Back in 1969, a trio of investors from Nashville acquired the American Heating & Cooling in Cookeville after acquiring it from Cantrell Brown. Throughout the next four years, American Heating & Cooling established its reputation as a quality provider in the Upper Cumberland area, despite running just three vehicles and generating less than $100,000 in annual income. In 1973, the first significant change occurred the company began to shape its future when Garry Floeter took the helm as the new general manager. He purchased a quarter of the outstanding shares and was appointed the company's president. A year later, the name was changed to Cookeville Heating & Cooling Services. During the period from 1973 to 1990, CHC saw remarkable growth. In time, the services division was divided into a separate business, known as Cookeville Mechanical Services. Soon after that, Floeter completed the stock options with the other CHC shareholder and retired the remaining shares, assuming full ownership of the company. To learn more about our history,

Garry Floeter, our president has spent much of his life working in the HVAC industry, which is a fair assessment. In his youth, Garry learned the HVAC trade while helping out at his dad's refrigeration company. Today, he holds the position of the president of a leading and well-regarded mechanical contracting and HVAC service providers in the Middle Tennessee region.

He was raised in the Nashville area. His career began at twelve years old carrying tools for his father. Garry completed his education at the now-defunct Hume-Fogg Vocational Technical High School, where he was the valedictorian and furthermore serving as State President of the Vocational and Industrial Clubs of America. While attending school, he held jobs with a couple of appliance distributors. Learn more on our website.
