You see that 5 star review (which I am flagging) by a guy Eric B from Merrick? Well, that looks suspiciously just like the guy who came to my house when I called Cheap John's for a clog. I was quoted 49.99, then all of a sudden it became a ""BIG JOB"" that jumped up to $250. When I told him to leave, ""Eric"" then called his ""Boss"" ( fake call, he pretended to be calling his boss but there was no one on the other line) who supposedly agreed to knock it down to $150 for the ""BIG JOB"". This guy was very nasty, kept complaining that he was tired and that this very complicated job (a simple clog) was holding him up from going home. There was lots of fake huffing, puffing and exasperated sighing, and when he realized I was alone with my child he became somewhat threatening and started ordering me around: ""Move that!!! Go run the water!!!"" and refused to leave unless I gave him $250 for the job. I made my daughter stay in the bedroom with the door locked. I should have called the police but I was intimidated in case he heard me, and I just wanted to get rid of him. Also, he left a big filthy mess.

very disappointed that I thought this guy is cheap or at least reasonable when most charge only $49.99 I feel he rip me off by charging me $350 cash for a 15 minutes job using just snake to clean the sewer see pic. this is exactly what he used to drain the sewer

At times you will see a van with advertising Drain Sewer for $49.99 because they only use snake (see pic) and it only cost $42.05 at Zoro this is exact Snake he used

He did not even use the professional machine (see pic) maybe I won't feel bad

He is a very sensitive guy too, he took advantage of my being naive and vulnerability since the basement is already flooded.

When I called his office the woman says it's a free estimate? his estimate is $350 and went to his van to get the small red snake (see pic)

Also, this company offer a 1-year warranty if they have to come back and Drain the sewer pipe again all I have to pay is $50.00 (all the time they have to re-do their draining) -

this is what they mean when they say UNDER WARRANTY

I will not recommend this company.

Called Cheap Johns night after calling around for a main line flood on a Sunday night! Not even an hour passed between me calling them and them arriving and fixing the issue. Eric was great. Wouldn't think of calling anyone else.

I had a problem with a clog and had to find a plumber. I called up johns and within an hour had Michael a plumber that works for the company help out quickly and was priced fairly. I would definitely recommend them.

I called Cheap John's yesterday late afternoon and Eric showed up today as promised. We had a nice conversation, they have lots of experience and he worked in the pouring rain as the sewer line outside was clogged. It was a little bit more then the $59.95 they advertise but well worth it. Still cheaper then the ridiculous estimate from the other nationally advertised chain who wanted $495 for the SAME work and offered to go down to $395 if I pay cash. Cheap John was less than half of that.

Had a opportunity to use the service today. They advertise a $49.00 service, when in fact the minute the tech gets to your house, he lets you know that the service is $150.00. States the $49.00 is only for return service, if you have other problems down the line. What a lie, The service was 3x's what they had stated. I really dont like people that prey on the sick and elderly, they even had the nerve to threaten me when I said I was going to write a unfavorable review. I recommend you go somewhere you will get honest people to deal with. Sorry Cheap John you are liars.

I wish I could give zero stars! This is hands down the worse service I have ever dealt with. Extremely unprofessional, Eric showed up with barely any tools and made the issue worse than it was. He was unable to reach the pipe so took a hammer and started banging the pipes until something finally broke. Had to come back numerous times since the problem was never really fixed. Finally had to call another company, who came and fixed the problem immediately and we have never had another issue since! Not only did Cheap Johns not fix the issue, but we had to deal with someone who was extremely obnoxious over 6 times!! Please save yourself a lot of time, energy, and money and use any other service!

Very unprofessional... they are a scam please stay away. They didnt fix my drain instead caused more damage. Instead of fixing a clogged drain they created a hole in my pipe and stated the pipe was old. I called the owner to just patch the hole. He called me a ""cheap democrat"" and hung up. These people are horrible. Do yourself a favor and call someone else. I have to fix a clogged drain and a hole they created now.

Absolutely the worst scammer and crew. Came and gave estimate to snake drain line for $150.00 and jacked it up to 200.00 within 15 minutes. Snake didn't have ANY cutting or clearing attachments... just cable. Clog returned in 2 days. Would guarantee 30 day guarantee on receipt! Arrived 2-1/2 hours late. Left the house an absolute disaster. Do not use this company! Ended up doing myself and clog free without the drama of these scammers!
