Had Choates replace my ac unit, but not the furnace. Its caused nothing but headaches. They banged around the furnace and come winter it wouldn't run. A tech came out and the burner was out of place. Nobody checked the furnace after moving it around. The coldest days of winter came furnace not keeping up. Another tech comes out. They didn't bother check to make sure the new thermostat was compatible with the furnace. Now the ac unit isn't keeping up. tech recommends new blower or new furnace. I look into it myself and the dip switches have been set wrong and that is all that needed adjustment. How are you going to charge that much, but not provide a good service? Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Run. My house currently has a huge hole in it from the leak they let happen. We had never had a single issue with our units until they came out to do our family plan service and in one month we've had 4 issues. The last was replacing a condenser that cost me $1400 and I left for my 10 year anniversary trip the day after they did the work. I came home to my entire attic having to be ripped out and water dripping through the ceiling. When I called them they lied to me and told me that they informed me of a rusted coil that could leak at any time. Why in the world would I not have that repaired if that was told to me. My husband asked the service man four times if everything was taken care of up there and he said yes, you're good to go and this fix should last you another several years. 2 days later my entire house is being turned upside down to repair the damage that occurred from either their lack of concern for my home or intentional sabatage. We had to beg them to come out same day and when they finally did we were told their was nothing that could be done and we would probably need to replace the whole until. As well as our ceiling, carpet, wood stairs and molding that was ruined by their negligence and lack of communicating. Zero stars. Run. Run. Run!

I wish it didn't take me as long as it did to realize that everything this company does is a money-grab. They use high-pressure sales tactics and try to upsell you on literally everything. It's like walking into a used-car dealership. The family-plan they convince you to sign up for ""because it'll save you money in the long run"" when your unit eventually blows up is worthless when their quote to install a new unit is 40% higher than the competitors. Go with a mom and pop company that doesn't try to screw you at every turn.

We had a new install at our rental and used them for repair and service at our home with three units.
Never got the warranty service for the install and units has had issues. Just found the drainage pipes were a tangled mess and had an upward sloping leg that was constantly clogging, bad install; looked like a rats nest. They picked the service dates for other units with no advance time agreement and could never get rescheduled while we were home. Another unit needed replacement and their quote was from 4 to 5 thousand higher than everyone else. Glad we didn't use them especially after finding the other install in such a mess .

Don't bother responding to their manager when you complain about their business and he says to contact them about your complaint. They don't follow up or give a crap about how they rip you off. Avoid doing business with Choate unless you enjoy being ripped off.

I called them for a quote. Had someone come to my house for 2 minutes and gave me an estimate. They charged $160 for an estimate (which was way overpriced to the other 2 estimates I received). Asked for a refund and they declined. will never use again.

Would always recommend Choate's for any HVAC or Plumbing need. They're incredibly responsive and you always get high quality work. Their technicians are professional and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I got two new HVAC unites from them and it was installed in no time, but done the right way. They've come assisted with some plumbing issues and again came and serviced my outdated thermostat. 10/10

was charged a different price from quote only had a clogged drain have used them before and was charged a different price from what I was charged before for same issue 200 dollar difference!
