Tom R.Our gas furnace stopped working this winter just before Christmas, so it was emergency.. Loved that they showed up in masks and got assurance we would be masked. They analyzed the problem, replaced some parts and cleaned the external outlet pipes. After some basic testing they assured me it worked. By that evening it was not working. Being stuck with no one working Christmas, I googled the type of unit and found some common issues that were easy to repair. I made the fixes myself and it has worked all winter and spring.
Lacey F.Woke up to a freezing cold house, no heat. Not something you want to encounter in the middle of winter. VT Gas came out & explained my furnace was cracked & I needed a new one. I instantly called Chuck's & they sent Troy right out with space heaters & provided a quote/options on what it would take to get me up & running again. It was their busiest time of the year, but they worked me into their schedule & within a few days I had a new furnace & heat again. Jason & Dan were great, so professional, hard working & such nice people to work with. They worked almost 9 plus hours straight to rip out the old furnace, hook up the new furnace which needed new piping, wiring, venting etc... It was remarkable. I would recommend Chuck's 100%, they'll treat you like family & get the job done!
Absolute worst experience I have ever had doing business. Beware! I discovered water on basement floor and looked up to see that the pipes above my head had become detached and these were the EXHAUST pipes. They had never been glued together! They sent out a technician who confirmed that this was the case, glued the pipes and then write a report saying I ""claimed"" that the pipes had come apart and there was no detectable carbon monoxide, yet! Also, they took seven weeks to send my invoice even though the invoice stated that claims for rebates needed to be done within 30 days of installation. PLUS they sent the wrong invoice information FOUR times and when I called to straighten it out the bookkeeper was downright rude. NEVER do business with these people, if you value your life

Absolutely unprofessional and inept people working for this company. This company knowingly charged me for a good and service that was not provided. Deceptively adding things on to the invoice. When I called to inquire I was spoken to very rudely and dismissively. I was told that I'd receive a call back to discuss the issues however I never received a call back. Only a revised invoice to my email removing the fraudulent and deceptive charges. This is an admission of guilt without the apology. These service providers were tasked with the job of completing an inspection however they have proven unable to decipher the condition of even the most basic components of the unit. They did not complete the service to satisfactory and threatened legal recourse against me for calling them out on a job clearly not done when I should be the one suing them from charging me for a job they technically did Not do.
The purpose of purchasing an inspection is to buy some peace of mind or at least the empowerment of knowledge. This company was unable to fulfill this task yet still demands payment after deceptively charging for things that were not done and also failing to call me back to discuss it after I was told I would receive a call back.
Please save yourself the heartache and don't allow yourself to be scammed. I will be begrudgingly paying this unfair bill as the manipulators at this company will surely lie if I take them to court. I've never written a negative review for a company before so please take this seriously.
Even if it were an honest mistake an honest company would have the decency to better explain themselves without instead only being defensive and rude. IMO being charged for something that did not happen isn't an honest mistake, and again even if it were (because everyone does make mistakes sometimes, I truly understand that) the way these people chose to handle this situation was absolutely unacceptable.
The level of customer service with my series of interactions was easily the worst I've experienced from any service provider ever. I wouldn't be able to trust any of the contents of the inspection report I already know the quality of work isn't there. I'm just glad that I had this experience with a 300 dollar bill rather than trusting this company with anything more complicated. I will surely be looking elsewhere for a heat pump.
Terrible service.
I am extremely disappointed by you service, I called to have your team come out, 1- no one ever showed up on the first appointment time. 2- I rescheduled with the admin after confirming that the service person when to another appointment after providing a time frame of arrival. After the reschedule you provided a 2 hour time window for today and still no show.
Do not use their service.
make sure to ask for hourly rate. and log when technician arrives and leaves, to the minute. Current rate is $100 an hour, plus $15 for truck(?). plus high charges for use of leak checking tool and after tearing out all the insulation we were charged for the re-wrapping of same pipes. and the scheduling is an issue in that they never arrive when they say they will. They did original install of HVAC units but their annual maintenance is way over priced. Must be time to find another service company. The tech that showed up was an honest man and explained things really well. It was the billing that kicked us hard for things that were done to find the leak. Just be aware.
Chuck's was terrible. They misdiagnosed a valve replacement and then put it in backwards. They needed to reverse it only to find out it wasn't needed at all! In addition, they were constantly late or did not show up at all. And they charged me overtime when their technician was late and ultimately did not know how to fix the problem. I would steer clear of Chuck's!
Alyssa B.We are very disappointed with the lack of upfront honesty regarding their charges and poor customer service. Any customer should be informed of charges and rates, especially when requested from the beginning. We had Chuck's come to our home to follow up from a recent inspection since our AC unit was not functioning correctly. Two workers came, inspected unit for a brief 20 minutes and quoted us almost $2k of fixing. They charged us $90 for that 20 minutes - not worth the time it took them or the frustration on our end. We tried to work with Chuck to see if we could roll that charge into a future service of our unit & he wouldn't be flexible. Mind you I was 9 months pregnant & moving into a new home at the time when our AC broke, you'd think I'd get a tiny bit of sympathy (I couldn't even see my feet let alone cool down on those hot August days!) Ultimately we were frustrated with the lack of information upfront regarding costs. We asked the receptionist when booking appointment and service techs what it would cost to have them here to inspect and they both told us not to worry about it. We will be taking our business elsewhere.
Also to note; we had an independent HVAC guy come inspect it afterwards and he quoted us $400. And it works great now!
Have used Chucks Heating & Air Conditioning a few times and have always found them to be professional, knowledgeable and thorough. They gave an estimate before work was done, did a great job at the estimated price and thoroughly cleaned up work area. Explained what they were doing every step of the way and got my approval for any unexpected changes in job. I highly recommend these guys.
James W.Update 5/13/18: I heard back from Chuck and he offered a $100 refund and an apology. He seems like a nice guy trying to run an honest business, I think some of the workers are just not great. Hopefully if Chuck is determined to change that he can do some additional training or replace some folks and improve customer service. But for now I am officially gruntled instead of disgruntled.
