Daniel and Issac came by today to look at my sump pump that wasn't working. After taking it apart they got my pump working again. They were knowledgeable and efficient, would call them again in the future for any plumping related issues.

Our drains weren't draining effectively during the historic storms over the holidays. I got in touch with Chosen and they were able to come out relatively quickly. Mario was easy to work with however, the first visit was just to quote for the hydrojetting we needed to do.

Issue #1 (Hydrojet wasn't working) - When he came back with the hydrojet the following day it wasn't working. He didn't have any other help so we had to help him lug it into the yard and he wasn't able to get it working. He spoke with his manager and his manager came over after a little bit and tried to fix it to no avail. The manager Daniel said he needed to take it back to the shop to get it fixed and to give them a 5 hour window.

Issue #2 (Had to wait 5 hours for them to try to fix the hydrojet) - It took them up until the 5 hour mark, pretty much the whole day to get it working. During this time i was frantically searching for someone else to come which i fortunately did before another storm was scheduled for the following day.

Issue #3 (They held the deposit, never called me back and even mentioned that for future customers they should increase the deposit) - When the manager Daniel came I had already found Fast Response Rooter who came immediately and already started hydrojetting successfully. Even after speaking with both the lady at the office and Daniel to consider giving me back my deposit (or meet me somewhere in the middle) for basically unsuccesfully delivering any services at all, they never called me back even though they said they would. Daniel even mentioned that he should increase the deposit next time to $500 to hold customers accountable to use their service even though their hydrojet wasn't working and customers would be taking on a big risk by even using them.

Despite the decent reviews on yelp, this business is clearly not customer focused. I would highly discourage anyone from working with them.

I am so grateful for Daniel and the Chosen Rooter & Plumbing crew! Turns out, it pays off to be a loyal customer. :) When the massive rains came down over new years weekend, we noticed that our sump pump was oddly quiet. Usually, we hear the boom sound every so often, loud but reassuring that it is doing its job. During the downpour, no such sounds were heard. Thankfully, we noticed and thankfully, we called Chosen Rooter right away. They squeezed us into what was no doubt a very busy schedule with all of this rain. Yup, the pump was not working. They fixed it and fingers crossed, no water issues over here. I am super grateful. They've helped numerous clients and worked on our home a few times (sewer lateral repair, installing a on-demand water heater, emergency shut off valve install, etc). They are fair, respectful, diligent and friendly. Thank you, Chosen Rooter team!

My initial experience when I called was great because they were able to get out within a few hours on a Sunday to my tenants apartment in SF to take a look at a leak under the kitchen sink. They said they would charge $85 for an assessment and then give me an estimate for the repair and will apply the $85 towards the repair if I went with them. That sounded reasonable pricing wise. They arrived when they said the would and the quickly discovered that the p-trap and the straight pipe going into the wall under the sink were corroded and needed to be replaced. They had the parts which were easily accessible from any hardware store and told me it would take less than 30 minutes to repair but they said it would cost $400. I was shocked at the price and when I told them that was very expensive they said it was because it was a Sunday. Who knows what it would have cost on a regular week day, I doubt it would have been much less. I feel like they took advantage of me knowing that I was an out of town landlord and that I couldn't leave my tenant with a leaking sink any longer and that I really had no other options and therefore price gouged me. I discussed this with them a few times but they wouldn't budge on the price. They had overall great reviews which is why I called them in the first place but I guess I didn't ready enough of the bad reviews to see that this is not an uncommon occurrence with them. I will likely not use them ever again. I have not heard anything from my tenant since then so I assume they successfully repaired the pipes under the sink and the leak so I will give them 2 starts. It was an easy job, however, and if I was in town I would have been able to do it myself.

My outdoor water heater stopped working in Dec 2022 after a few very cold days. With fidelity national insurance, I was assigned to get service from Chosen Rooter & Plumbing.

The initial inspector, Ron, was courteous and very helpful. He not only showed me some basics on how to locate and assess my water heater, but also answered additional questions.

As soon as my insurance approved the tank replacement, the company contacted me right away, and sent a very experience, senior installer, Robert to complete the job. Rob arrived on time during Xmas/NY holiday, and did an excellent job installing the new tank. He went above and beyond by explaining to me exactly what he is doing and teaching me how to access the new tank's function and offered me his contact in case things do not work.

Overall, I give this company a 10/10 rating. Courteous staff, excellent communication and service even during the holidays, AND delivery of service above and beyond my expectation.

The rain and wind had been terrible the night before and the patio wasn't draining. I called Chosen in the morning and got a hold of Daniel. He said he'd send a tech over to take care of it and sure enough Robert arrived within the arrival window. He was polite to me and my elderly mom, clearly explaining everything he was doing along the way. He laid down cardboard and a towel to make sure he didn't track water or mud anywhere outside the patio. He even thought to turn up the corner of the rug in the living room to make sure his boots didn't come in contact when going between the house and his truck! He also fixed the patio drain, of course :) I couldn't have asked for a better experience and won't be wasting time calling any other plumber again. Thanks, Robert and Daniel!! If I could leave more that 5 stars I would.
