I have tried dealing with this company since aproximately 2023. I have bought and used 4 different oumpd from them and have had good but mostly bad experiences. Recently they introduced a new model and much quieter pump loaded with new features. I ordered this new model with the expectation that it would perform as adverttsed. When it arrived, my son and I began the installation. the pump would not perform as advertised. It is impossible to talk to someone live becaust the owner will nott except phone calls. Omlyy e-mail, and nobody is home for advice or trouble soluttions on weekends.
We had to comminicate by e-mail over the course of the troubleshooting process but in the end, the pump would not operate as advertised and I was instructed tto return it for a refund of $260.98. I had to payy shippng costs myself.
I complained to the owner about this and he has ignored my request even though I has specifically requested a shipping lable.
I am attaching a letter sent to the owner, Dennis, who has not responded.

I'm writing to complain about your product and policy.

As you are aware, I ordered your newly designed pump in good faith after waiting for some time for it to be ready. Also, I have used your previous pumps for many years prior. I was trying to escape the very loud pump noise on the older model.
When the new pump arrived, I was impressed with the size. That's when the fun ended.
It was nothing but a big pain in the butt from there on. As you reference the many e-mails between you and my son Tony Suarez trying different fixes for an ill designed product that still does not work.
So, your instructions were to return the pump for a refund. Of course, that was the right thing to do but you should have sent me a pre-paid return label to return the defective pump. Like any business would do.
Obviously, this pump was marketed prior to enough testing to make it workable.
You had a basic pump that did what it was supposed to do. Pump hot water when you need it. I believe it was over designed and tried to incorporate too many features. Turning off at 100 degrees is a joke. Did you ever step into a shower with 100-degree water? I don't think so
The concept is fine but not a workable pump.
If you could remove all of the features that are not necessary and focus on a pump that is very quiet, small, and set it to turn off at a higher temp like the old ones, and forget all of the fancy programming that won't work, you would have a workable efficient pump.
I bought my first pump from you in around 2003 and have had 3 since not including this new design.
Note: I don't like the idea that there is never anyone there that a customer can speak to like back in 2003. And you don't work on weekends. How convenient for you. I called on Monday. Pretty sure the weekend was over

This rating is not for the Chilipepper pump we bought for $249.99. We returned the pump because it was unbelievably noisy. Rather, the 5 stars are for the customer service. They allowed us to return the pump even past the stated 30 days of return, which was good because, what with realizing that this pump was not for us, getting a plumber to install it originally, and then again to remove it, combined with traveling, we were more than 60 days out. Then there was an error and we were only refunded $150. There was a lot more hassle, but finally, today, the full amount (minus charges) of $245 was refunded to my PayPal account. I'm very grateful for the refund, and Dennis was attentive and considerate.

I installed the Chilipepper CP 9000 hot water recirculating pump in my bathroom to have hot water available in the morning when washing up and showering. For about 4 years the pump worked flawlessly. It then began to act up and would turn on some of the time and finally stopped working. I contacted Chilipepper Sales and received a quick response. It was suggested to replaced the temperature sensor which was promptly sent to me. After replacing the part the pump began to again run flawlessly. The customer service at Chilipepper and their help in trying to troubleshoot my issue was outstanding.

My kitchen is the farthest room from my water heater. I would need hot water and would stand there for about five minutes watching gallon after gallon go down the drain. The Chilipepper CP 9000 hot water recirculating pump ends this waste in a few seconds. You can activate the pump by pushing the included button or by key fobs in other bathrooms, etc. (Pump can be installed at any sink or even at the water heater) This was the only pump I've found with this ""instant on"" feature. Once activated, the pump will reach your preferred temperature - then Voila! - turn itself off.
Right out of the box, you can tell this pump is a high quality device. The pump comes with different brass adapters insuring a fit for your needs. Installation is fairly easy for a DIY person but follow each step of the instructions carefully. (The pump is very high speed and needs to be fully primed before the initial start up)
The company offers excellent service should you have a question or need information about shipping, orders, etc.
I would rate the CP9000, accessories and Chilipepper Sales as excellent.

Don't wast your money on this product. I bought one in November 2014 and it stopped working in September 2015, worked for less than ONE year. I paid shipping fee for repair. The repaired unit worked for THREE more years and went broken again. The vendor offered a replacement for $161.35 (including shipping fee) in November 2018 which went broken in March 2019 again. It only lasted FOUR month! In four years, I paid in total of $408.00 plus and I don't have a working pump anymore. I lost confidence in the product.

When we built our current home, we had a tankless water installed.
The only place it could be installed was 50' away from our master bathroom. Because of this it took approx 2 mins to get hot water.
We found the Chillipepper appliance in 2006 and our first unit lasted for 7 years. Once installed, when we ran the pump, it still took 2 mins to get hot water but WITHOUT WASTING water. Operating the pump required pushing the supplied button OR using an X10 momentary switch.

Over the years technology has evolved and this brings us to current day wireless technology and the current model cp9000 Chillipepper. The cp9000 kit they supply is easy to install and the pump itself is the most powerful and most quiet model they've ever sold. Using the supplied wireless button, the pump can be activated over 100' away from the pump. We have 2 keyfob buttons, one near the pump the other approx 20' away in the kitchen. Because the pump is now so fast, it takes 90 secs to get hot water.

Whenever we've need tech support or help with a purchase, they were there for us. I prefer doing business with small, family owned companies like this. There are several hot water recirc pump options on the market but the chillipepper is the most cost-effective one and it works great with either tank or tankless water heaters.

If you're in the market for a hot water recirc pump, I'd encourage you to to try a chillipepper. You'll be glad you did.

I recently installed a Rinnai tankless water heater. Their built-in recirculating pump was just OK and did not allow for multiple sensors and I do not have a dedicated return line. After calling Chilipepper I installed 3 pumps. One on my kitchen and two in my bathrooms. They work great and no more wasted water. I live in Las Vegas and hated seeing all that water going down the drain waiting for hot water to reach my sinks. So much better now. And the most affordable product of its kind by far.

In less than a year I replaced the Chili Pepper pump three times due to failed bearings. When the bearings fail the pump is very loud. The third replacement just failed and as usual calls I have not been able to contact the company during their scheduled ""business hours"". Emails either bounce or go unanswered.

Each time I've replaced the pump it took days to contact the company because they don't answer their phone or respond to email.

I had the pump installed by a professional and each replacement as well.

I am going to replace the pump with an alternative because I don't trust this company or their product.

Recently purchased there hot water recirculation pump, CP9000b. It's been about 2 weeks and it is great. I get hot water in less than a minute when before it would several minutes and 5 gallons of wasted water down the drain. Installation was simple and easy for me, no leaks, no issues. it does make some noise but barely notice it now and usually turn it on while I'm doing other things before showering, shaving, etc. I would highly recommend this recirculation pump over all the others I researched. Best bang for your buck!!
