and learned from calling other places, after the fact, that a usual charge is $30 and that Centerpoint will come out for free. Wow what a rip off. They say they wave the service fee but they actually include it in the price. Not only that but the tech was almost an hour late and stsyed 10 minutes. Dishonest company. I DO not recommend them!!!! I also think they should take the church out of their name. It is misleading as their actions aren't Godly!!!

Our air conditioner went out this past week. We called Church Services around midnight and were told a tech would come out for a $144 fee. We agreed to the fee and were told we would hear from a tech in the next two hours. We heard nothing. At 7 a.m. we called and explained the situation. The agent copped an attitude and told us they were just going through the messages from the previous night. She then told us a tech would be out between 1 pm and 6 pm. We then called another company (John Moore) and they were able to dispatch a tech by late morning. When we called Church Services to cancel the appointment we supposedly had, they could not find any service appointment for us. Church Services may have knowledgeable techs but their customer service agents are beyond inept.

After a 4th attempt to contact someone, I was finally called back. The people I spoke with were very concerned about my experience and admitted they were working on communication issues within the company. I don't think something like this will happen to me again with this company and I do believe they are going to address the problem within the company.
I'll try them again and see what happens

My complaints are similar to C.H. below.

I've used Church Services for nearly all of my home repairs and pest control for the last five years but after getting gouged on pricing again yesterday they've lost me as a customer.

Back in June of last year they charged me $400 to install an industrial sink in my garage. The job took less than an hour and about $25 worth of PVC pipe. When they (Spencer) called to do a follow-up survey I questioned him about the pricing and said I'd be looking around next time I needed a repair. Seeing how I was a longtime customer he offered me a complimentary P1 membership and a small discount on a shower pan repair to continue using their services.

Figuring all was good I had them out yesterday to repair a leaking faucet that consequently led to several repairs on my water heater. The charges were as follows:
$185 to repair the leaking sink.
$185 to replace two water heater flexes.
BUT THE REAL KICKER was the $385 to replace the pressure release valve on my 2007 Rheem water heater!

The technician warned me that the water heater could explode if the pressure release valve wasn't replaced. So, assuming it was an expensive part and a complicated job I went ahead with the repair. WRONG! A new release valve costs about $15 and it took around 30 minutes to do the repair, most of which was spent waiting for the water heater to drain. Fortunately I didn't bite on the $1200 40 gallon water heater he tried to sell me...

They've burned me for the last time and you'd be wise to avoid them too.
