Beware, very, very expensive. In clearing a blockage in kitchen sink they said they broke the garbage disposal and we would need a new one. The prices they quoted for a 1/2 and 3/4 hp InSinkErator was so high that I called ISE and found out that they are not authorized dealers and the price was much higher than it should be and we should find another plumber.

We have used Chet's for several repairs and installations in our home. The repairs were fine, nursing along an old heating system. The last repair/installation was a major 11K job replacing the oil fired boiler and HW system. That was supposed to take a day, but extended into two full days. OK....not happy, but I understand that this was a major project, so was fine.
The last interaction I had with the owner, Chet was horrible. We have several projects we want to have done - installing an outdoor shower, fixing an outdoor spigot and a complete reno on a bathroom (2 rooms). When I called to ask if I could have someone out to give me a quote on all of the work, and to walk them through the projects, Chet was incredibly rude and condescending and told me that he doesn't give quotes. Really ???? I had one for the 11K job you just did - and then started to talk incoherently, saying I would call him a bandit if he gave me a quote (what??). I tried to explain that the bathroom reno was complex and he repeatedly cut me off and said that he did not do quotes and that this was an hourly job. Hmmm, so I could pay you $200 or $2000? I don't know a trade in the world does not give you a quote for a job, and I can not believe how incredibly rude he was to me. I am going to Lowe's to have the bathroom done, and will never have them set foot in my home again.

We had a minor leak coming from a shut off valve in our home. From the beginning working with Chet was difficult. Trying to coordinate a time to meet at the property and he made me feel very much like I was inconveniencing him, even though this was mid day on a Monday. When we met , he immediately started talking about how old the house was and how there was a laundry list of things that we should be concerned about. When asked what it would cost to replace ONLY the one leaking valve, he could not give me a price and said he would have to get back to us. That was enough for me to hear... done with Chet.... Called another plumber, he said all that was needed was to tighten the valve... He did it on the spot ... no Charge..

Stay away from Chet....

Called about a job and he said he would get back to me with an estimate. Called a week later because i didn't hear from him. He said he was too busy and couldn't do it.

never in a million years have we had a problem with chets....i had a pipe break under my foundation...he was there in 20 minutes!! thats what i call service!! thanks chets plumbing......will always be my # 1 plumber~!!!

This company served my very old unit for years, probably 20+. When the pilot went out in January, they refused to work on it saying it was just ""too old"" and that it needed to be replaced, which would cost me $6000. I had two other second opinions tell me that they could get it up and running for me - no problem - for about $150. Just another unreliable plumber...Use Village Plumbing in Westport!
