Another plumber who came highly recommended quoted me $3,000 for what he said would be a massive fix requiring breaking and re-pouring a bunch of concrete in my basement.

Suspicious of this assessment, I called Chicago Sewer Experts. Though it wasn't an emergency, Manny the plumber was at my home within a couple of hours. He instantly fixed my problem for free by turning a knob.

I asked him to install the new toilet I'd already bought on the advice of the other plumber, and he did it quickly. When he needed additional parts, he rushed out to Home Depot to make sure the job went on. He was polite and professional and also wore a mask and observed social distance. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

We called the day prior for drainage issues on several sinks and the replacement of a sump pump battery. Geo came the next morning and troubleshot each drain quickly, and provided an assessment of the sump pump that gave us a few options that were cheaper than other plumbers who had taken a look at the set up. Would recommend to anyone.

Manny came out to give me a free estimate for cleaning the catch basin. He was prompt, very polite and professional. Service was completed the same day and area cleaned up before leaving.

I wasn't going to leave a review but a few days have passed and it is still bothering me, so I'm sharing this with the goal of the owner changing their process.

I submitted a request for quote through the Yelp ""Free price estimates from local Plumbers"" process. Immediately got responses within 15 minutes from different companies

This company, Chicago Sewer Experts, responded except that unbeknownst to me, it was an automated email response:

""Thank you so much for reaching out. We would like to discuss the issue you are having a little bit more in detail. Can you please give us a call at (click to see phone number), and we will be happy to assist you any way we can. Thanks again. Have a great day!""

I mistakenly thought this was a person writing back immediately and authentically (like the other companies) so I called. I got an extremely rude person who then proceeded to take all of the necessary info only to find out later that she needs to send this to someone who will call me back. I asked when, she said she didn't know. (They never did call back.)

Bad process! People with emergencies are already stressed out. She was not empathetic and not helpful. In the meantime, the other companies were immediate in their response and I lined up an amazing plumber from another company who came out the next morning.

After waiting on Chicago Sewer Experts, I finally gave up but sent a message through Yelp and got the same automated email back! Argh!

I wrote one more email and someone responded and apologized blaming it in the answering service. Very disappointing and my guess from reading reviews is that others may have the same issue.

My sincere feedback to the owner:

1) Please do not use an automated response email when people use the Yelp Quote process. Tricking customers into calling in only to have to then leave a message defeats the purpose of the Yelp shortcut. People using this process need to talk to someone ASAP
2) During normal business hours, if you can't hire an employee to take your calls, use a better answering service. The people you use now are not helping you and are probably turning away business that you don't even realize.

My father asked for help on an industrial job in Chicago. The co-owner Joe showed up and said it was clogged and who do I bill for the job? My Dad asked for the camera shot and Joe said he didn't have one. My Dad asked what am I paying you for then? Joe disappeared and didn't follow up on the job. It seems like this business is very dishonest. This can't be the first time.

I had a major plumbing issue with a clogged grease trap, that led to pressure in my pipes, causing a break inside the wall.


Geo, and Andrew came out, and they were EXTREMELY professional. Found the issue within about 20-30 min. Found the exact issue, and solved it.

They have great payment options as well, was able to use AmEx. Would use again in a heartbeat!!

The team of Geo an Andrew were wonderful! They communicated well about the time of their arrival and the prospective measures which could be taken to fix my drainage problem. I live in a unit with old pipes and it's not the easiest scenario. The job was completed quickly and the service amazing. They were certain to clean up after their work leaving the area spotless.

Very Happy .Their camera was able to catch problem I had for 5 months.clogged sewer!!afrer 4 rodding ,another camera company(Able sewerage) trying to cut my pipes and replace them..WOW,these guys located the problem and hidro jet the pipe.DONE

We had Pat come out to do some work on our new house. He was very professional and easy to work with during the estimate phase. When it came time to schedule the work Pat and Chicago Sewer Experts were very quick to come out and spent two full days at our house. As is always the case, problems arose during the work (NO fault of Pat's). Pat was very clear with us about what was going on and what needed to be done. We were comfortable with the everything along the way.

Chicago Sewer Experts came in at a MUCH better price than the other company we brought in for an estimate. I would bring them in again, for sure.
