This guy is a con artist - read the other reviews for his heating business, but he's also a landlord. He told the heating company that I was still living in one of his properties a YEAR after I moved out and after I had already paid up and closed my account (which, I never should have had an account because my lease didn't obligate me to go with their ""servicing oil company""), resulting in me getting a bill for over $350 just yesterday. Luckily the heating company is reasonable and called Joe's mother (who owns the properties - he just manages them) and transferred the entire balance over to them. There were also issues throughout the lease with the water, which was disintegrating the pipes and causing the water to run blue, staining the bathtub, which I had to clean the blue stain out of after every shower (because I knew by this point he'd tell me I had to take the cost of replacing the tub out of my security deposit), the water was undrinkable because of the aforementioned issues and I had to buy a water service for my entire lease, I had to bother him repeatedly to add whatever additive to their water system to make the blue staining stop, then the furnace wasn't working and he told me it was my responsibility to pay the cost of an emergency service (not my problem, not my property, not in my lease). If you're thinking about renting from him - RUN! RUN! RUN!

These guys are rip off artists. They took my mom for a ride, selling her some fancy toilet that they were trying to get rid of. They wouldn't even show it to her before hand. They were very convincing and convinced my elder mom that she needed this fancy toilet. Before she knew it, she was out $2,000. for a project they knew was going to be a nightmare for her. I would not trust these guys. They take advantage of people and have not returned her phone calls, nor shown up to do the work and discuss options. Disgusting! My mother is now getting a lawyer to get her money back.

Chaves Plumbing installed a very expensive gas boiler and water heater. Installation was problem free. Fast forward 2 years when I called for yearly maintenance which was included with installation, and was told by Joe that it ""wasn't really needed"". That was a red flag. The next year, when I have no hot water, I call him again. He tells me he is ""over committed"" and probably can't come out until the end of the week, so he wouldn't be offended if I call someone else. I remind him that the unit is still under warranty, so I will wait for him to come out. I call him on Friday, no reply. I call him again on Saturday; his answering service twice and his cell phone twice, and no answer. I give up and call a reputable plumber. Bottom line is if you are looking for someone honest and reliable, look elsewhere.

Hired Joe for an oil to gas furnace and water heater conversion. I will say his price was the lowest and I believe the installation and products were of good quality. You do get what you pay for. His quote came along with a ton of politically based information regarding how we were basically supporting Muslim countries. I overlooked this and hired him because of price. I am convinced he didn't pull a permit because he was able to start the work so quickly and because an inspector never came after the fact. The final straw regarding my opinion of this person is when I called for urgent service on my 3 year old unit and he said......""um yeah; I am not going to be able to help you. You should just look in the yellow pages""

Installation nightmare! Bad workmanship, over-priced, NO followup leaving us hanging and getting someone else in to help us, bankruptcy, & overall rude treatment!! Trusted Joe, and that, still, hurts...along with the fact that we had to get someone else in to fix the problems that he ignored, even after we called and wrote for days! Very aggressive on being paid, too. Don't give them your credit card info because they will charge for the system without your permission...we, actually, gave him a check for the system and they had, already, charged our credit card! Once paid, forget any further assistance. We begged him to have someone come and help us when our system failed after 2 months. We had to get someone else to come in and fix things to the tune of $1,000.00!! When I put in to Small Claims to be reimbursed for this $1,000.00, I found out that Joe had filed for bankruptcy! So, not only are we out the $1,000.00, but, he said that because of this, our warranty was over and his promise to come and check on the system each year...forget it! We paid top dollar to Joe because he said his men were certified plumbers, but, when they messed up big time and we had a problem, nobody was available. BEWARE!!

Fantastic service! I would HIGHLY recommend Joe for a new water heater. Very nice, professional with reasonable pricing.
