My shower was having trouble draining water if the water ran a bit too long. Knowing the issue was progressively getting worse, I decided to reach out to plumbing companies. Chavez Plumbing and Rooter was fast to respond to my message and sent technician Eli out within the hour. Eli was very friendly and knows what he's talking about. After explaining my issue, Eli already knew, based on the large tree along the main pipeline in my yard, that my problem was likely roots. Remaining optimistic that snaking or, at most, hydrojetting, would be needed, he ran his camera through the pipe only to discover terribly severe damage caused by the tree roots. He showed me the video monitor so I could see for myself the 25ft of broken, cracked, sinking pipe that was being held together by snarls of roots. Eli offered to proceed just with hydrojetting but recommended the pipe be replaced instead to ensure the problem is fixed. He was transparent about what the process would be, the length of time it would take and the cost and I didn't feel at all pressured or like he was trying to sell me something I didn't need. He even offered for me to think it over and he would come back out in a few days. However, I knew the pipe had to be replaced so I agreed to the replacement and Eli called out his crew. They replaced the 25ft of pipe the same day and I was only unable to run the water or use the drains for about 2 hours while they worked. Eli called me out from time to time to give me updates on their progress and to show me big broken pieces of my old pipe, as well as what they had replaced. I really felt like Eli wanted me to feel comfortable with the entire process. Before filling the trench back in with dirt, Eli showed me the length of the new pipe and that they even replaced the clean out, free of charge, to ensure the roots don't stand a chance of breaking back in. I'm so appreciative of Eli and his crew. I feel like I got fantastic, professional service and at a great price. They are my go-to plumbers from now on and I will recommend them to everyone.

So I been having garbage disposal issues before Christmas but had to wait until holidays was over to get it fixed. Well I put out a request here on Yelp and a few businesses responded but I ultimately went with Chavez Plumbing because 1 they didn't charge for the service call and 2 they were available for my day and time. So today came for them to fix it and a nice dispatch lady called to ask if it would be ok to come earlier than appointment time, I said perfect!! Gabriel and David showed up for the job and showed out! Gabriel let me explain what the problem is and he looked at it and gave me a quote and I said go for it! He didn't have to take anything apart he just did what he did and my garbage disposal was working again and he even greased it up and checked it twice. Like new again with no leaks. I asked him if he heard my toilet running when he came in and he said I will take a look at it. He checked it and adjusted something and it was like new again!!! I really appreciate Gabriel and his assistant David working efficiently and professionally!! Next plumbing issue I'm definitely calling Chavez plumbing!!!

We had an issue with the flange not being properly mounted into the cement. Gabriel came within the time frame in which I had called to schedule(which nicely was the same day). He was very kind and speedy. He gave us a quick estimate and had that done as well as installing a faucet for us in less than an hour. I will definitely be calling him for any future issues. He was quick, reliable, and reasonably priced.

My igniter on my water heater wasn't working. Called this company for a free estimate. I pass on what the SoCal gas company said, the gas control valve is not functioning at 100%, that is why the flame goes off once in a while, 3x in two months. But we were able to re ignite it, then the igniter went bad. The plumber said $275 to replace the whole gas control valve unit. The unit is $165 on Amazon. So labor is $110. I then also ask about redoing my vent pipes, plumber said $125 to just inspect it, no work done, just take a look. WHAT?? It is just pipes, all within hands reach, not some complex system like electrical diagram/circuitry hidden or hard to get to. Then I asked for a written estimate for the vent and control valve. The plumber said ""no written estimate, just verbal'"" his words. For the time being, I ordered the igniter switch from Amazon for $4, took out the old, put the new one in, works like magic. But I called a 5 star plumbing company to inspect the vent and gas control valve later this week and see what they say.

Avoid this company!

We chose this company because of all their good Google and Yelp reviews, but now I have to imagine they aren't real, because from our experience, the folks from the company are dishonest and unable to complete the jobs they say they will. After arriving, they tried to act like we had a catastrophic plumbing problem on our hands when we had called them for a maintenance project. They put the pressure on that we needed to act immediately and pay them thousands of dollars to resolve the problem. They tried to use every scare tactic in the books.

It didn't pass the smell test, so we had a different plumber come the very next day, who completed the maintenance job with the appropriate equipment that Chavez apparently didn't have, and while there was some truth to the need for additional repairs, the need wasn't immediate or catastrophic. They were just trying to scare us into spending a ton more money with them by creating a sense of false urgency. The new plumber showed us evidence that some of the things the folks from Chavez were saying were obviously false and only meant to scare us. Their pressure tactics have led to them losing our trust and business.

I normally don't need to hire for projects in my home, however my plumbing issue was not going away and I needed professional help. I was quoted pretty high for other commercial plumbing companies, but Chavez plumbing gave me a reasonable price. I was quickly contacted by them after I sent my phone number and they were at my house the following morning ready to work. They were very professional and efficient. The plumbing problem was located accurately and I was pleased with the services. Turns out there was a disconnection from my house line to the main sewer line. Would definitely recommend !
